A Veteran with a Wish
FL | MO | Hi | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FI | DH | PR | 78 | 62 | 68 | 79 | 70 | 76 | 71 | 56 | 63 | 71 | 74 | 68 | 75 |
Marcin Bialoblocki has discovered the form of his life and wants to share that at the PCT division this year for Arrinera. Many teams wanted this guy, but in the end found a polish team wanting him the most. He will be our TT leader and will hopefully be able to take some Top 5's and perhaps even win a TT out there. We're glad to have him aboard and maybe he will be the highlight of the season.
The name is Lebris, Cedric Lebris
FL | MO | Hi | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FI | DH | PR | 73 | 61 | 65 | 65 | 70 | 69 | 62 | 75 | 71 | 63 | 78 | 69 | 65 |
Cedric Lebris is quite an unknown presence in the MG so far and he is here at Arrinera to change that. He will be the sole cobbler to support Maes this season, as we didn't have the capacity to go full in on this area. When he is not on a cobblestone terrain, he will mostly feature in the breakaway and should be able to make his wage worth a living here at Arrinera.
Good looking eh? Oh he is jewish...
FL | MO | Hi | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FI | DH | PR | 70 | 71 | 74 | 62 | 74 | 72 | 68 | 58 | 67 | 65 | 70 | 66 | 62 |
Ran Margaliot is both Israelean NC in TT and in Road Race and hope to feature his new shirt on the highest level. He will be an important Lieutenant for both Froome and Roche throughout the year and should do that job perfectly. I know he has a lot to prove by going from PT to PCT. We're glad to have a NC feature from this guy the most though
Giorgi Narekshv...Nareks...Narek!
FL | MO | Hi | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FI | DH | PR | 68 | 67 | 66 | 72 | 66 | 68 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 67 | 72 | 58 | 70 |
Giorgi Nareklishvili is a TT talent for the future and will max at 78 TT once maxed. He will be an important asset in the years to come and we hope he can prove himself useful in a TTT. We don't expect much from him this season, but be sure to see him around the team on top in the coming years. Georgian cycling hasn't reached its highest level yet and maybe we will see more talents like him from Georgia.

Great squad. The hill spearhead is amazing but there's lack in some high 70 department. Maybe some leader twists in Arrinera? Both Roche and Froome have had their share of team-intern hierarchy problems, just sayin' Lavoine was a beast previously, you'll be happy if he carries that momentum with him.
Definitely a great transfer period for ya.

Cheers and I can safely say ditto to a great transfer season for you too. When Poljanski returns next year with 77/77 Hill/MO I will start on signing some better domnestiques and going for promotion. That is the plan anyhow

Manager Thoughts
There has been a lot of discussions in the HQ about the teams plans and we have gotten to an conclusion. This will be the season we will aim for promotion to the PT, which is the holy ground for us. An PT spot can secure a more straightforward development of Polish and Israeli riders for the future. However cross roads come with development and the road for glory, thus this season we looked slightly away from talents and looked upon the opportunity to do it from the PT. If we fail in our hunt for promotion, the plan is to start training the current generation of polish/Israeli riders and work our way up the PCT through the upcoming seasons.
Enough about the future, cause we now have our first PCT squad in the making and not everything went our way this transfer season. What we're referring to is our grand escape to the British Islands, after our set primary targets was competed for in a pace we couldn't follow.
This meant we had to sacrifice some of our main nationality riders and the team was not completed as planned. On the bright side we have gotten ourselves some nice leaders and can't wait to see them in action. Our hope is to compete for the Top 10. We have leaders in every terrain and our only weakness in doing so, we do lack the depth to be the ideal Promotion hunter.
We'll see you at the battlefield and we hope to complete our race planning very soon. Please leave a comment about our plan and if our dreams are not totally what you call "wishful thinking"!

Oh, back-to-back promotion. There's potential for it but that's a very, very ambitious goal. Good luck!

Thanks, I'm quite sure our team isn't strong enough (but close) and will be hard to top off last seasons 16 stage wins and 3 GC's. Guess if we fail this goal, we have some interesting options left for next season

National Champions are celebrated riders for their performance in the National Championship of their respective country. We're proud to say that we have 2 celebrated riders, who can't wait to show off these NC's throughout the season. So let's celebrate their performance with an applause and give them these jerseys to show around the world of the 2016 ManGame Season!
Maciej Bodnar joins from Team Kenya
Maciej Bodnar joined this transfer season from the African PT outfit Team Kenya Airways and was looking to reprise his role as Time Trialist in the PCT again. He also got the Polish NC in the TT category and we're hoping to see this jersey come to the test several times (hopefully)
A Transfer of necessity
Ran Margaliot joins from the legendary talent factory that is Red Bull - Huawei and we spent our last available money to secure (overprized for sure though). All that so we could go into please our Israeli fans and watch Margaliot take the task of wearing the NC in the PCT. This NC is for both categories and especially on the road we expect to see it. Unlike with the Polish NC, it seems the TT category will be hard to regain with us failing to secure Goldstein, but oh well!
Thanks to the_hoyle for making these fantastic NC's

Cheers, ditto Froome was more of a panic buy and was me forced to get a leader from a different nation than intended. Roche was just a nice opportunity buy and I've cheered for him throughout my first season, so can't be unsatisfied.

Pawel Poljanski winning the Polish NC last year
FL | MO | Hi | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FI | DH | PR | 66 | 75 | 75 | 67 | 69 | 69 | 74 | 56 | 61 | 69 | 71 | 66 | 67 | 66 | 77 | 77 | 67 | 70 | 70 | 76 | 56 | 61 | 71 | 73 | 66 | 67 |
Pawel Poljanski has chosen a rather annoying year to wear the Polish RR NC Jersey, where he is loaned out to PT outfit Evonik - ELKO. Here he will be gaining the last bit of growth before getting fully maxed. Poljanski is not that young again, but he might see himself as a target for training in the future.
Poljanski is set to make a really strong Lieutenant in the coming years and we hope that a trip to the PT and the experience of riding an Grand Tour should be able to help just that. We can begin to compare him to what Roche will be doing for us this year and Roche is indeed a strong role model for Pawel. Then again there are many other alternatives for training, even ones that isn't on the team.
We're gonna try and follow his PT adventure closely and hopefully he will bring home good memories!
Grzegorz Stepniak joins the PT winners!
FL | MO | Hi | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FI | DH | PR | 70 | 57 | 67 | 64 | 68 | 69 | 74 | 66 | 77 | 77 | 63 | 68 | 73 | 72 | 57 | 67 | 64 | 69 | 71 | 74 | 66 | 79 | 79 | 63 | 68 | 75 |
Grzegorz Stepniak joined from the Free Agency this transfer season and now to finish his final progression he has joined Team I-Gen - Festina, the legendary talent factory and also reigning PT winner. Grzegorz Stepniak will also be a possible target for training and we think that Poland still need a top sprinter. Again age is late for Stepniak, but nonetheless he is strongest candidate for this.
This year he will be leading out either Bryand Coquard or Georgos Tzortzakis on many occasions and if he'll be useful to these sprinters, then he will be useful to every MG team existing. We have an assurance he will join a Grand Tour, so will be interesting to see how long he will be useful for this team. It is hard to shine through at a team like this, but if he does his job, we will be very happy

Nice presentation, and very nice national champion jerseys!
I'm looking forward to having Stepniak at the team, and hope he can keep Coquard and Tzortzakis out of trouble, and possibly lead them into a decent result here and there... He will be having a few tries of his own aswell, so you can see just what he is capable of, at this level.

I'm very glad that you decided to send Poljanski to my team. I wanted someone who could be an important help for Skujins in the hills who can also go into breaks in the mountains as i never really intended to sign a big mountain leader and Poljanski looks like the perfect fit for that role.
I guess he will learn a lot from his 2 GT starts this season
Nice presentation!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Thanks guys and I can only like the fact that Poljanski is going to 2 GT's
Fablok dominated Tour Down Under?
Kamil Zielinski takes the stage win on the 4th stage
Last year the team had it's debut stage race Down Under and also only 1 of 2 wildcards to the C1 race category. So as the race was intended as a chance to see the jersey feature throughout many breakaways as possible. The team had a quiet start, but on the 4th stage Kamil Zielinski took his chance.
It all started from the breakaway together with Haugaard, Jelfs and Smirnovs from the very start of the stage. However the pack had a hard time trying to catch the breakaway and even sprint trains were made and made little impact on the gap. Zielinski was together with Smirnovs the best in a direct sprint and Zielinski kept a strong line and won our first stage win of the total 16 in that season.
Brice Feillu wins the 5th stage of the race
Oh no we weren't done and Brice Feillu joined Busche, Weening, Dyachenko and Chiarello in the breakway the day after. Here Feillu was told that the pack as having trouble catching them with 7km to go. As the stage was the most important of the race, it was finished on the mighty Old Willunga Hill and is the key icon of this race. The winner of the race would be found here, but Feillu eyed his chance and attacked with 1,6km left of the stage.
Busche had failed his attack and now Feillu broke through leaving everyone behind, even going faster than Di Maggio (the GC winner) up the hill. This set a fantastic opportunity to win the queen stage of the race.
Our own luck turned against us and a curse arrived
One big thing about our 2015 season was the curse of not getting three stage wins in a row, an achievement that we couldn't achieve with 3 opportunities to do so. On the last stage that was ironically stopped by no other than a breakaway (!!), where Nic Hamilton managed to hold everyone behind him to win the stage.
Mathieu Drujon was set alone after Anthony Lavoine wasn't able to follow the pace and had struggled with his energy after a hard time getting over the hills in the race. Mathieu Drujon saw himself beating the likes of Impey and Serebiakov in a tame set of sprint trains trying to help out. So in the final stages we got an 1-1-2, something that Zielinski would replicate in the Tour of the Middle East.
Overall a strong race from the team and something to look forward to for this season.

The old classic annual event that is Tour Down Under is iconic in the way that it's route is one of the most reliable to be the same each year and then still manage to entertain! The climb at the Old Willunga Hill is the most classic stop and the place the GC gets claimed each year. Last year we got a lot of good experiences in our first ever stage race.
2 stage wins and a decent GC position is hard to beat, but we come here with last years stage winners and an even better GC leader, so it is possible. We come here to win and last year we got a good idea on how to manage the profile and predict the outcome before it happened. Chris Froome will have his debut race here and our expectations are pretty high, so we are here to go for the overall GC win!
Startlist
Nat | Rider | Role | | FROOME, Chris | Leader | | ZIELINSKI, Kamil | Lieutenant | | FEILLU, Brice | Lieutenant | | LAVOINE, Anthony | Sprinter | | MATYSIAK, Bartlomiej | Leadout | | COHEN, Noam | Leadout | | MARGALIOT, Ran | Helper | | SAGAN, Juraj | Helper |
In short January is a short month for us, but we promise that we will be quite visible in February, which will be one of the most busiest months for us. In February we will participate in

Froome in the fight for his first GC
Tour Down Under was one of the most succesful races for the team last year, so we returned with great expectations of topping last seasons result. Points wise we did manage to do just that, but no stage wins here Down Under for us sadly. Chris Froome is here to take his first GC for us, but raised concerns with his current knowledge of the teams strenghts and weaknesses.
He was a constant factor to keep himself in the front and with help from Matysiak, we saw that he could manage that on the flat parts. Anthony Lavoine gained only a 4th place on the opening stage and no breakaways for us this year. Brice Feillu helped Froome into a good position on the 2 hilly stages and we saw Froome taking home a 3rd place in the GC here in Australia.

Nat. | Date | Race | RDs | Cat. | | 03-feb | Tour of Eritrea | 6 | HC | | 07-feb | Tour de San Luis | 8 | HC | | 15-feb | Volta a Catalunya | 6 | C1 | | 25-feb | Strade Bianche | 2 | HC | | 25-feb | Gisborne GP | 2 | C1 |
Tour of Eritrea
Tour of Eritrea was dominated by a pole partially last season, so obviously that has inspired us to come here and do that again. This time we are led by an Irishman though and he will debut into one of the hardest races on his calendar. We have Anthony Lavoine here for the first 2 stages, but as this is a HC race, we still expect strong opposition on those 2. Berard and Feillu will be key to help Roche in the Mountains and likewise with Owsian and Matysiak in the Hills.
Startlist
Nat | Rider | Role | | ROCHE, Nicolas | Leader | | BERARD, Julien | Lieutenant | | FEILLU, Brice | Lieutenant | | LAVOINE, Anthony | Sprinter | | MATYSIAK, Bartlomiej | Leadout | | COHEN, Noam | Leadout | | SHAPIRA, Idan | Helper | | OWSIAN, Lukasz | Helper |
Tour de San Luis
Some might say this is the big gamble in our planning, but due to Roche being in Eritrea, this means we have Chris Froome here to fight for the GC. With 4 hilly stages this is the place for him though to shine and the climbs are quite harder than in the TDU. There are 25 km of TT on 2 days though and here we will see if 68 TT is enough to win the race.
Both Bialoblocki and Bodnar are here to take advantage of the 25 km of TT in the race though and they should be able to take a few points, but probably not enough to win the stage, but who knows! Zielinski must never be underestimated in races like this, so we're glad to have him here too. Rest of the team consist of helpers, but who knows if they will do other thiings than bottle collecting
Startlist
Nat | Rider | Role | | FROOME, Chris | Leader | | MARGALIOT, Ran | Lieutenant | | ZIELINSKI, Kamil | Lieutenant | | BIALOBLOCKI, Marcin | Time Trial | | BODNAR, Maciej | Time Trial | | PSZCZOLARSKI, Wojciech | Helper | | ELIAD, Daniel | Helper | | SAGAN, Juraj | Helper |
Volta a Catalunya
We go here to Spain to try and nail down a lucky run for us to reach our Top 5 goal here. Nicolas Roche is going to meet tought competition here and with only 1 hill stage to make a difference it will be hard. The hilly stage doesn't look too selective here, so we might have to "pray" more to pass the David Star on top here!
Nicolas can look forward to a strong help in the team with 5 riders being able to helo when it goes uphill. Bodnar is here for the 43 km long TT, as Bialoblocki couldn't get his RD's to fit into this stage race. Nonetheless we expect a lot of things in every race, but here we rely on luck to get the result we need.
Startlist
Nat | Rider | Role | | ROCHE, Nicolas | Leader | | BERARD, Julien | Lieutenant | | FEILLU, Brice | Lieutenant | | BODNAR, Maciej | Time Trial | | ZIELINSKI, Kamil | Helper | | OWSIAN, Lukasz | Helper | | COHEN, Noam | Helper | | SHAPIRA, Idan | Helper |
Strade Bianche
Strade Bianche is one of the most classic hill races on the calendar, so of course we are here to win! The very best punchers will be here, so of course we have our best puncher in Chris Froome here to go for his first win here in Strade. The race collapse on the fact that Gisborne will be raced same day, so our hill squad is divided between these 2 races.
Zielinski and Matysiak are both here because the route fits punchers with good sprint stats, so hopefully they can do something here too. Other than that it is the standard drill here, though we see 2 youngsters here to gather experience for their respective careers.
Startlist
Nat | Rider | Role | | FROOME, Chris | Leader | | ZIELINSKI, Kamil | Lieutenant | | MATYSIAK, Bartlomiej | Lieutenant | | PSZCZOLARSKI, Wojciech | Helper | | LEBRIS, Cedric | Helper | | MARGALIOT, Ran | Helper | | SAGIV, Guy | Helper | | NAREKLISHVILI, Giorgi | Helper |
Gisborne GP
As said this collide with Strade, so we were hesitant on what to do here, but if you take a look at the route is could be affected by Mountain skills. This means once again we have Roche to make a miracle, but this time we might see a gamble pay off. Say that the big punchers go to Strade, then we will have an easier time taking the win.
Berard and Feillu will once again create a backline for Roche and with the help of names like Shapira and Eliad we do have some strong helpers even though most are in Italy.
Startlist
Nat | Rider | Role | | ROCHE, Nicolas | Leader | | BERARD, Julien | Lieutenant | | FEILLU, Brice | Lieutenant | | ELIAD, Daniel | Helper | | SHAPIRA, Idan | Helper | | OWSIAN, Lukasz | Helper | | SAGAN, Juraj | Helper | | STIMULAK, Klemen | Helper |

Now this looks like a strong month for you. Top leader for every race makes for a lot of scoring options.
Wouldn't say San Luis is a huge gamble. 4 hilly stages offer already enough chances for points, the point jersey should go to a puncheur with only 2 flat stages ( or someone like Reimer / Kump) and the TT will also factor in previous hill stages so he won't likely lose as much time as expected. All in all, it should be a good decision to send him there eventhough he isn't the favourite for the overall.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
