It has to be said, this is a silly story...
I, personally, prefer realistic stories, or stories where i see the team build up from the beginning and get as strong as this.
Nice reporting though
all I can say is that there are more then enough realistic stories, and if I had to make a story building up a team like this all the way to 2010 it would take ages.
With this story I hope to be original, and I hope people will keep reading it.

This year's World Championships are in the Belgian Zolder. It's as flat as it could be with only 2 briges on the course making a small height difference. It is 280km long so a good endurance is needed. Boonen is of course top favourite with the crowd cheering for him only. Boasson Hagen and Rasmussen should challenge him in the sprint though.
120 riders start the race and it takes only 15km before the first rider attacks. This means he'll have to ride 265km in the break which is obviously way too much. Anyway, Duque is the man trying to get away and lots of attacks will follow him. It seems quite a few coutries dont have a good sprinter so they'll have to attack.
Duque forms a little groupe togther with other attackers, but Denmark doesnt like it and they catch the break working for their Quick Step sprinter Alex Rasmussen.
More attacks come and in the end there's a groupe of 10 riders that get's away. The riders are Eisel, van Hout, Traksel, Krivtsov, Nordhaug, Rudnicki, Napolitano, Albasini, Retschke and Barbose. Sabido is following at 40 seconds but after a few km he makes it to the groupe as well.
With 160km to go the gap is at 10 minutes, and that is the sign for Belgium to send their riders up front to make sure the gap doesnt grow any further. And instead, it even goes down slowly. When the gap is down to 6 minutes with 120km to go they stop, but Denmark continues they work so with 80km to go the gap is just 4 minutes. This is the sign for allso Denmark to stop, else there will be new attacks.
Then suddenly, with 30km left Trofimof attacks, and he is followed by, yes its him, Boesson Hagen! One of the pre-race favourites attacks. This is a big suprize for all teams and first they don't know what to do. The Belgian teammates have run out of energy so the chasing has to be done by other teams, but they aren't going fast.
With 22km and just one lap to go Trofimov and Hagen catch the break, they now have 1'14 lead over the peloton. It's immediatly obvious they are ten times stronger the the break as 6 of them are dropped rigth away and the remaining 5 are dropped not much later.
Trofimov and Hagen are so strong they even are riding away from the peloton. Since they are teammates they won't slow down so it seems, they are gonna battle for the title. The Belgian crowd doesnt seem to be too happy about this.
With 10km Left they have a lead of 2 minutes! But at this points, the Belgian leaders get to the front and make a train for Tom Boonen. The plan was to make a train Gilbert - Claeys - Steegmans - Boonen, but for some reason, the Belgian cycling union didnt select Steegmans for the worlds, and he is replaced by Roelands. However, he is too youngh and cant keep up the Gilberts amazing speed, so there is no sprinter to lead out Boonen. Like this its going to be hard for him to even take 3rd place.
So the train now is Gilbert - Claeys - Boonen - Sutton - Alzate - Rasmussen - Ciolek - Davis.
Up front, the 2 escapees are close to the finish and it's Hagen who'll lead out Trofimov. Hagen however, is a world class sprinter, while Trofimov is so-so. This should be no problem for Edvald.
And indeed, Edvald Boasson Hagen is the 2010 World Champion, while his teammate Trofimoc is 2nd. They both seem pleased with this result and immediatly after the finish they shake hands. This is how the Quick Step managers likes it!
Behind them, Gilbert was going so fast, he created a gap. The Frenchman Feillu joined the train on the last moment and they now have a gap to the pack. Claeys is trying hard to lead out Boonen, but he isnt fast enough and with still 2km to go Boonen goes for it.
But he's able to hold off the others so Boonen is 3rd while Sutton takes 4th before Rasmussen(5th).
The sprint from the peloton is between Pozzato and Valverde and it's Pozzato who wins it. All the prizes are given away already though.
Boonen however, doesn't seem to be too happy with the result and he step towards Hagen and Trofimov and shouts something at them. This should have been his race in his country. This is where I had to step in to prevent him from punshing anyone. He was really mad to not take the jersey. After giving away the Belgian champs to Gilbert because he thought he'd become world champ and he wouldnt be able to wear both anyway. But now a teammate takes this as well he's not happy. I told him however to go for the White Pro Tour jersey next season and he accepts that. Let's hope he's still motivated for the races that still come.

the level would not have affected the results in the worlds that much, as both ITT and road where not won by a belgian. So in fact I didnt win the worlds. I suck
but I will be playing extreme anyway from now on |

I'm not saying that you should play in Extreme because you are a good/bad player... I'm just saying that because you have an awesome team that has to and will win everything and the story would get dull very soon if you didn't change the difficulty level...

Boonen has gona on vacation allready, but for the rest we are on full strength.
Because of that other teams let us do the work, which resulted in a break in the pack on the big cobbeld section in the middle of the race. Unluckly, fresh world champion Hagen fell, so we had to wait for him.
When he got back, we created another break.
More and more ridere where dropped untill only Trofimov, Ulissi, Vanspeybrouck and O'Grady where left. Hagen wasn't good enough today unfortunatly. Because O'Grady is the best sprinter, we sent Trofimov on attack.
He is however caugth by O'grady and they will sprint for the win.
And it's O'Grady who is the winner today. He was obviously better then our team as Trofimov was our only rider able to attack and he could stay away.
Result
1 Stuart O'Grady LIQUIGAS 5h23'06
2 Yuri Trofimov QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t.
