The only guys who haven't finished that I can think of that are good in prologues are Hushovd, McGee (both on the course now) and Pereiro

suddenly the channel switched to the Middlesbrough game, and RAI switched to the Milan game and I'm reduced to watching that tiny pixelated square at cycling.tv

I doubt he stands much chances against Cancellara at 100%. |

But remember, Cancellara will probably not be at 100% by then seeing as how is achieving top form earlier this season...

The tour is in July. he has more than enough time to peak, take a rest and build top form again

It's not that easy to peak twice in a season... I know Cancellara's peaks are different because he is only peaking for a couple of classics and in July for a single stage of the TdF but it is very hard to peak this early in the season and then be able to acheive the same level in July...
I'm not saying it's impossible but surely it's not easy...

He peaked 3 times 2 seasons ago (one of them was for nothing because he got left out of the Tour team. said Riis "because there's no TTT this year)
last year he almost did the same.

Yup, cobbled classics, in TdF and in TT W-C.

Usually it takes about 8 to 10 weeks between two real form peaks (meaning necessary time to rest after peaking then building another form peak), which leaves him enough time to peak three times, for Roubaix, for the TDF first week then for the WC ITT. |

some random channel called "sputnik" was supposed to be showing it, but it's not. if it starts, I'll post the link here
Random? RANDOM? Sputnik is TV2's internet channel. And TV2 is Denmark's 2nd largest TV station |

So it's even more irrelevant than I thought?
Also, it didn't work the whole time.

Hushovd takes Paris-Nice opener
Hushovd powered in to win the prologue at Paris-Nice
Thor Hushovd (Credit Agricole) cut through blasting winds and a wet course Sunday to win the opening prologue at the 66th Paris-Nice.
The mostly flat 4.6km course across the wind-blown fields near Amilly wasn't very technical and favored Hushovd's powerful style. Winner of the 2006 opening prologue in the Tour de France, Hushovd won in 5 minutes, 28 seconds.
Basque rider Markel Irizar (Euskaltel-Euskadi), perhaps no stranger to wet and windy roads, set an early fast time of 5:33 that withstood challenges from the top favorites and settled into second. Stefan Schumacher (Gerolsteiner) and Brad McGee (CSC) tied for third at 5:34.
Danny Pate (Slipstream-Chipotle) led the American contingent with a rock solid sixth at 5:35. Tyler Farrar (Slipstream-Chipotle) crashed on a corner about 2km to go, but managed to finish in last place more than three minutes slower.
David Millar (Slipstream-Chipotle), winner of last year's prologue, didn't take any chances on slick corners and stopped the clock 11 seconds off the winning pace.
Other favorites also refused to take unnecessary risks on roads dampened by rain that fell during about the first 40 or so riders.
Cadel Evans (Silence-Lotto), second overall in last year's Tour, lost 17 seconds. Davide Rebellin (Gerolsteiner), second overall last year, stopped the clock 27 seconds off the pace while Frank Schleck (CSC), a climber who will be dangerous on Mont Ventoux, ceded 34 seconds.
The 66th Paris-Nice continues Monday with the rolling 184.5km first stage from Amilly to Nevers that concludes with a difficult final sprint with a rising finish over the final 800m with an average grade of 7.1 percent..
