It's just a huge daily form difference, with people having +4/+5 and -4/-5 I suppose. Chances on that are low but if a +5 happens the differences can be big. (It was made bigger from PCM 14 onwards I believe).
Yeah stuff like this could happen
What are the odds that both Coppel and Phinney have -5? I don't buy it. I can buy wind, seeing as the early guys seemed to do better, but it doesn't make sense that the two best (by quite some margin) timetriallists can't even get a top 10 because they just have a "bad day".
I get your frustration here. I know we had some more random results in (short) TTs this year, but i've never experienced such an outcome. Phinney is just senseless, if wind hasn't been a factor. Also Coppel of course.. I may be drunk, but that's weird, to say at least. I see my TTT win goal(s) fading away, but I've never experienced such a randomness even with PCM14 - so here is hoping it will be an exception.
Must be happy with a 4th place then. But Metinvest just got ridicolous here
Still no comment from Avin, maybe his wifey turned off internet after he didn't stop celebrating and jumping around and do whatever Czech people do when they are happy (drinking?)
"It’s a little bit scary when Contador attacks." - Tommy V
We Czechs always drink Shonak, no matter if we are sad or happy.
Funnily enough, i was drinking a bit of Becherovka with tonic yesterday...
What is frustration for many is maybe our best moment in whole man-game, what a day for a cycling passion project from Ukraine. Thanks a lot for the congrats, Zmorka is with our team since lvl1 and some managers wondering who he is should learn his name, as he is best TT prospect in the game and will be 82 TT next year.
He aint no nobody, he has 80TT, which is not extreme gap to the top of TT field. I feel like his 36th place from last TT was bigger shock then this win really. Ignatiev, he is my legend now, thanks good i was not listening to suggestions to get rid of him.
Ofc TTs (and not only these) are horribly random in PCM14 as we could see right from the first one in Qatar. As i said to SotD recently, maybe Coppel was only lucky in first two cases and had a solid daily form, which turned arond for this race. All of us will most likely have lucky and unlucky days in TTs this year. We had a bad luck in first two and good luck now.
As i said many times in the past, it does not make sense for me, why flat stat is not used for flat TTs and it leaves only TT stat+daily form as benchmark, which leads to horrible randomness. In the past, also acceleration and resistance stats were used iirc. That seems deactivated now...ask Cyanide.
Ok, back to partying! Awesome last two races for us, with cobbled races coming i am pretty optimistic about our season for a change. Thanks for the report

Who the hell is Zmorka, or whatever his name is? Incredible. Sounds 'wrong' if the wind didn't change during the race. A combination of that + daily form is believeable.

Of course if we will have the money, but i plan to train only him and Grosu in the future, as those are the faces of Metinvest franchise.
Let's just hope ITT's will be more predictable in the upcoming editions of PCM As it stands right now, I'm already thinking of switching our main focus next year (even though I hadn't such a disastrous Chrono as Coppel/Phinney)..
