Sell or swap? What is the preferred option?

Well I really have no idea, I don't know how to gauge the market since with this break no teams specified what riders they are looking to buy/sell. I probably will be inclined for more for swaps since I dont have anyone in my team worth training for this year, but that could change in transfers.
I'd just like to say, I wrote that post when I heard Benoot was shit, I've forgiven them a bit now However still doesn't change the fact all riders are still for sale, but I really have no idea where the team will go at the moment, no concrete plans.
With Madrazo and Cicero being too unpredictable it's hard to gauge anything in this team so transfers will be spontaneous with no set targets, for now.

Interesting. I will be interested (I think) in riders such as Marc Goos, Kenneth Vanbilsen and possibly Thomas Degand obviously depending on wages. I think riders like Riccardo Ricco, Markus Eibegger, Enrico Gasparotto and possibly Alexis Gougeard and Martin Hacecký could be for sale in my team.

Be careful with those pre transfer posts.
Some might be a bit too far into trade/swap ideas already, which are supposed to wait until the transfer season itself. |

As long as we only show interest in certain riders and explain which riders are likely to leave our own team, how is that not OK? If we do it in public that is?
I am definately not making any deals before the transferperiod is kicked off - and like I suggested last season there should also be a dead period where people are not allowed to discuss anything whilst everyone have time to read the rules and get a "green flag" for the transfers. Last season I came into the off season 2 hours after the rules were uploaded, and I missed out on one of my favorite loanies because of that.

Indeed there will be such dead period at the start of transfers.
What I meant with going a bit too far was, that mentioning, who might be available is okay, but posting those in another HQ in the same sentence with who is of nice interest leads to some combination.
Better name your available riders in your HQ only until the transfer season starts. |

Kids, few lessons for you:
Never invest in talents.
Most pointless development of them in 3 years.
Get good old riders and be competitive every season.
Instead of wasting few seasons.
Follow these rules.
Been a fun journey, 2 titles, good fun allround, thanks peeps.

Here's my rant
Rule like this can't be added out of nowhere. It should have been gradual and told to people last year, so people with lots of talents could have reacted accordingly. With no prior knowledge of this rule, I think it's clear as day to see which team benefited the most from this sudden change in rules which was never communicated to anyone.
How come was this never mentioned? So much discussion prior to off-season and then boom. One paragraph in renewals. Riders want more money now which hurts talents the most by far.
Anyway mentioning it off-season shouldn't have mattered, if such rule was to be implemented it should have been already mentioned last transfer season and implemented over time.

I agree... It does spoil the fun, that you spent 3 seasons (2 years IRL time) to build a team, twice getting fuckhold in the PT rankings because of the rebuild, only to see the team torn apart the very season it was build for. I build my team in '13 season with SEVERAL riders being level 1 and thus being loaned out, and others being used in the PT while having no level for it. Two seasons in a row we managed to get the worst results in our time (I think it was). Then my team got extremely luck (combined with good planning) to win the PT last season, while the plan was to target the win this season.
OK I thought, that probably means that I have to let go of Ricco and just sign 1 or 2 domestiques instead. But no. It meant missing Ricco + one of my best talents or atleast two of the secondary ones (whom were also planned well ahead)... I knew that Season '17 was going to be difficult, and that I probably had to let a few riders go there, but then I would have the money to train some of my other talents. So it was kinda planned. And then suddenly (out of nowhere) a new rule emerges which makes riders that have proven little to nothing, to ask for similar money as riders that have proven their level and have had similar stats for years.
I'm not going to mention specific wages on riders obviously, but riders that I normally could have signed for 75-90K went for 150K, riders I could have normally signed for 120K went for 170-190K and riders I could have normally signed for 300-340K went for 480K.
My level 4.00-4.100 riders generally doubled their wages. Few of them with any reason...
