I have honestly no clue, it was just a lame reference to TdF
Anyways, Omloop seems like far and away the better races between the do. Hoping for Sagan. |

Sagan doesn't normally race these two races, unless he feels it's a better preparation for the Milan-San Remo which is always one of his main targets of the season. |

Sagan will top 5 these two but not win, details like him not riding will have no effect on this.
On another note I'm looking forward to the freight trains coming to the fore - go Stannard in particular. |

He wouldn't have won anyway.
The real cycling seasons starts now. And we have the prospect of some of the best racing in years this year, with a lot of talent for the cobbles.
And, the UCI told the E3 organisers to remove the promotional board for the race, with the girl's butt in it.

Lol first IAM jersey, now this. I'm glad UCI has no other issues to deal with.
Speaking of UCI, anyone knows how they will handle the "not riding on side-roads" this year. Though it's a rule, however pointless it may be, they didn't seem to care at all last year.

I remember it in the final of Kuurne last year, when the entire leader group used a bike path to avoid a cobbled zone. DSQ the entire lead group would have been the correct call, but yeah..
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I might be the only one. But I find this decision important and absolutely correct.
That said indeed they should be more strict in other areas as well. |

Got to say I love all the hopping about from road to bike path to pavement etc. so long as it's done with common sense and isn't wreckless of course.
The rule probably would have been better focusing on dangerous riding or corner cutting maybe though anything would have a big fat grey area incorporated - the only consistency being zero enforcement of the rule perhaps? |

If you're referring to the race promotional image (and not the riding on the side path they were also discussing) I agree completely as well.
As for the side path, I don't know. Using barely legal parts of the course is a tried and true tradition of the sport. Think Mahe. I did this Crit up in Baltimore a few times, where they had this, well basically this chicane corner, leading into about 300m of 3-5% incline and then the ramp up to the finish that hit 6-7%, creating a wonderful end to the course. The year before I first ran it, apparently the elite guys just cut straight across the chicane on the grass so as to not lose speed for the run up, so they had to put cones down to force them to stay on the asphalt. |

Indeed the race banner was meant.
The riding on the side was one of things that were meant with the 2nd part. Even though it must be considered if the rule does make sense or not. But as long as there is a rule, it should be the same for everyone. |

Looking forward to Omloop - Quickstep usually take it a bit easy on the first set of classics. Don't know about this year though, it is the missing one from Boonan's set.
Cannot believe Wiggins is anywhere near to prime form for these yet.
Thinking a Lotto rider may surprise?

I bet on Vanmarcke for the win and Stybar for a top 3. LottoNL doesn't have much to look forward to this year, unless one of a few riders finally reaches his potential or totally surprises, so I think they might target the likes of Omloop for results. As for Stybar, as you said Quickstep generally doesn't target the race, so I was thinking Stybar might be able to really ride for himself (whereas he'll probably be a bit more under team orders for RvV and PR). |
