Excellent stage for Grashev... Throws up some memories of Dunkerque (which went horribly in the end)... Lets keep it going and hope he can hang on in to replicate his Eneco Tour result (6th place) and keep our hopes alive

Rough on Puma to mistime the leadout and hang Cioleck out to dry like that. Nice sprint for Napolitiano. Valverde will be disappointed though.

Damn, no stage win, no yellow jersey (you definitely got that wrong in the report). Especially after such a great leadout and Napolitano starting pretty far back, that was a missed easy shot.
On the other hand, a steady influx of bonus seconds is the primary goal here, and Bar really shone here.
If it only wasn't Meiji taking many points here, it'll be hard to overtake them in the rankings this way.
We should get a few seconds out of Meiji in the TTT, so Ciolek needs to stay within Napo's reach in the next two stages.
Yellow into the cobbled stage could easily decide between a good GC position and not even a Top 30 overall.

Goss not right there yet... But Del Nero doing well, as well as Olman. The latter though will never be a GC threat i fear
Goss needs to do better and if Del Nero avoids splits, he may be our GC man, if the cobbles will be ridden as cobbles later on

Strong sprint by Steegmans and even Nuyens! Good omen for the big cobble stage.

Yeah, he has no overall rankings goal while I have a Top 10 goal, so he should really gift me his points

Maksimov 43rd. Just great.
I didn't expect him to do really well, just a top 10 would be nice

Very interesting to see Grashev up to 3rd. Will Boeing AI do the clever thing and still focus on Thomas on the main cobbled stage?

Grashev launches Thomas to the Stage win and GC lead, whilst sticking in the main group himself to stay in the Top10 GC. From there we stay up and everything is happy happy. *pointless optimism*

For all the hate this version of PCMs AI gets, atleast this stage ended in a sprint. I know in past versions, that small bit of cobbles at the start would have been enough for the cobblers to go crazy and everyone else to do nothing. I suppose its nice to get a stage win and take the GC lead, despite what I said earlier too. Napo is going to decline anyway, so if he asks for too much, it makes my decision easier.

That's the one thing the man-game is missing, teams and riders paying each other off for results. We should totally find a way to implement it.
I also enjoy how everyone focuses on doping and then acts like this doesn't happen, except the whole Vino-Kolobnev thing. Honestly, out of all the races in the year, I'm willing to bet more are affected by selling support or results than by doping. |

Another good stage for Nolan Hoffman, only a bit shame that he got robbed for that 3rd place and bonus seconds by Steegmans (he will haunt me all year).
Hoffman likes the wheel of Ciolek and that is how i like it.
Anyway our GC chances should be later destroyed by cobbles and TTT (worst Metinvest TTT lineup ever to be seen), so i am happy at least for these nice stage results. Congrats to Meiji, i dont like how close are you coming to our possible top10 placement, together with Puma.

why is this race with an 1km prologue?
and does that even work well with the standings?
isn't every rider almost on the same time on that race? |

Why shouldn`t there be a 1km prologue?
I mean there are small gaps obviously:
Spoiler 1 | Michael Ford | Oz Cycling Project | 1'15 | 2 | Miles Olman | Oz Cycling Project | + 2 | 3 | JÃri Hochmann | Team Ameriabank-Novatek | s.t. | 4 | Metkel Kiflay | Project: Africa | s.t. | 5 | Nick Clesen | Kazzinc Procycling | s.t. | 6 | Jaime Alberto Castañeda | Allianz-BMW Cycling Team | s.t. | 7 | William Ford | Oz Cycling Project | + 3 | 8 | Bojan Djurdjic | Team Nordeus | s.t. | 9 | Enrico Franzoi | Team Hornbach | s.t. | 10 | Bryan Coquard | Quickstep | s.t. | 11 | Mark Cavendish | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | s.t. | 12 | Andriy Vasylyuk | Metinvest-Emirates | s.t. | 13 | Martin Velits | Team Ameriabank-Novatek | s.t. | 14 | Martin Wesemann | Project: Africa | s.t. | 15 | Dylan Van Baarle | Team Puma - SAP | s.t. | 16 | Luca Sterbini | Kazzinc Procycling | + 4 | 17 | Jasha Sütterlin | Team Puma - SAP | s.t. | 18 | Dominique Rollin | RBC Pro Cycling | s.t. | 19 | Jay Thomson | Project: Africa | s.t. | 20 | Spas Gyurov | Boeing-Bulgaria Bicycling | s.t. |
But what is the problem with this?
There are several stages with time bonusses, cobbles as also another TT. So the prologue is not really important for the GC but gives prologue specialist a chance to win. |

Because of Michael Ford to win it!
Goss though... Hate missing bonus seconds in races like that. At least a strong finish, but he's still not right here with his head. I will remind him of races like that and Danmark when it comes to the off-season talks

It really is pointless having hopes of a good result now Oh well, it's not going to change anything really. I am looking forward to finally reshaping things after transfers.
Actually happy Ciolek is doing something for Puma. Nice reward for the mystical comeback from Cio

Sparling in the break, good. Hornbach not getting much in the sprint, good. Grashev still Top3, good. Overall, good. Good...
