Bardet's main objectives in the spring will be Paris-Nice and Catalunya. I could imagine he would take part of the ardennes, but it doesnt say anything about it and I could be wrong. |

So at this point, I only need the Porte and Esteban Chaves. Feel free to tell me to add riders to the list |

Isn't Froome,Quintana and Contador going to the Andalucia?
And aren't you missing Kreuziger from the list?

Andalucia is just a prep race. Kreuziger can't race yet, his situation is unclear at the moment.

Yeah, I could have added Andalucia since many of these riders actually participate, but I chose only to include the biggest races. And yeah, Kreuziger isnt allowed to race atm. Maybe he will be since he passed the lie detector. |

I remember him as one of the few active riders (or was it Barguil?) in the big fest of boredom '14 that was L-B-L, so I hope he'll be in shape for Ardennes this year as well.

No, I referred to either Barguil or Bardet, I mix them up on a daily basis. I'm aware that Pozzovivo was up with Caruso till the end.

Im pretty sure it was Bardet, I remember him finishing in the top-10 in L-B-L. I could be wrong, but check out procyclingstats
Apart from that, just remember that Bardet clearly is the more talented not just of those 2, but of all the frenchmen. |

Dno where to put it, so imma just put it here. Some good reading of what to expect in February and as the article sums up, Andalucia is the race to watch this month. Froome, Contador and Quintana going head to head in what seems to be a very difficult race. Jean-Christophe Peraud, Romain Bardet, Bauke Mollema, Daniel Navarro, Frank Schleck, Haimar Zubeldia, Pierre Rolland, Jurgen Van Den Broeck, Fabio Aru, Wilco Kelderman, Steven Kruijswijk, Laurens Ten Dam, Sergio Pardilla, David Arroyo and Janez Brajkovic also attends, so lots of starpower here.
The other race which is interesting to me is the Oman which basically have the other half of the big stage racers attending: Valverde, Nibali and Rodriguez headlines it with Warren Barguil, Thibaut Pinot, Tejay van Garderen, Rigoberto Uran, Mathias Frank, Roman Kreuziger and Leopold König attending as well. |

I'm rather surprised that Froome won't ride Tour of Oman this year. Andalucia should be a goodie then.

Andalucia WILL be a goodie. Also, the one day races in Mallorca start tomorrow. Day 1 and 4 are for the sprinters, while day 2 and 3 are for puncheurs and climbers. Not a particular good lineup, but Valverde will at least be there. Wouldnt surprise me to see him win at least one of them |

Rolland with a crash in his first race of the season in Besseges. Apparently he has hurt his sacrum and coccyx. Hope this won't affect his preparations too much, but he has arrived last on that stage, 14 minutes down.
(Figure this thread is worth to be keep track of the progress of the GC contenders as well in terms of smaller results, injuries, to estimate form, peaks et cetera)

Either way, I cant really remember him doing well in the spring and unfortunately he doesnt do the Giro, so I dont think it will matter much.
And yeah, it is thought of that way, pretty much anything regarding riders capable of 3 weeks stage racing. Andalucia and Oman will give the first little indication as pretty much everyone of those riders mentioned in the first post will attened (probably a few at Algarve as well). Should be some days of racing there from that perspective. |

Valverde wont do the T-A and instead only opting for Catalunya before the ardennes.
Paris-Nice is approaching and we dont have to put up with a route like last year. This year features some nice mountains and plenty of ITT kilometres. Some updates on some of the favourites:
- Aru and Talansky seems to be the only ones which havent raced before Paris - Nice. That doesnt necessarily mean they wont do well, but I wont count on them.
- Schleck and Peraud shouldnt be expected too much of either. Schleck has been injured and Peraud have had a rough winter.
- Valls, Dennis, Taramae, Geraint Thomas, Sepulveda and Ruben Fernandez have all performed well early in hilly/mountain races and will enter the top-10 discussions as outsiders, maybe even more.
- Tejay and Porte have both been splendid early and will surely in my opinion be the 2 favourites, in part due to the ITTs. Majka, Costa and Bardet should be able to contend for the overall as well.

Hm, from the looks of it, I'd definitely say Porte in P-N, he's in a good year again and looked very solid in Down Under after all. However Van Garderen could really use a big GC World Tour win by now, and since the top tier riders are in Tirreno again this year, it's his best shot this year I guess?
If Fernandez performs well, that'd be great. Stage win please. Same goes for Aru, however is likely going to be a bit of a Nibali, with two ultra peaks this year. A bit typical italian, Basso-style.
So, I'm not exactly sure about the profile of Paris-Nice and not too much bothered to look it up, but just in general wondering, what about Tom Jelte Slagter and one and only Betancur? I know Betancur sucked in San Luis but hey, maybe he's on a roll again like last year, although the profile suits him far less. Meanwhile, Slagter took two(?) stage wins last year and I think he only didn't podium GC because of a flat or a crash, so if Tom is in such a fantastic form like in 2014, he'd be top gun for the hillier stages since the GC line-up lacks fast finishers anyway.
