Powerhouse leadout from Vueling. Congratulations, CrueTrue!
Good to see both Antón and Contador safe through, if it wasn't for the time trial, Antón's high placing on flat stages would be handy thinking of the minor GC placings.
Just one more flat stage to go before the real action begins, fingers crossed we get through that one safe as well! |

Actually, I think Vanmarcke was one of the ones to crashed.
I think it is just AI that was the problem at the end for the group behind - the whole group just sat up and gave up. Nothing to infer from that about whether anyone is injured or not.

Decent 3rd place, but yet again with Ratiy crashing. It's 2/3 for him now in the races where he was set to be captain. That really sucks, because he did very well on the first mountainstage.

Your riders are always crashing SotD :-p I can't remember him crashing for me
My riders are pretty silent now, most likely saving power to help Monsalve... We need every rider left for that... (tbh I hope he attacks early as my riders wont be able to give him a lot of help anyway...)

Yeah my team seems to be very unfortunate when it comes to crashing leaders. In terms of Ratiy it is less important though, as he isn't in a condition to make top results, but I was kinda pissed when Ricco crashed out of the Giro.

Nothing to complain about on latest stage. De Bie in break - always nice to see a guy in the break when you have a major GC threat, shows potential for later on.
Also Alarcon finishes 7th in the sprint, I cannot really imagine the abandoned (and in a warehouse in Colombia somewhere being questioned) Santos making much better than 4th against the three big sprinters left so I am not losing much by not having Santos there.
Festina have had some terrible crashes over the years for sure, I wonder whether it really does even itself out. I don't recall too many crashes that we have had - that said we have rarely had a GC candidate for a a lengthy tour. Gadret crashes in the Tour of Langkawi a couple of years back and Cancellara suffered in a Paris Roubaix but not as major as losing a Ricco or Contador in a big Tour.
As you say though SotD Ratiy really is small fry - I should sell him to Rothaus they like a GC rider who finishes between 10th and 25th

Ratiy is nice for his usage. Good climber support in PT, and a Top 5/10 GC rider PCT on a low wage. I bought him for his wage earlier and I think thats the same reason Sotd wanted him.

Thanks for the gif. Exactly how I looked like when reading.
But Keizer and Gomez Marchante usually did beat Ratiy this year. So no need.
Plus I do like it this year. Next year would be hugely disappointing. And I built my team mainly for next year. |

I bought him for two reasons. The primary was to have a low wage subtop climber help Spilak, and secondarily because I needed a short term rider to perform regularly top 20s in small GC races, while waiting for Lecuisinier to take his place.
Im fairly sure that I will sell him again, unless his wage drops even further.
And to Smowz. Im pretty sure it hasnt level out yet. Some teams have dodged bad luck more consistantly. Or I might be mistaken. A team such as Wikipedia seems to dodge better than most teams. I Think some 5 teams have been hit hard in the time I have played, including my team. Whether it makes much of a difference, though, I dont know :-)

Fantastic stage for us. Amazing performance by Demare and Keukeleire. Can't wait to see if I can make something like that for Tzortzakis next year. He should be better equipped for a mass sprint of these sorts than Guerao.
2nd is great. I was worried he might fall back to 4th at some point, and then to see Demare and Keukeleire stay in the mix aswell is beautiful. Ratiy was in the pack this season, so I can hope he isn't injured - If that is the case then top 25 should still be possible.

Kennaugh!
Nice to see Festina with a good stage, too. Tough luck for Brajkovic though, but better in a wildcard race than in PCT i guess

Tough luck for Brajkovic there.
Kreder definitely not good enough yet. Probably he's going to need some training after he's max-outed as well.

Kennaugh must be really enjoying that colombian coffee, eh
Thanks for another stage, SN, but bring me some more of those mountains.

Such a shame to see Brajkovic down and lose time. But just wow for Kennaugh and the show he and Vueling makes of these flat stages, congratulations, CrueTrue!
And great to be done with the flat stages, really looking forward to more mountains. Hopefully Contador picks the right moments to attack. |

Well, I really didn't expect to see my Syrian lead-out sprinter mentioned in a report so close to finish already in this season! But even with him in my sprint train and with a great help of Westley Gough Howard was able to be 3rd here. Nice stage for my team!

Hahaha Wellens-Boeckmans-Stallaert will have to go down as one of the more unusual sprint trains of the season. Great ride from Stallaert though.

Those screenshots from stage 3 ... a thing of beauty!
Excellent by Kennaugh, lovely to get some rare stage wins. He probably won't make it through the entire race, but it's safe to say I'm happy either way. |

Another good stage for us. I'm mostly amazed with Machado's productivity. We've had some good results with him, but this is the first time where he seems to enjoy being the aggressor.
The fight for the win is shaping up beautifully with all those mountains stages still left to come, and yet so little gaps.
