Well in the first season of the ame Porte finished the Giro 3rd behind Nibali and Betancur.
And Cavendish didn't race the Tour because kubys was inactive and he didn't send squads.
Btw,our team is interested in Kwiatek

Really? I thought I did answer. Sorry for that, but he wasn't available, so no big deal.

Still some useful leaders, Martin can get you the stage wins, Boonen cobbles and Kwiat stage races and hills. Porte will mean you have a 2nd GT guy, so you could still do good, but I do think last year's team had more potential. Kubys was in the lead for a good part of the season, and I don't think this squad can do the same. Still, top 5 should definitely be possible
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Our season started with the Santos Tour Down Under. With Porte, Dennis and last years winner Meersman, we where quite sure, that we could pull of some nice results here.
On the first stage, Howson made it in the break.
The Stage didn't end well for us.
Stage Results
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Benedikt Weschenbach | Sky Procycling | 2h58'15 | 13 | Gianni Meersman | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 18 | Jan Bakelants | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 24 | Richie Porte | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 70 | Damien Howson | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 81 | Campbell Flakemore | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 90 | Rohan Dennis | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 141 | Gert Steegmans | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
Stage 2 was even worse with Howson crashing.
Gianni was the best with a horrid 18th place.
18 | Gianni Meersman | Omega Pharma - Quick•Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
we don't want to mention the other riders, since they were rubbish that stage.
Stage 3 was rubbish, too, since Bakelants finished 15th.
15 | Jan Bakelants | Omega Pharma - Quick•Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
I told the riders to change something, because we were in serious trouble. Dennis decided on stage 4, to get in the break.
The break comes through, but Dennis is the last of the break today. But a 7th place is a step forward.
7 | Rohan Dennis | Omega Pharma - Quick•Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
On the Last Stage, we tried everything with Bakelants. And yet we failed to deliver.
9 | Jan Bakelants | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
Meaning, that he ends up 10th in the GC. with 1 minute behind.
GC
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Alexander Kristoff | Katusha Team | 16h42'38 | 2 | Simon Gerrans | Orica - GreenEdge | + 10 | 3 | Arthur Vichot | FDJ.fr | + 12 | 4 | Rajesh Kakhi | Team Champion System | + 16 | 5 | Daniel Moreno | Team Tinkoff - Saxo | s.t. | 6 | Davide Villella | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 45 | 7 | Enrico Gasparotto | Astana Pro Team | + 50 | 8 | Ion Izagirre | Euskaltel - Euskadi | + 1'00 | 9 | Gregory Bernard | Colombia | s.t. | 10 | Jan Bakelants | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 11 | Robert Gesink | Belkin Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 12 | Christian Schroder | Team Europcar | + 1'50 | 13 | Lachlan Morton | Drapac Cycling | + 2'24 | 14 | Benedikt Weschenbach | Sky Procycling | + 2'39 | 15 | Jelle Vanendert | Lotto Belisol | + 2'49 |
In the KoM, Howson finishes 3rd.
KoM
Rank | Name | Team | Mountain | 1 | Pyroli Feunard | CCC Polsat - Polkowice | 26 | 2 | Caleb Ewan | Orica - GreenEdge | 20 | 3 | Damien Howson | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | 12 | 4 | Lachlan Morton | Drapac Cycling | 10 | 5 | Enrico Gasparotto | Astana Pro Team | 10 |
And in the Team Rankings, we finish 5th overall
Teams
Rank | Team | Time | 1 | FDJ.fr | 50h15'12 (1) | 2 | Team Tinkoff - Saxo | + 0 (2) | 3 | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 2'20 (3) | 4 | Orica - GreenEdge | + 2'44 (4) | 5 | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | + 3'23 (5) |
But wait. There is one more stage to go. A flat stage. A sprtint stage.
And Bakelants finishes 13th in the leading group.
13 | Jan Bakelants | Omega Pharma - Quick•Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
Which puts him 8th in the GC
GC
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Alexander Kristoff | Katusha Team | 18h26'59 | 2 | Simon Gerrans | Orica - GreenEdge | + 16 | 3 | Arthur Vichot | FDJ.fr | + 18 | 4 | Rajesh Kakhi | Team Champion System | + 22 | 5 | Daniel Moreno | Team Tinkoff - Saxo | s.t. | 6 | Davide Villella | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 51 | 7 | Enrico Gasparotto | Astana Pro Team | + 56 | 8 | Jan Bakelants | Omega Pharma - Quick•Step Cycling Team | + 1'06 | 9 | Ion Izagirre | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 10 | Gregory Bernard | Colombia | s.t. | 11 | Robert Gesink | Belkin Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 12 | Christian Schroder | Team Europcar | + 1'56 | 13 | Benedikt Weschenbach | Sky Procycling | + 2'45 | 14 | Jelle Vanendert | Lotto Belisol | + 2'55 | 15 | Adrien Hanzen | BMC Racing Team | + 4'43 |
Also OPQS overtakes their main rivals to a 4th place in the Team Standings.
Teams
Rank | Team | Time | 1 | Team Tinkoff - Saxo | 55h28'33 (1) | 2 | FDJ.fr | + 0 (2) | 3 | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 2'20 (3) | 4 | Omega Pharma - Quick•Step Cycling Team | + 3'23 (4) | 5 | Belkin Pro Cycling Team | + 3'56 (5) |
After the Santos Tour Down Under, those were the provisional Rankings. Note, how we beat Novo Nordisk by 1 point. Or Main Rivals are marked red.

You, sir, had your team ahead of ours last year. And since we like Sky(OP Teams hold together) and we like BMC, you are a "possible to beat" target. Lotto is just the Nr. 2 Belgian Team. And we want to be the best belgian Team.

"Hardman Hatanaka at Omega-Pharma Quickstep
"Kamikaze!
It isn't as bad as you might think. Its good for us, at OPQS, but also great for our second rider in our youth program, Tomohori Hatanaka, also known as Hardman Hatanaka. We helped him to get rid of PCT Teams and join the big League. We hope that he can make an impact on the big Stage. We think it was the right decision for both sides. He needed a Team where he could develop himself and we could need some young talented rider who likes to go in breakaways. After several weeks of negotiations with J7Sports, the deal was made. We wish you good luck and Namaste!"

Hardman Hatanaka - Blog
Hello folks, I'm Tomohori Hatanaka and I'm a barodeur from Japan! I come to OPQS from Drapac, bringing 18 Race days with me.
On my racing background, I've had domestique roles in the Tour de San Luis and more importantly the E3-Harelbreke, as well as a free role in the Tour de Langkawi, where I pricked up my best results to date, a few stage top 20s, four breakaways, 44th in GC, 36th in the points classification, 5th in KoM and 14th in Young riders.
I'm very glad OPQS have given me this opportunity to ride in the WT and improve myself here at one of the world's best teams.
Until the next time,
Tomohori

Aufrazian Champs: Young Fighter 'Ready For It'
Young gun Tomohori "Hardman" Hatanaka is definitely ready for his last two races at Drapac before his big-time break at OPQS.
'I'm definitely ready to test myself against the big guns, be that attacking or working for my team in the road race,' says the 18-year-old 'Endurance has been my big focus so hopefully I can last a while and do comes whatever, because comes whatever, comes. For the TT it's just seeing how I do, I've only done one with the pros back in San Luis, it was nothing special if I rightly remember. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing off the Drapac jersey in a good way.' |

Sorry about that, but joining Paul's team was always going to be a risk. If you find a new team by tomorrow morning, it's ok for me to change again.

Hm, but you know how much I love OPQS. Sadly it did only last for one season half.
