Oh Goody, Haussler is crap again
He has redeemed himself a bit here. Hopefully he can either hang on or gain places in the GC tomorrow - a stage win could get him 4th and the points classification. Turgot and Boroš doing nicely as well. |

Absolutely pathetic. No words really. A stage that has cobbles even uphill and doesn't create any selection whatsoever
Most ridiculous. I'll just leave.

AMEXpc holds on to Paride Grillo's lead in the Points classification. Grillo finished 10th, but the surprise of the day was Arnaud Godet. Godet who was not in the day's breakaway but at some point must have slipped away to bridge over. In one of the later pictures you can see him at the tail end of the beakaway group.
Godet holds on for a fine 7th place finish, his best performance as a 1st year professional. In a race where we only sent sprinters and kids we picked up 74 points.
The sprint squad was weak, but Grillo made his own way, catching slipstreams when he could and jumping trains when he had to managed to top 10 in all four flat stages. He is showing why AMEXpc let the German Kupfernagel go and signed the Italian Grillo as his replacement.
Combining the Dunkerque and Avila conflicting races, AMEX amassed a very impressive 311 points. AMEX has two more races in the month of May
The Berlin Pro race a sprinters flat course where AMEX's support squad has 6 German (Theo Reinhardt, Rudiger Selig, Michael Kurth, Patrick Gretsch, Daniel Klemme and Dieter Mehr-Winge. Mehr-Winge is here as a warm up to his late season start. He will need to come alive on the Hills in the season's 2nd half.
AMEX's top Sprinter Paride Grillo, in Berlin, will be lead out by American Jake Keough. We do not expect to win in Berlin but we do want to see a top 10 or betting placement. After Berlin we move on to the Czech Republic for a 5 day tour.

ARSE! Absolute arse from Boeing... Thomas was sh*t plain and simple, big waste of his valuable race days. Rest of the squad was pretty quiet and failed to step into the gap... just arse

Hey lazy bastards, could you at least go in breaks like these and not get dropped on a highway bridge the next time?
Thanks Sykkel obviously, great effort recently.
But seriously, less than 2pprd from a HC race...yeah, one without a good squad but we're no Santander.

Well we missed the win goal by one, that's still 15/20 points for the goal which I guess is fair enough for 'win' goal. Still can't help to feel disappointed.
However as always Dunkerque delivers for us. 450 points in just 5 race days is something unrepeatable. All our 8 riders finished within top 25 nice nifty achievement.
Thank you Sykkel for the quality and speed of the reports!

Dolphinately congrats to alakagom. Great result for Quickstep. I'm ok with our performance as well. I do want to see more aggression though.

Wow, can't believe it. Only just realised I was actually in this (to max out, guess who, Tobyn Horton ), check out the races, become satisfied with being in the break twice, and then Horton wins the fucking stage. So happy!

He was there all along. If you look closely, you'll see him in nearly every picture of the breakaway from start to finish. I also mentioned him right beneath the first picture.

Cool race for Oz Really starting to love 1/2 of those cobbled races this year, especially those with hills and Visconti or Del Nero participating.
3rd and 12th in GC is pretty huge stuff. What else could I say?
Congrats to SN and Alakagom in particular, though. Lagab delivered big time and Quickstep with a nice points haul overall. Even though Baugnies didn't really rock it once again.

Shame Nuyens was so passive in stage 4. On such a hard cobble stage he should've easily been able to drop the group he finished in. Disappointing tour for us.
Congrats to SN and Alakagom.

192 points in 5 race days is a pretty good haul, even though Haussler was a bit meh again. Thanks for the fantastic, fast paced reports. |

Lagab
Fantastic ride on Stage 4, breakaway is always worth a gamble on a cobbled stage like that. Wasn't very clever of the peloton to let a rider go in the break who finished 3rd in a PT Cobbled classic earlier in the year! What a season he has had.
2 stage wins, 2 jerseys. Great return from a HC race.
Thanks for the reports Sykkel
