Very interesting article about van Garderen: https://cyclingtips.com.au/2014/06/van...contender/
He has been great so far this year and i expect him to be around the top-5 this year. He sounds very optimistic in this interview about his shape and what he can achieve en July. Definetely looking forward to see what he can after last year.
Keep the news coming! |

Anyone calling Gerrans, ''Gerro'' , beware from now on or you'll get sued:

Not so much about using "Gerro" as using Gerrans as advertising for their product without permission/compensation.

"Talented @GiantShimano rider @WarrenBarguil says to @lequipe he will not do this year's @letour and has an offer from @TeamSky for 2015."
Damn, Shimano going all in for Kittel this Tour. No space for Barguil which indeed is a shame. Sky in the hunt
Also, Sky has reckoned the first 2 stages in England. Video here: https://www.teamsky.com/article/0,2729...69,00.html

I don't understand this tactics for Giant of putting your eggs in one basket (Kittel), imagine if he crashes out then their tour will be over because theres no other option. Should have 1 or 2 climbers or puncheurs in your team. |

Completly agree, there are 3 stages in the Vosgues, 2 in the Alps and 3 in the Pyrenées which totals at 8. Barguil could definetely make something happen in the break on one of those stages, makes no sense to me. |

He's been bound to FDJ forever, although how they'd share duties with Pinot would remain to be seen, I can't see him signing for Sky.
To explain more : his trainer is Julien Pinot, brother of Thibault, and former student of Fred Grappe, also a coach of FDJ.
When Barguil turned pro, he had an opportunity to do it at FDJ but only in August or September, he decided not to wait and signed with Argos-Shimano (or whatever the team name was at that time).
Follow him on twitter and you'll see he often interacts with FDJ guys.
Really, it'd be odd to see him sign elsewhere. |

It's a real shame but perhaps not surprising given he's leaving the team and everyone's already negotiated/negotiating new contracts. |

Well, isn't Degenkolb going? That sounds like a pretty solid plan b to me |

i don't think Degenkolb is a match for Cav or Greipel but he always has a chance you never know. |

He can still beat them on the right day, and he can also climb a bit so can contest the "Sagan stages" |
