A shame that Rodrigues just missed out on the bonus seconds and really frustrated that the gap after 22nd wasn't given as I would have had 5 riders in the front group. |

Hmm, Herklotz already has won a thing in his career. A little bit earlier than I expected, to be honest.

Herklotz
Interesting thing with the time gaps, though I have nothing to complain about as not losing any unnecessary time with Raisin on the hilly stages is a victory in itself. Will be interesting to see if some of my other riders will survive the time check later on in the race, especially Cruz. I want him for that long TT....

39 points from 7 race days so far, he justifies his wage pretty well
I did fancy those first three stages assuming everything stays together, and I guess the hill pace was easy enough to not lose energy, his downhill stat allowed him to preserve it, and his SP and ACC did the rest Ponzi style.
Perfect collaboration of his secondary stats, and Pozdnyakov is not an easy guy to beat
Very strange that our first season win comes from our only lvl 1 rider, and that from a bunch finish and not from a breakaway.
So satisfying though, you can't even imagine

Firrst up, congrats to Herklotz - obviously the first marker point for a great career to come. Excellent report mb - some great camera angles to see multiple views of the pack and break, or detached riders, image set-up and selection top notch (shame so few GNU sightings on stage 1; obviously keeping powder dry for the decision days!).
Not had time to do a HQ preview for TotME, so here's a quick rundown:
Ochoa Quintero is obvious team leader, with aspirations for top 5 overall, but TT will hurt GC potential assuming nothing untoward happens on the road before we get that far. Masuda is along as right-hand man in mountains and hills, but support beyond that is limited. We are asking Russian duo Chernetskiy and Tatarinov to step-up after quite a lot of exposure in the early season races to prove they are learning the right lessons in these developmental stages of their respective careers. Another duo, the Argy-Bargy twins Richeze and Haedo (LS) are here to focus on the sprints in the hope of avoiding the biggest CT sprint hitters. For a sprinter, Haedo is decent over hills, and with excellent descending skills, he perhaps has best chance of the two to avoid the dreaded time-cut as the daily fatigue accumulates. Young loanee Campos makes his professional debut and will generally be performing skut work on a daily basis.
So we could have brought much better support for Ochoa Quintero's overall battle, but 12 race-days at C2 offers limited opportunities for accumulating monster PPRD. Hence it is a squad that covers multiple bases, but limited depth in each area. Oh, and we will be generally all-round woeful come stage 11 TT time .
The CT GT is go!

Obviously I am a little bummed to have come so close but just not been able to take victory. 6th is a decent start to the Tour, but we need a few more points than that.
On the other hand, it is great to see that our riders are being very active, I would be very surprised if we don't get a stage win. And all riders in the front finishing group is good. Hopefully a better stage 2 in terms of winning

And race over... Stupid ai again, why would vrecer need 4 guys to get back? And why did Poli sprint for those few stupid points?
This race could've been great, will be aweful now... Reports are good tho...
Edit: were there narrow roads near the summit? If so that always has an impact on te amount of riders dropped.

Guess I can be happy with the stage. Passeron may have given away a stage win by riding that passively but those bonus seconds could be very valuable for Iglinski and the overall has absolute priority here.
Also big congrats, cio really nice win for Herklotz!
€: As for stage 2, good fifth place from Schwab after his fall, and two minutes gained on Rodrigues is great. Yasmani looks dangerous though.

Annoyed as to why Fernandez attacked? Although can you say whether it is Delio or Ruben?
Still 6th for Moinard isnt too bad but Fernandez would have won if he had saved his energy. Surprised to see that no other favourites bothered to attack. Gootta love the attacking spirit of Euskaltel though 9th and 10th isnt bad but will be improved on.
4th in KOM, Adamou looking dangerous in U25 and my three leaders still in with a great chance of a great GC. Nothing to worry about yet.

It is a war of attrition out there in the Middle east at the moment - you feel the best riders are keeping their powder dry. Then again last year at times the climbs were real snooze fests so lets hope for some more action this year.
Herklotz winning - betya Cio is still smiling (resisting urge to write something cruder!)

Good start of the race for us. Making sure that we don't lose any signifikant time. In the end i would be really pleased with two riders top ten which i think is the most we can hope for in this race. Allso hoping to do well in the team GC with 4 76 rated climbers here

I am fairly sure there won't be narrow roads at all this season.

Quite pleased with Pozdnyakov 3rd in stage 1, but expectations must have been too high for him in stage 2
