Decent from Boasson Hagen, but not much more. Somewhat annoying that he decided to sprint on his own from the very start of the sprint, when he simply could have followed the wheel of Ponzi. Would definitely not have changed the winner on the stage, but it might have left Ponzi without a very nice 8 seconds gap.
Big congrats to rjc, we can definitely not argue that Ponzi's sprint training pre 2013 was a great move!
And thanks for another nice report. AI also played that stage quite good. Only bad thing is that strong helpers like Levarlet sat up doing nothing when the favourites attacked. That makes it hard for us to end this race with also him inside the top 15. But all in all, a very nice stage as well!

Great to see how this stage worked. It gives hope to a pleasant season in the hilly terrain.
Time for the sprinters now. I hope the fast puncheurs are taking a day off.

Too bad Ricco couldn't stay with the front group. He did pretty well on the prologue and he seemed to be strong on stage 2 aswell. Not strong enough though.
A very nice stage to read and follow. If this is how hilly stages is run in PCM13 then this could be a very nice season (Not in terms of winning though).

Nice report and good racing, enjoyed the report!
And I am really happy with Sagan's result, really surprised he finished so high with such a strong show. Young jersey and big lead in the competition is a nice present, hopefully he can keep it till the end.

Really nice stage that one - reported nicely and of course it is easy to do when the AI serves up a good un.
Massive time gaps compared to the kind we were served up last year and good riddance to that too. The guys that are the strongest are being rewarded. So many top top leaders hard to argue with the selection and very good win for Ponzi in a race he loves.

15th seems about right. At least Vanendert didn't repeat the China fiasco.

Nice stage, enjoyed it. Shame Ben Nasser ended up losing a lot, but it doesn't look like he's up to the standards of some world class riders present here. |

Indeed, very entertaining stage. With very disappointing result dor my team. Ginanni, in theory strenghten with national bonus, is beaten by Roux, Sagan Gilbert? Loosing 2 minutes on Ponzi? It sucks, looks like noone from my team is able to step out from Boonen's shadow

Boonen`s shadow is huge though.
Kluge obviously wanted big times here. Brilliant to see him coming from far back pulling the only Rothaus rider with him in the first third of the peloton. In the end 13th. Okay result in a stage like this after Guardini and other pure sprinters had no chance.
Congrats to GoodEnergy. Again. Nice to see him successful. :-) |

This is an amazing Ponzi show! Another brilliant win for him, congrats.
Good to see Boasson Hagen pick up some bonus seconds as well, they should prove valuable in the fight for second place in the GC, if Ponzi keeps up like this
Thanks for another nice report, very much looking forward to what looks like the toughest stage thinking of mo/hill ratio. Speaking of which, is it possible for anyone to tell us the ratio for stage 4, 6 and 7? |

Guardini is again showing why I have my doubts about him as a lead sprinter next season, although I guess we'll see how he does over the rest of the season
Ponzi with the leader's bonus and the nationality bonus surely can't lose this now. Top notch reporting as ever, roturn |

Well. I hope to see some improvements for sure. But this stage was surely harder than it looked liked. Most sprinters were dropped and the remaining like Degenkolb lost the front positions and had no chance.
Qatar was for the power sprinters only. He has enough races left to at least top10 here and there (hoping so at least)
Next years max will surely improve him a lot making him a nice sprinter. |

Not so good for me to have 3 rivals picking up the bonus seconds, but as soon as VW upped the pace late on, I figured that Ponzi probably had it nailed on for another win

It is going to be really tough for the sprinters this year by the looks in the protour. I guess in this race with guys like Pozzato and Ponzi it makes sense to have this stage. Similar to Trofimov at Paris nice last tear from him at moment.
Going to be interesting to see stage 4 now all the big players look ready.

Nice stage by Sagan, cleverly riding, finding a good wheel, finished with nice 4th place. I clearly expected worse performances from him in this season, what a nice surprise!

Always enjoying Ponzi wins not only because I like the team, but because it gives me indications on what to hope for when Demare is maxed
Gasparotto with his first showing this season and obviously so in a PT race, seems like he got used to the level of competition so much last season that he doesn't care about shit small races

Now this PCM version I can get to like! Much better!
I quite like winning. Have I eclipsed last years total already yet?

Really hoping Van Garderen can move himself up a few positions in the GC. Quite pleased with Summerhill as he looks well situated in the KOM, nice to have the jersey for a few days.

VdHH should have done much better here - this was an ideal stage for him.
Great win for Schleck. Clearly still a MG legend.
