Martens broke away earlier than that.
Kelderman attacked in the downhill with 2 Frenchies, who got lost on the way down.
So it was Kelderman left on his own, and 2-3(?) km from the end, the peloton caught him.
If this is true, then he should just forget Giro this year. I always knew he was overrated. Yes he does do good in short stage races but in 3 weeks race you need good endurance. See TdF last year was 50s ahead of Valverde on 1st mountain stage and then dropped 20m next day. Quintana and Purito will destroy him, like Nibali last year with Wiggins.
I have never seen one good GT performance from him to say he is contender for podium, may be top 5 because other than Quintana, Purito, Evans field will be weak.
What a ridicolous post that was their was not even any mountains today so clerly he did not get dropped on a climb.
Also Porte had plenty of endurance he was having to bridge for ages almost even caught the group then Sky told him to shut it down did you watch Alpex2 stage, Porte was stronger than Froome and could have went with NQ and Purito. Porte was the 3rd best climber in the TDF imo he did not have the result to show for it but he was better than Purito, AX-3 Ventoux, and Alp stage. he could have done well, imagine Porte on another team, its just like Kreuziger last year he could have podiumed. Purito was fairly lucky imo.

Last year tour was overrated?! Are you drunk?
When he moved front of the group..group was destroyed. He needed to wait a Froome at least two times. Doped or not. But he was monster there and far from overrated.

Could've crashed or punctured, so no need to jump to a conclusion like that. Moreover, he abandoned Tirreno due to sickness, so it wouldn't be surprising if he's missing form

Yes, he was 4th on GC at Tirreno before abandoning with reported sickness. At the elite level it's likely to be a good few weeks before he is back to his best and competitive again. Certainly it's not great prep for the Giro but don't celebrate/commiserate just yet, there is still time...

He was dropped on descent. Climbing everyone can learn, but descending is a skill, like Wiggins prove in Giro last year. Froome is the only complete British rider and he will win TdF again this year, never Porte or Wiggins again.

Who said he will win the TDF you just sound silly when u first said he is overrated dude, again how was his TDF overrated at times some may laugh but u culd make a case he was even stringer than Froome many times ive seen Froome lose his wheel
