Financial update / Transfer Rumours
Newly created team Babel Tech - Adidas , celebrated their first month as a official team in the Algerian capital of Algier with booking a 4 starred hotel and a local newspaper got the chance to make an interview with sports director Jakob Piil
"Since this is our first month as a team , regulations mandates that the financial status have to be updated today, and since we can't avoid questions about our current financial status here is a small update. We were given 150 000 £ for wages and at the moment 146 000 of these are already spent for the first month, this means that we have 14 000 £ to sign more riders for our team... , revealed J. Piil with his short interview.
We managed to get an official statement on e-mail and as far as we can tell, fans have urgently reported that the team don't have much domination in the hills or mountains , only the services of L. Westra and J. Tiernan-Locke are what resources the team have, so they have begun a search for 2 new riders and they were so kind to set name on 4 transfer targets:
Warren Barguil
Tom Dumoulin
Nicolas Edet
Daan Olivier
Our first notice to surprise was that two french riders was at the list, since the team have been very strict about putting as few nationalities on the team as possible. On the other side the team got a lot of french staff deployed in minor positions and their current HQ is localized in Caen, France. Team manager D Anderson also have a house in Nantes and have spent his young days as cycle rider were he lived in Annecy.
All the mentioned riders are still young and got everything the team will need when it comes to hilly classics or bigger World Tour races, if success is achieved. As for the financial site , T. Dumoulin will have a wage on 18 000 and will therefore be only signing while the others can be brought together as two. But for now stay tuned and we will have more news as soon as possible.
Charles Monsuet , L'Equipe

Dumoulin would be a great asset to the team but you have to be careful with the money situation first |

Yeah , he will definitely be the one that can create the biggest result , but on the other hand 2 riders might be better for the team on the long run of the season :-)
Since this is my first time making a custom team , I wanted to have strict rules about the squad. So my goal is to have an average age around 25 , use a budget I must not overuse and off and a close region selection for the synergy in realistic measures :-)

If you intend to have a long first season then two riders would certainly be beneficial to the team |

Transfer update :
In a short press release the sports director of Babel Tech - Adidas announced the final transfers before the season that begins in 2 days
"a week ago we announced our final transfer targets, and we did at the start ask T. Dumoulin to join , but he declined with the comment that he was secure about our chances to get promoted and he was also insecure that it could take his career on some risks he don't want to exist. "
But I am also very delighted over being able to appoint 3 riders to the team and the last one was not revealed as a transfer target because it was uncertain that we had a chance to land this lad , but our finances proved right till the last penny and we can now announce that W. Barguil , Nicolas Edet and E. Viennet welcome to the team and our plan for the first month will be announced later today.
Our cloth sponsor Adidas haven't been able to get the product finished with their connection and they have done everything in their power to get it complete, but as of now we need a temporary jersey, which has been provided by Adidas themselves and will be the current jersey until the other is finished.

Race Report :
a hilly 1 day race , which was a perfect chance to get started with the season , and we had 3 candidates for a winner of the race, this is what happened :
We started with a team where W. Barguil was our leader and Koen De Kort was our backup if it ended in a sprint. Lieuwe Westra was just on the team to get his form going and was our last resort.
The breakaway was quickly set up and it had 9 riders in it. The biggest names in the breakaway was names like J. Engoulvent , J. Bol and E. Alafaci.
The peleton was controlled by Garmin , Katusha and IAM the whole race and they kept the breakaway under control with a 4-5 minute lead margin.
The race was quite uneventful but up the last hill 4 riders tried their luck, they were Y.Arashiro , D. Caruso , T. Slagter and L.Westra.
But Westra was not a shape, neither was Caruso or Slagter so Arashiro was the only one that reached the breakaway 20 seconds further down the road. It ended in a sprint with the between the breakaway and J. Murphy proved strongest , with Arashiro 2nd.
The only bright side for us were that K. De Kort won the sprint among the peleton riders, and he looks in the strongest form overall among the others and he will definitely perform over the next races.
Here is the highlights from other races:
Spoiler
Tour down under :
1st Jens Voigt
Tour de San Luis
1st Wilco Kelderman
La Tropicale Arissa Borgo
1st Stefan Denifl

The screenshots I made was not good and will try to improve it to the next race. The form was pretty terrible for the riders in general and neither was able to reach the breakaway, but it seemed that the others was strugling too , so I'm confident that we can take something from Etoile de Besseges

Don´t get nervous with the start... fitness will improve and results too..
Good new additions to the team. If you remove the circles from the riders your screens will look better.

Race Report :
Team Roster :
We had our last chance to come home from France with a result and this is over chance to dominate a minor race : Etoile De Besseges
STAGE 1
The first 20 km's many including E. Viennet and K. De Jonghe tried to come with the breakaway , but everyone was empty of energy quicker than anything seen before and then out of the random F. Senechal tried his luck and succeeded but no one followed him, so he hold a 4 min lead with Quickstep and Lotto controlling. With 70 km back We chose to make his gap down till 1 minute and Viennet , Ghyselinck and De Jonghe did a great job by controlling the peleton.
With a 45 second gap F. Senechal began to struggle, but he found his last powers and continued to hold a 30 second gap till we reached the 7 km mark and Ghylinck had controlled our train behind Quickstep's highly favored and favorite to win the stage G. Meersman and with 5 km to go the train was controlling the pace until the 2 km mark where the sprinters began sprinting for victory...
and the winner is...
Swift finishes 1st , K. De Kort 2nd and they showed how much it means for a sprinter to have a great leadout. We had broken the peleton into pieces and because of that Ivar Slik could get a 4th place because of Dowsett and Ghyselincks impressive work

Race Report :
STAGE 2
Today's stage wasn't covered with our best terrain , and it had an hilly ending. So our goal was to defend the jerseys and make the best result we could do. The stage started with several riders trying to form a breakaway , but it didn't come with much profit and most of the riders were exhausted of trying. So the first KOM sprint ended with a sprint which A. Madrazo won. This meant that current KOM leader F. Senechal had to form a breakaway to be able to defend his jersey and after the sprint he followed his attack with J.Pineau , J.Duval , and V. Jeromé.
For the 2nd and last KOM sprint , Pineau came with a strong attack 1 km before the ending of the sprint. He got followed by J. Duval that gained 3 point with F. Senechal getting 1 point, which meant that A. Madrazo would wear the KOM jersey in the 3rd stage as he already had points from yesterday.
With 10 km to go the breakaway was only 30 seconds up the front and the teams started their leadout's with us being 3rd just positioned behind Lotto. However Ben couldn't keep up the pace with our leadout , and he chose to set on the wheel of Rojas, something that would prove to be fatal...
With 6 km to go a lot of riders attacked as the peleton had reached the breakaway, however only T. Gallopin proved strongest and solely he kept a 20 second lead before the sprinters. With 1.5 km to go the team unleashed their sprinters...
Jens Debusschere was way stronger than the other sprinters , but it was too late for the winner was T. Gallopin before his team mate and Lotto gained a nice victory with a double.
