Bouygues didn't mind not getting selected, shows their superior (lack of) interest in the former Pro Tour.
I'm a bit disappointed to see Euskaltel there and not C.A. though. Euskaltel had been claiming for months they would be pleased to leave their spot to any team more motivated than them, yet they're here.
C.A. have Hushovd, Furlan, Cauchioli (ok, he's past it), Le Mével who won a stage 2 years ago, Halgand who got decent GC positions. They could have been there and expected to.
There's quite a bunch of dopeheads teams in, I thought giving a bigger choice liberty to RCS, ASO, Unipublic meant giving them the right to leave dopeheads at home. Obviously it's not the way it's working with RCS... |

"This doesn't disappoint us. Suddenly there are more races we can shine in" - Bouyges Team Manager
Nice idea. shame about the reality.
Anyway, Zomegnan says teams must abide by the UCI's "Wild Card team" rules. Meaning there's a very real chance LPR won't be there.
Also, it'll (sadly) be a cold day in hell when Astana doesn't get a Tour invite. meaning: There's absoolutely no doubt in my mind they'll get it, unfortunately.

I hope ASO won't be hypocrites and will leave Astana out, that they won't trust the argument that Bruyneel is a saint whereas the formers were devils dopers. I guess they're not that naive, there are not many here who trust Contador integrity.
What we may see though, is UCI or the CAS forcing ASO to accept Astana. |

We'll see. The invites are usually announced when? May, right?

.. speaking of Astana and TdF, Prudhomme has said today that he doesn't have any problem with Contador participating. He wants to see if Astana have improved, but other than that, no problems. |
