Todayâ€™s stage has rolling hills all the way along including an uphill finish. This is a stage built for a puncheur or sprinter that can climb well. Halgand and Dean are todayâ€™s leaders.

The Race

It is again Le Mevel that does the first attack.

Le Mevel extends his lead by taking 2nd on the first mountain and winning the second mountain.

With 100km to go the leading group had 3.12 on the peloton.

Halgand led up a small hill with 30km to go and broke the group into 3 leading riders, Halgand, Rous and Le Mevel. 2 for Credit Agricole in the leading group.

6km to go and Rous is now the sole leader. Vicioso and Rinero are in the chasing group with Halgand. Rous is 26 seconds ahead.

100m to go and Rous getâ€™s passed by Bruylandts who takes the win.

Wiggoâ€™s Reaction

I finished a long way back but I didnâ€™t expect anything from todayâ€™s stage. Le Mevel is super excited that he is still leading the mountains classification. He loves that jersey and wants to win it. Halgand is happy with today. He got 6th place on the stage and is now 5th overall. Dean is doing great as well. He is 7th overall. Kashechkin is doing great in the youth classification as well. He is 4th 0 seconds behind the leader. He is trying to win it tomorrow. Well thatâ€™s all from me.

Todayâ€™s stage has 2 big hills at the end, Kashechkin wants to win the youth and Halgand wants to get on the podium in the GC. They are going to work together today.

The Race

I was allowed in the break again today so I attacked quite early on.

Chavanel joined our group with 145km to go. 8 people in the leading group and we have 2.31 on the peloton.

I made it over the first hill section. Now it is flat for a long time.

With 45km to go the leading group of 7 had 4.36 on the peloton. I am still in this group.

With 20km to go my group had 2.54 on the peloton. The closing kilometres are going to be very hectic.

With 8km to go Halgand and Vicioso attacked.

With 3km to go Halgand was with the overall leader Bruylandts, Rinero and Vicioso.

2nd goes to Hroska who was the last of the breakaway and 3rd too Rinero. Halgand takes 4th ahead of Vicioso.

I had a good day. I am feeling a little more comfortable on the climbs every day and today I didnâ€™t get dropped from the breakaway group like I did a few days ago. I got thanked from Nazon and Dean for helping with the leadout. Le Mevel is very happy and Halgand is ecstatic that he made the podium. Overall I will say the team has had a great tour. I have to go now. People are yelling my name outside.

Today is the start of my 2nd stage race. I am really looking to get my first podium today as it is only a 6.7km time trial. I have my hopes high for today.

The Race

I was the first to set off for my team so I didnâ€™t know if I was going too fast or too slow. This is going to be very interesting this race.

Well I am very happy with my performance. Although when I beat Menchov I thought I was going to take out the stage but unfortunately Vino was too good. I am however leading the youth classification and the caretaker of the pointâ€™s jersey. Tomorrow I will try and get into the breakaway and take what is rightfully mine...... well at least Iâ€™ll try.

The first and only mountain stage of the tour, breakaway for me today.
There isnâ€™t much else I can do today other than that. I am 2nd overall though so it may be hard to get away.

The Race

10km after I attacked I am by myself and I have 2 minutes on the peloton.

I got 3rd in the first sprint point.

Botcharov attacked on the first hill.

Lastras takes out the first mountain sprint.

Botcharov caught and passed my group and is now on pursuit of the leading 3

With 47km to go Botcharov finally caught up to the leading 2. They are 5 minutes ahead of the favourites.

With 10km to go it looked like the breakaway would stay away.

With 5km to go Botcharov was following Lastras.

Lastras was never going to lose the sprint. Botcharov is exhausted.

The 1st of 2 flat stages, Dean is our leader today and I am the last leadout.

The Race

Isasi and Bileka attacked early on. Kaggestad was sent out to join the breakaway.

Calzati, Perez Pereira and Adveyev attacked early on.

Kaggestad won the first and only Intermediate Sprint. The leading group now has a big lead of 6â€™25â€

With 40km to go the leading group of 7 had 10.25 seconds on the peloton.

Now at 20km to go the gap had gone down 4 minutes. If the pace is kept like this the break may be caught.

4km to go and the game of Cat and Mouse starts.

Well it was a quiet day today. The break stayed away. I helped with Deanâ€™s leadout but it was no use as we finished more than 4 minutes behind the breakaway. Kaggestad is happy with his 5th place but was hoping for a bit more. Tomorrow is stage 5 and another flat stage.
