Valley of the Sun Stage Rage - Stage 1
Opening stage of this years version will be 22km long Prologue. It's race day so here we go.
To be honest, we didn't expect anything great at this time trial.
Lampier (N4G) is our leader for first stage , and he'll try to give his all and to get some good result. Something in Top 20 would be nice.
Zirbel (OPT) was first favourite to start. Of course he blew up competition at that time, and was 40 seconds in advantage, at one point.
About 50 guys passed after him , and absolutely nothing changed in Top 5. Now, it was time for our first TT star,
Lampier (N4G).
Surprisingly, he was really good. He finished on 3rd position. Still, 40 more guys to come. We really hopes we can keep that Top 10 position.
Again, in next few minutes , nothing happened. Only info worth notice is
Jones (BPC) getting 3rd position.
However, still few more guys that can change Top 10 list.
Brown (BON) was first of them. He really looked focused on his Trek, and that seemed like it's going to be great result.
And he was awesome! Only 10 seconds behind American ITT champion,
Zirbel (OPT).
Only one more guy that can change podium. It's Jamis'
Jacques - Maynes (JHB). That was one of best ITT rides that i, as Pro Cycling Manager ever saw.
He easily got the lead and win with 4 seconds of advantage. Meanwhile , our sprinter and team leader ,
Northey (N4G) finished on 86th position. Quite bad, but still okay. On another side, at the end of the day ,
Lampier (N4G) was 13th. Great result for us, considering how bad TT team we are.

sutty68 - Well, he was close but it's still nice result for us.
baia - Yep, thanks. And yes, first thing i thought about when i saw Maynes winning this was you and your story.

Valley of the Sun Stage Rage - Stage 2
After yesterdays TT , it's time for 2nd stage. Quite hilly but still flat stage should suit Northey (N4G), but it still depends on his form. We'll see.
---
Only stage with KoM passes started. Of course we had to send someone in breakaway. It was Hepworth (N4G) , who joined Verschoor (TNN) and Derler (TIR) and made breakaway of the day.
As i said , our first target for this breakaway was getting most KoM points and winning that jersey in this race. Richard did great job in that, and collected 14 points, which was easily enough for KoM jersey.
He attacked on last hill and it was not only attack for KoM points. He decided to continue. Rest of BOTD decided to give up. It's now Hepworth (N4G) vs Peloton.
Few minutes after, Peloton started harder pace and it was the end for Richard . Now , he'll only try to catch up with pelotons rhytm and finish this with the same time as others.
Meanwhile , on top of the peloton, 3 trains were created. Optum , De Rijke and An Post created them. Northey (N4G) and Lampier (N4G) are somewhere behind, trying to follow Optum s train.
It was easily noticable that Optum gained big advantage. Rodriguez (OPT) is their first pick. And, after great train and great leadout it was only routine to win this. American National Champion, Fred Rodrigeuz (OPT) wins 2nd stage!
Lampier (N4G) and Northey (N4G) are somewhere behind, finishing between 10th and 20th position. Last hill totally killed'em.

sutty68 - That's true! On another side, this hill totally destroyed Northey , so he could not sprint. I am pretty sure he'll show what he can in next stage.

Good stage, Hepworth needs to stand out there, hope he can win that jersey , with weaker teams every jersey counts as a big win.

baia - Thanks. Indeed, we really need that KoM , for sponsors and motivation aswell.
Note* - I am sharing my computer with my brother atm, since his got broken. He needs it alot for next few days/weeks so pace of uploading reports will be much lower, might even puts this on hold. Of course it's not finish of this story, far from that. See ya

Nope, i have an older brother. But i will probably take a break from story writing. It's just not going this way, starting all of these stories with busy schedule IRL. It will be a long break, probably.
