Tour of Oman
Stage 3 : Sagan is unstoppable
This third stage is clearly the easiliest of this race with a downhill for the almost of the stage and a flat final. Again the bunch eats the breakaway and gets a move on the finish line. Tourminator wins a third stage on this Tour of Oman in front of Goss (Yeah again him) and Jonathan Hivert. For me, I had completely failed my sprint and got a 22th and 23th place with Hunter and Impey. The next stage will be again a flat one before the high mountain stage which build the final GC.
Stage classification
1st Peter Sagan (LIQ) 3h 20'16"

Tour of Oman
Stage 4 : Sagan, Power 4
For this fourth stage between Bidbid and Al Wadi Al Kadir, It's very short (139,7 Km) and very flat (The profile is quite wrong, gradients in the climbs don't exceed 1%). Again the bunch catched the breakaway and gets a move on the finish line. Sagan wins his fourth stage on this Tour of Oman in front of Goss (for the fourth time!) and Romain Feillu. I had realised a good sprint with Robert Hunter with a 4th place, very nearly from the podium. The stage 6 will my last chance to do it.
The next stage will a high mountain stage which build the final GC. After those fourth first stage, Sagan took thanks to stages bonus an advantage more of one minute on Rodriguez for example. So, Will Sagan resist ? Will I realize a good result with Kessiakoff ? Who's gone win the GC ?
Stage classification
1st Peter Sagan (LIQ) 3h 26'32"
2nd Matthew Goss (OGE) + 0"
3rd Romain Feillu (VCD) + 0"
4th Robert Hunter (BAR) + 0"
5th Daniel Oss (LIQ) + 0"
6th Matti Breschel (SAX) + 0"
7th Jonathan Hivert (SAU) + 0"
8th Jure Kocjan (TT1) + 0"
9th Joaquin Rodriguez (KAT) + 0"
10th Francesco Gavazzi (LAM) + 0"
Overall Classification
1st Peter Sagan (LIQ) 13h 51'48"
2nd Matthew Goss (OGE) + 36"
3rd Jonathan Hivert (SAU) + 1'12"

5th Matti Breschel (RAB) + 1'12"

It's not even funny how Sagan dominates the Tour of Oman. Hopefully Hunter will crack him rather sooner than later if there's a sprint stage left. Kessiakoff should definitely be able put in some time into Sagan on the next stage.

It's only the first race of the season for Kessiakoff and his shape is 58pts ... |

Giro di Laigueglia
I have noticed in a previous post, there are 3 races in the same day, so don't worry after this race and the first stage of the Tour du Var, I'll continue and finish the Tour of Oman
For this race, I hope a good result like a top 10 or a top 5 with Geraint Thomas after his victory in Australia and also Gasparotto who can follow the main leaders in the climbs and got a good place sprinting in a little group.
My squad :
Diego Caccia
Luca Celli
Baden Cooke
Steve Cummings
Alexander Efimkin
Enrico Gasparotto
Geraint Thomas
This race is about 179,5 km with 4 main climbs which own irregular and tough (sometimes over 10%) gradients. I decided to launch Cummings in the breakaway, six men take an advantage over 1 minute in the first climb. Caccia, Celli and Cooke have the job to protect Thomas, Gasparotto and Efimkin.
The breakaway got a maximal gap of 6 minutes before Spartacus'men take the leading of the head of the bunch. At around 40 km from the arrival, Di Luca and Pozzovivo decided to attack in the downhill of the penultimate climb. At the moment, the escape men had an advantage of 2 minutes. The Italians catched up the breakaway at the foot of the last climb of the day, however the bunch again leading by Radioshack come back quite fastly. Caccia, Celli and Cooke, after a good job were dropped by the bunch.
At the top of the climb, the breakaway had only 30 seconds on the bunch. Finally, they were catched up in the downhill. After a little moment of calm, attacks come back with Cunego, Pozzato and Ballan but none of them take a good advantage.
At the 10 km from the arrival, Cancellara attacks and no one is able to answer. Only some kilometers after his attack, he takes an advantage over 1 minute.
After this attack, I understood that I cannot win so I waited for the sprint for the second place. Cummings gave his last strenghts to Gasparotto and Efimkin transported Thomas.
Cancellara controls and wins for his first race of the year and ... I got the 2nd and 3rd place with Thomas and Gasparotto.
It's like a victory ! (Only 17 arrived in the same time !)
With this result, I consolidate the individual CT classification and also the team CT classification.
Classification
1st Fabian Cancellara (RNT) 5h 26'08"
2nd Geraint Thomas (BAR) + 0"
3rd Enrico Gasparotto (BAR) + 0"
4th Danilo Di Luca (ASA) + 0"
5th Jens Voigt (RNT) + 0"
6th Gianluca Brambilla (COG) + 0"
7th Yaroslav Popovich (RNT) + 0"
8th Wout Poels (VCD) + 0"
9th Marco Marcato (VCD) + 0"
10th Alexander Efimkin (BAR) + 0"

Tour du Var
For this race, I hope something like a top 20 for the GC with Carrara or Siutsou.
My squad :
Matteo Carrara
Giampaolo Cheula
Marco Corti
Vladimir Efimkin
Mauro Facci
Michele Merlo
Carlo Scognamiglio
Konstantin Siutsou
Stage 1: The opportunists
For this Tour du Var we have 2 hilly stages. The first is composed of 3 climbs of 2nd category and the final is a circuit which the riders will cross three times. This race started quite slowly with a breakaway which won't take enough time and will be catched before the middle of the race. And after some kilometers that some riders decided to escape from the bunch, those men are Pardilla (MOV), Di Gregorio (COF) and Agnoli (LIQ). So I decided to launch Facci to follow these men because he is in quite good shape and he has nearly none chance to win that stage.
The bunch let this four men take enough time ... maybe too many time.
At 50km from the arrival, they had an advantage of 6'.
At 20km, they still had 2'45.
And It was at this moment that Facci was dropped by the three men apparently too strong for him. And unfortunately Facci was dropped by the head of the bunch kilometers later.
Even if the bunch accelerated the three men kept a gap around 1'45-2' and in the five last kilometers it was Agnoli's time to be dropped by the head of race.
Now there is no doubt the victory will be for Pardilla or Di Gregorio. Pardilla launched his sprint but Di Gregorio dropped the spaniard and takes the victory and also the leader jersey. Agnoli kept some seconds on the bunch and finished 3rd. Ponzi won bunch's sprint and Suitsou got a good 16th place.
With this victory Di Gregorio takes a good option for the final victory.
Stage classification
1st Remy Di Gregorio (COF) 5h 31'32"
2nd Sergio Pardilla (MOV) + 14"
3rd Valerio Agnoli (LIQ) + 1'04"
4th Simone Ponzi (AST) + 1'28"
5th Sylvester Smyzd (LIQ) + 1'28"
6th Diego Ulissi (LAM) + 1'28"
7th Blel Kadri (ALM) + 1'28"
8th Nick Nuyens (SAX) + 1'28"
9th Andrew Talansky (GRM) + 1'28"
10th Christophe Le Mevel (GRM) + 1'28"
...
16th Konstantin Siutsou (BAR) + 1'28"
Overall classification
1st Remy Di Gregorio (COF) 5h 31'10"
2nd Sergio Pardilla (MOV) + 18"
3rd Valerio Agnoli (LIQ) + 1'14"
4th Simone Ponzi (AST) + 1'50"
5th Sylvester Smyzd (LIQ) + 1'50"
6th Diego Ulissi (LAM) + 1'50"
7th Blel Kadri (ALM) + 1'50"
8th Nick Nuyens (SAX) + 1'50"
9th Andrew Talansky (GRM) + 1'50"
10th Christophe Le Mevel (GRM) + 1'50"
...
16th Konstantin Siutsou (BAR) + 1'50"
PS : Actually I haven't many time to make posts my exams are coming, soon I'll post the end of the Tour of Oman and the 2nd stage of the Tour du Var. I'll post the Tour of Malaysia in mid-January
