Hi!
Just saw that the team will be going to Argentina to race Tour de San Luis. As I have been feeling really well after my arrival to France and have been training hard to impress right from the start I just wanted to let you know that I would be thrilled to get to race that as well as the races I mentioned earlier.

Ah, good to hear that you feel well.
I was just starting the planning and hestitating about letting you join San Luis or not. This helps
Though you have to know that if you want all those races(can't promise you anything yet, I'll get back on that later), you'll have a pretty busy first part of the season, which means you'll have less races to ride later in the season

I know. I'm just thinking out loud mostly - still too excited about going pro to really have a good overlook.
As long as you find me some races where I don't end up looking like a complete buffoon that'll be fine. All of the ones I mentioned would probably be overkill I suppose.
I would really like to help out in Crit. International and perhaps Paris - Nice if you find it a good place to use my energy/race days and then I would really like not having to work for anyone but myself in either Oman or San Luis if possible...
In the end you're the boss

Hello Mr. Europe, hello Mr. Car.
I saw the team roster Mr. Europe posted, you seem to like my time trial skills. Is good, I like time trial. I also like climbing and hilling. I see you have good races as well, is very good for team. Hope to see rider schedules soon.

You'll ride as many cobbles as possible, don't worry
Planning, at least for the custom riders, should be finished in a few days. They(custom rider schedules) are about finished right now, but I have to talk with the other manager about it first

We have bad news, at least for someone. 24 year old Bryan Nauleau was added to the team roster earlier on, but we have to fire him. Some situation took place within the team, we don't want to go in on that any further, what happened, has happened.

Le Monde interviews Kim Po-ding
Forget the Chinese, forget the Japanese, the newest sensation of cycling is 23 year old North Korean Kim Po-ding! He's made it all the way to Europe to compete in his first season as professional cyclist. A unique moment in sports history, and we have the full story!
Mr Kim, can you tell us something about yourself? What was is like growing up in North Korea?
Kim: North Korea is great country. I'm proud to lived there. I like cycling from when I was 6 years old. I won some important races, but not National Championship. Our Great and Beloved Leader wins National Championship. He is my hero.
Of course, coming to Europe and entering World Tour races is a huge difference. What do you think about the other cyclists? Do you think you can beat them?
Yes, very yes! North Korea is greatest nation and will defeat other countries. If they so good, why they don't ride Pyongyang Cup or Tour of Labour Camps? They are hardest races in the world. I am confident I will win several races this year.
It took some time before you got signed by Europcar, were there some problems?
This is correct. With the help of Americans, the secret service of South Korea has blocking my phone. So teams call me a lot, but no work. Our Great Leader has promised retaliations if this happens again, so I got more phones.
But then you signed for Europcar. How happy are you with your new team?
Very happy! I like managers, I like team mates. I hope to ride strong in first race with help of team mates. Except Arashiro, I hope he get hit by car. Then car back up and hit him again. Or maybe we can go train together and he has accident at cliff.
Well good luck with that! And how's the new life in Europe for you?
Is nice, but I miss North Korea. I left wife and children there, so I must ride very good to please Our Great Leader. My friend Doctor Fu is also here, he came with me. He takes care of me, make sure I'm strong for races. I like food here, but Doctor Fu says is no good. Also like wine, but Doctor Fu says also is no good.
Well thank you for this interview and have a great season!

Doctor Fu has something to do with Doctor Ferrari ? Also, his name, if you replace "d" with "p" .

Hello France!
Mr. Europe gave me my schedule for first part of season today! I will ride following races:
Tour de San Luis
Volta ao Algarve
Paris is Nice
A lot of race days, but a lot of timetrials, so I happy. I think I can win these races, but will be very hard.

Blog Entry: #1: First impressions & Schedule
Hey guys,
I just had a busy week as I had to organize my new life in France. Searching for an apartment took some time and when I finished training I was too tired to write down more than one or two sentences.
My first impression of my training group is awesome. Guys like Voeckler, Yukiya, David Veilleux or Peeters make every little climb a real test. I have the feeling that I am going to be much stronger when this season ends.
Today I want to give you a short overview of what happened the last week and what happens in the next few months:
On Thursday I signed a rental agreement for one year with an option for a second year for an appartement in Paris.
On Friday and Saturday we had some kind of test where our team tested our skills in the different categories like climbing, prologue riding or cobbles. I am very proud that they think that I am the best hilly rider ahead of world class riders like “le Chouchou” Thomas Voeckler, most awesome fighter in cycling history ahead of Jens Voigt, Po Ding, five time winner of the Tour of Labor Camp, or Pierre Rolland, winner at Alpe d’Huez and in La Toussuire.
Yesterday I had my first interview with a French sport magazine and if you want to read it I could link it as soon as it is published.
Another thing that I can announce you is my schedule for the first part of the season. I will going to peak for the Ardennes classics so I do not have a busy schedule for the first few months. Thus, my first race will be the Grand Prix la Marsaillaise. I was told that the sponsor wants a top 10 here but I think a podium should be my goal. We have already tested the route and I have to say that I liked it.
It is followed by Paris-Nice. This will be my first ever PT race and I am going to chase a stage win. As this year’s edition got quite some hilly stages, it suits my abilities a lot.
And then it is time for the classics. The wildcards for the big races are not out yet, so it is not sure which races we will participate in the end but it is supposed that we will get at least one or two of the Ardennes Triple. Then I would be our team’s leader… But this is decided later on.
That's it for now. If you have further questions please ask them. I will answer them in further blog entries.
Best wishes,
Christian Schröder

Blog Entry: #2: Interview
As promised, here is the interview:
Welcome to France. What is your first impression of our country?
Well, my first thing that I saw in France was a white flag over the boarder sign. Obviously that was some kind of gag by some German teenagers who wanted to be funny. But seriously, I have not seen much of France yet as I have to train a lot to get into good shape. On Saturday I will get to Paris where I can meet some of the team’s sponsors. Maybe I can rent a car there to visit Europe’s most known tower.
Did you always wanted to be cyclist?
No. I mean I always liked my bike and trained on it but in childhood I wanted to be a Movie star like most children but on my one year trip to Colombia my big dream became Sharper: I wanted to become a cycling pro.
How much work is it to become pro?
A lot. My first coach always said that talent does not fall from the Sky. You have to train everyday to become a giant in international sport. Then it is a chain-reaction. If you train more you have more power to train harder and you will improve more.
How good are you already?
I may be a piece of blank paper but I think I AM already better than A Sta(n)nard or Fabian Wegmann but the way to a real Champion is long.
You named Fabian Wegmann. Would you compare both of you?
On the one side I could say that we both are specialized on hills. We like to attack and have a decent sprint. But on the other side I’d say that I am already better than him. I always had a good feeling for the right tactic on the right time. I have a good instinct which attack will be decisive. I think that Fabian misses this to get even better results…
You are speaking about results. What results do you want to have at the end of this season?
First of all, I want to help my team that the sponsor will extend their contract. Therefore, I want to achieve three sponsor goals for my own. Besides, I have two big goals this year: I want to take my first professional win and I want to get a top 5 result in one hilly PT classic.
Which is your favourite race?
My favourite race is for sure the Liege Bastogne Liege. It is not like playing Lotto by choosing the right wheel like in most sprint finishes but you have to be the strongest on that day to win it. I also like the Fleche Wallone or Le Tour.
Most winner of Le Tour de France used illegal substances. What is your opinion to performance-enhancing drugs?
I don’t take any and I promise that I never will take any. A professional sportsman has always a prototypical function for the next generation and should therefore not take any pharmaceuticals just to make a quicker step to the top.
One last question: How does your family support you on your cycling career?
My parents are active in sports business themselves so they were glad that I choosed it, too. And my younger brother is probably my biggest fan. He even asked to go with me to France but my father told him that he first has to finish his school. Maybe he can join me next year.

Hi guys!
I'm starting to get settled in my house in the alps. The team really have found a nice place for me!
My legs are feeling better and better and even though there's a nice bit of cold I have to admit that it's feeling good to train in less harsh situations than back home on Iceland.
The team management have given me my schedule as well. I'll be racing a lot starting out in San Luis and then going to Oman. I'll probably end up training a bit in Argentina and then going straight to Oman since I will probably have to get used to the heat. And no matter how much I love the Alps in January they can't quite help me with that...
Then later on I'll race both Crit. International and Paris - Nice. Two races that I really look forward to as they should suit me brilliantly - both in terrain and climate.
I had hoped to get a chance to try my own legs, but the boss told me that I'll have to work for others. I promise you that I'll keep my eyes open for any opportunities that might arise over the races!
Not that I won't do my work diligently - of course I'll do my very best to help the team and prove that they should give me chance later on in the season. After all they did promise me that I wouldn't be a pure domestique when I signed...
And then just a picture of the road I start my training round one:

Hello France!
I don't know what happening today, but managers gave me plane tickets and showed me into taxi to airport. Communication is still problem, but I try to learn france. I'm in Argentinia now, ready for my first race. It has hills and mountain and time trial, so I like, but hard competition as well. Not sure what will happen, but looking forward to first race!

First season goal achieved!
We've got some good news.
Our first race, GP La Marsaillaise has been finished. It's of course a home-race for us, but it's a minor race, so it doesn't deserve a big report.
Anyway, one of our early-season sponsor goals was achieving a Top 10 in Marseille. We had sent a strong squad there, with Schröder & Voeckler being our leaders.
Schröder was a tad disappointing, maybe, since he finished 19th, but on the other hand, Voeckler did well, grabbing us a 4th place and completing the sponsor goal. Europcar should be happy with that.
Here's a picture with Voeckler edging out most of the second group, and grabbing 4th.
It was a good season-opener for us, we're looking forward to the next races, which should be Qatar & San Luis.
