@ Abelbaba: tx, I'll put profile but only for key stages
@sutty68: I am a bit dispointed by the 3rd place overall, it is the worse I wcould get given the competition, but the 2 wins make for it big time!

STAGE 1
"Well congratulations for your collective performance in Uruguay.
It is the good choice not to celebrate as the competition is weaker here in Brazil. Today is a short prologue to start with. Vennell is the favorite but Artem, you are his 1st outsider, you did such a wonderfull ITT yesterday than we can only hope for the best!"
STAGERank | Name | Time | 1 | Jeremy Vennell | 5'03 | 2 | Victor Hugo Pena Grisales | + 4 | 3 | Ben Jacques-Maynes | + 5 | 4 | Ignacio Sarabia Diaz | s.t. | 5 | Artem Ovechkin | s.t. | 6 | Marc De Maar | + 6 | 7 | Scott Zwisanski | s.t. | 8 | Wilson Marentes | + 7 | 9 | Michael Creed | s.t. | 10 | Ryan Roth | + 8 |
STAGE 2
"Bernard you are the 2nd best climber of the team, your job is to take the KoM jersey.
Will, you protect Artem or you can make the breakaway if Bernard is too far away or too tired.
Artem, you wait for the last climb and you attack from the bottom to get the maximum time. You are THE big favorite today."
Van Ulden made it and main favorites had to ride to catch him back. Ovechkin then accelerated with his now famous eyes of the tiger!
Great win today

STAGE 3
"Flat stage today despite some hills here and there. Just make the breakaway."
Van Ulden makes it and seriously consolidates his KoM jersey. With 10km to go, there was only 1 team leading the pack not all great flat riders, so...
It is going to be close, very close but
STAGE
Rank | Name | Time | 1 | Artem Ovechkin | 4h49'27 | 2 | Jeremy Vennell | s.t. | 3 | Juan Pablo Forero Carreno | s.t. | 4 | Ben Jacques-Maynes | s.t. | 5 | Ignacio Sarabia Diaz | s.t. | 6 | Caleb Fairly | s.t. | 7 | Hilton Clarke | s.t. | 8 | Cole House | s.t. | 9 | José Enrique Gutierrez Cataluña | s.t. | 10 | Guillaume Boivin | s.t. |

STAGE 4
"Very flat stage today. Artem, you got 6 points lead over Vennell, but he is among the favorites today and you aren't. Our objective should be to minimise the lost of points so we can close a big slam on this race. Letting a breakaway to the finish could help."
STAGERank | Name | Time | 1 | Ignacio Sarabia Diaz | 3h39'26 | 2 | Juan Pablo Forero Carreno | s.t. | 3 | Jeremy Vennell | s.t. | 4 | Christopher Jones | s.t. | 5 | Hilton Clarke | s.t. | 6 | Cole House | s.t. | 7 | Artem Ovechkin | s.t. | 8 | Felipe Silva Delai | s.t. | 9 | Ben Jacques-Maynes | s.t. | 10 | José Enrique Gutierrez Cataluña | s.t. |
GC
Rank | Name | Time | 1 | Artem Ovechkin | 14h44'41 | 2 | Marc De Maar | + 1'57 | 3 | Fabio Andres Duarte Arevalo | + 3'27 | 4 | Javier Moreno Bazan | + 3'30 | 5 | Victor Hugo Pena Grisales | + 5'48 | 6 | John Darwin Atapuma Hurtado | + 6'30 | 7 | Christopher Jones | + 6'47 | 8 | Gregory Juel Brenes Obondo | + 6'48 | 9 | Jeremy Vennell | + 7'05 | 10 | Carlos Johan Galviz Garcia | + 8'24 | 11 | Bernard Van Ulden | + 9'06 |
STAGE 5
"Last stage. It coud be a great day but we could loose a lot: De Maar and Duarte (2nd and 3rd in the GC) are the big favorties, Artem is hardly an outsider.
Of course the priority is to keep Artem's lead.
Also Artem is only 1 point down Vannell who will struggle today so 2nd goal is to gain back the green jersey."
Miller makes the breakaway. It is cought at the bottom of the last climb and De Maar benefits from the mess to attack, Duarte counters. Ovechkin has no strengh to counter. So he moves slowly to the top of the pack, impeded by the rest of the breakaway.
No one helps so he makes it to the top as fast as he could. But the gap is widening, more than 1' already...
Spoiler STAGE

"Guys, welcome home after this long weeks in South America for those who were there.
It has already been 3 months since we have started this adventure together. And I am really proud of you.
I propose we have a quaterly meeting all together, so I present you some slides we can discuss. Here is our first one and let's start with the most important:
RESULTS
You got it, Artem has assumed his role of leader and has collected almost all the team's points so far
Yeap, you notice the 4 points difference between the team's and Artem's total, that is for Nic's Top 5!
But you should all be proud, not only because Artem couldn't make it without the team but also because of all the points and attached money you have collected.
So I move to my 2nd point:
FINANCE
You surely remember last month hard speach, don't you. Well thanks to our little trip to South America we are back in the green with 32 kEUR in the Bank. Enough to search for a new sponsor and to pass over a hard month or two.
But no more, so Finance pressure has certainly been eased but is still there!
PROGRESS
Last but not least, I want to congratulate the riders who have improved some of their skills. You might be familiar with our scoring system. I know it is hard for you to stay focus on training while I have had to fire all our trainers. So none of you made stellar progress, just gaining 1 point here and there (highlighted in green on the slide). But still it is something. And no one lost any capacity either.
So stay focus. April will be a difficult month: the early season team will be tired and riding its last race for long while the other riders will just be starting, therefore also lacking some fitness.
I still hope we can successfully participate to many races to definitely ease the Financial pressure and prepare next season with serenity."

Yes you are and it is time for decisions:
We are 1st of April and we may want to renew (or not) our 3 riders whose contracts expire at the season end:
He wants a 2 years contract 2250/month
Sure he is American and with 59 in both hills and mountain plus 68 in flat has been useful so far this year.
But he is 32 so he might as well starts to decline. Wouldn't it better to look for a younger rider instead?
Renew Van Ulden or not?
If yes for how long?
He wants a 3 years contract 2000/month
He is young with real hills potential.
But he is Australian and not so strong yet.
Renew Loutit or not?
If yes for how long?
He wants a 3 years contract 2000/month
He is the typical average rider, and we need some cheap ones. Also he is American and still can improve.
However he is already 27 years old and looks somehow weak as the plan is to increase the team's level.
Renew Hernandez or not?
If yes for how long?
Another key decision is for our sponsorship:
We now have 32k in the bank and we are short 14k/month if no race income.
Should we launch the sponsor search now?
Should we look for Regional, National, more?

Great new banner, wherever did you get that from!
( I reckon you should also put it at the top of the opening post)
A great excursion down to South America there.
About the transfers:
---- I would only offer Van Ulden a contract (1 year). He has arguably been the team's best rider apart from Artem.
So then the team has more finance to get some different riders in.
Maybe next time you can post a range of potential transfer targets? |

First of al congrats on the last race
I would renew Loutit, it looks like he will become a nice hill rider. I would offer him a 2 year contract.
For the other 2 I would look for some nice young talents.
About the sponsor search, I think you can't start to early. I would look at a national level, but I have no idea what it would cost (could you give that information?) |

Thanks guys, but you could agree between yourselves
Let's I start with sponsor search, I click national (US obviously) and got a sign on fee of 4k, no clue how much it will cost me in the future... So let's wait what this gentleman will cost and propose me (there is no confirmation, I've just tried to see how much it would cost, and checked my Finance because no message is telling you anything!)
To sum up about contract renewal, we've got:
1 vote for Van Ulden 1 year,
2 votes for Loutit (1+ and 2 years),
1 vote for Hernandez (1+).
Well, I went with the majority that is: no offer to Van Ulden (though I feel bad for him) nor for Hernandez and a 2 years for Loutit
As for this month planning:
We have been refused to Greece and Korea 2.2 as well as to Russian Mayor Cup 1.2
I will put my A team in Sochi to get more money. I applied for Fleche d'Emeraude 1.1 just to have 1 day race for new riders before they start Circuit de la Sarthe but I don't expect a lot.
For new recruits, sure I will propose you some names and even ask you about the profile we should look for. But let's wait a little bit as we are only
in April yet

"Hello guys,
Nice to see you here and ready. The race is 100% flat and we have no sprinter, so let's make the breakaway."
Huff makes the breakaway, but it was cought and Hanson, our best sprinter (68) couldn't make the Top25.

- We would probably never agree on the deals, so it's best you make the final say.
Also would you mind doing a favour? As I would really like to get some of those stages your using
Could you check whether or not the stage races in Uruguay and Brazil etc are real stages and not (something like San Luis copied) . Thanks. |

@sutty68: Hanson will do his best but he has a long way to go before he can do something great....
@The Rider: checking the database right now, for "Rutas de America" I have got:
1 stage from Mallorca, 1 stage from Benelux, 1 from Murcia 1 from routesud, 1 pvasco, 1 tour de med and 1 "An Post Ras (not sure which race it is...) but still pretty well mixted and all in all nice to race with different competition it makes it a different race...

STAGE 3
"Last points for KoM today and 16 points is not going to be enough to bring it home as the last climb is worth 15 points by itself. So we have to make sure Ken is in the breakaway to claims some more points. You should bring the bunch back if he is not!"
Hanson finally makes it but he is too weak to gain any point and is quickly left back down the road by riders stronger than him.
By chance the points are so well split among the strongest riders that he keeps his jersey!

STAGE 4
"Last flat stage, not a lot to expect. There is some money to be made with intermediate sprints early in the stage and possibly a place in the stage if the breakaway succeeds. So make it in the breakaway".
Huff and Loutit both makes the breakaway, collecting petty cash but it was cought before the end and we didn't even bother to try anything in the massive sprint.
Being only 70% fit and so weak, the team had clearly not the level for this race (being last in team classification gives me a hint ). We have been very lucky to get the KoM.

STAGE 4
"Hilly day but with last climb far from the line, the objective should be defense today: Sergio and Bernard for the KoM jersey in the breakaway, Artem stays with the pack not to loose time to Borisov, final ITT should give us the final win tomorrow!
And, nice to be with you for your last 2 days racing before your long summer break!"
Van Ulden tries but Hernandez succeeds. The breakaway looks good until
It all finishes in sprint between last breakaway riders and strong men, but unfortunately a small gap opened at the end.

STAGE 5
"Final ITT. Congratulation for securing the KoM and also for all the work done so far during this past 3 months. I do think it has saved the team. Today Artem is the big favorite, though Borisov is a remote outsider so it will be hard to get more than 26'' on such a short distance. Still a nice win to collect and who knows?"
Ovechkin gets a 6'' lead when he passes the intermediate so the stage win was in the pocket. But he also feels very good so I started to have hope and push him as hard as I could for the second part of the race...
