Stage 8
Alps..alps. Moment we have waiting for..this is not a secret that If Pantani want to take tour win..he should try on every mountain something against Indurain. There is still two hugh TT to go.
Confusing moment..tour leader jalabert cant follow? No that is he's brother Nicolas. Laurent is still at the front group and giving 100% to keep he's leader jersey
When the last mountain starts Banesto long lineup moving to front to prepeare something for Indurain..no hide and seek play for Carrera jeans. Pulnikov and Chiapucci start to make fastest pace as possible...and they destroying all Banesto possible team plans
Many riders suffering..Jalabert is cracked.
Indurain atacks..Pantani dont panic at all. He didnt follow..just pulling main group even faster. Chiapucci is so good today..so much help for Pantani.
Indurain has moved front for selected eight(Rominger, Pulnikov, Chiapucci, Ugrumov, Hampsten, Berzin, LeBlanc)
When Chiapucci moves for another attempt Berzin, Leblanc and Hampsten cant follow anymore. In that climb I had serious doubt that was I choosing right..who's gonna be team leader. Chiapucci is just in dynamite form today.
Here they come..downhill section. This exating stage will end with climbers sprint..I predict Pantani..
Indurain has long talk with Chiapucci..that he should go front and make relay.
Rominger seems nervous..he opens the sprint..Pantani just waiting
Done..first stage win for Carrera team. Indurain get yellow and Pantani young rider shirt. Rominger is still angry about that mass crash..few stages back where he lost 2 very important minutes. Chiapucci ..bravo. He owns 50% at that stage win..and this isnt compliment... just fact. Pulnikov 14th. great..Kuum 25. that is a small surprise. GC standing looks great

Already another great story Guido.
Just wondering why doesn't Jalabert have his yellow jersey on in the first screenie of him in that last race when he is in 2nd group? |

Exelent remark..
Looking this screenshot and others also..Only one possible conclusion..in that downhill picture we have Laurent Jalabert brother..also ONCE rider Nicolas Jalabert. Damn those brothers..they fooled me this time ..
Gonna be editing that..and also post 2nd stages at Alps..go Pantani. |

Stage 10
Great,,great climber stage. Pantani will atack...he is realy motivated after yesterday stage win. Press main theory is that:he can flash one day allright..but he wont keep that pace 3 weeks
Riis dont wait today..he atacks at the first climb..ok we will see...
Seems like all young talents has something to prove after Pantani yesterday win..Virenque and Ullrich atacks. But not for long..peloton caching them fast.
i dont have seen so many atacks at the first time..and this is also badest place to puncture. Boardman..this is for him today. He cant cach main group today.
Peloton having realy fast speed..hugh splitand we have 75km. to go. 30 best climbers are separated..that race will be pure fun..and fighting for climber's.
Zulle who has been so far quite invisible..makes on of the greatest atacks of the tour..he jumps off at second group and caches favorites group.
Rominger, Indurain and Leblanc atack's. 3 best climbers for me opinion...Pantani looks a little nervous..But he keeps head cool.
He moves front at the group and starts chase..damn he's fast he destroyng that group...and he caches Indurain and Leblanc..Rominger still have small advantage.
He has courage..he dont want to work for Indurain and co. He atack's..this is gonna be hugh success or disaster.
He caches Rominger before end at that climb..great work young man. They gonna work together?
When the last climb starts..Rominger showing marks that he has difficulty to follow Pantani speed. Dont rush Marco there is 18km. still to climb.
There is just four riders left at Indurain group Elli, Cubino, Leblanc. But gap between Rominger is stabile 1min. and with Rominger to Pantani 25sec.
Jep..Rominger cant anything against Pantani..second stage win streight for Pantani, yellow shirt..with that he is already one of tour star's

Stage 11
Last Alps stage...Pantani will atack at Galibier. He need much more time advantage to keep he's leader jersey after TT. Before the tour there was question: Has Pantani already matured enough to be team leader. Now after two first mountain stages he has win both...and has taken yellow from Indurain himself.
Bruyneel going for another solo ride..
Galibier starts..and we have ordinary situation..Banesto and Mapei controlling the race. But already well known Carrera jeans trio is moving up..Pulnikov, Chiapucci and Pantani.
..and here we go. Fastest tempo has possible..They have already small advantage..
Todays hero is Pulnikov..when they passing breakaway riders. Pantani was a little stuck behind them..Pulnikov is super strong today..he has to wait a little Pantani. Chiapucci as serious difficulty to keep up with those two.Pulnikov will probably crack after 10km. he has given so much energy.Peloton is moving fast has possible..they dont want to let Pantani away so easy.
Rominger and Indurain atacks..for me that was a little weird that they waited so long..Probably they dont expect Carrera team last all the way.
Pantani get that info..thanks guys. great work..I have to go now.
Another good news for carrera jeans team..Rominger and Indurain has separated..they dont organisie that chase together.
Indurain passing Pulnikov..now he is after Chiapucci.
Pantani moving great..Indurain caching him..no way..he atacked to late. Gap between those two main favorites just keep increase.
Great..pure..clean stage win. After Apls 100% program..3 for 3.
..and even better this looks Chiapucci just can keep he's second place before Indurain...and if we look Indurain time. Ouch this is hugh time gap +3'55 for Pantani. Promising..first alp stage -stage win and young rider jersey.Second stage- stage win,and yellow shirt...and now..is this enough or Pantani have to repeat he's show at Pyrenes.

Stage 12
flat stage after hugh mountain stages..how much you always wait mountains..is always relief to get over with them. Sprinters day..what we should observe..at first Cippo and Abduzhaparov battle continous..who will be green jersey owner at the Paris. Traversoni ..still is after he's scheme..to be inside of top 10 sprinters
They jump out at the last corner..Skibby is leading. Traversoni doing that again: choosing wrong train.
Today we will introduce Gewiss rider named Vladislav Bobrik..he has been several time out there in breakaway group. Today he loses +7'35 todays winner. But this is also reason for that he was after mountain points..and succesful he was. He takes mounatin classification lead and polka-dot jersey.
There is new faces in front row..superstars like Cippo ,Ludwig etc. dont have chanche against those 3 ...Skibby, Bortolami, Ferrigato..
We have new Tour de France stage winner Andrea Ferrigato..
Now a little example what Traversoni can do..if he choosing correct train. Todays last km. When we have 800m. to go..Traversoni is 12. place..
In the line 5th..he has faster then : Cippo, Abduzhaparov, Ludwig, Zanini. That shows he's real potential...

Stage 14
Sprint stage..Cippo and Abduzchaparov has loosed he's superb sprint legs at the alps. Traversoni already thinking that he might have a chance for stage win.
Motorola team is up for something today..Traversoni has good position at ZG Mobili train, Abduzchaparov, Zanini,Ludwig. Cippo has clearly bad day. Abduzharov is after green jersey today.
TVM team is very activ as usual..Jeroen Blijlevens working for Skibby this time. At the tour first week this was opposite way. Skibby has probably feeling much better after mountains (yesterday 3rd.)
Here they come..Skibby leading..traversoni looks great. Zanini trying at left side..Abduzhaparov has usual has created clear line. Cippo is of the game..green is gone after today
Skibby..great job. Abduzhaparov takes green. We can find Laurent Jalabert at 30. place..ex. tour leader is totaly lost

Stage 15
Ok last sprint stage before TT and Pyrenees.
Hugh group separating after intermediate sprint...and there are? All top sprinters you name it Cippo, Abduzhaparov, Ludwig, Zanini..etc.
Carrera Jeans controlling the race..no rush. They planned not to start fast chase..just let sprinters waste more energy...60km. to go..chase is on..Carrera train pulling very fast. Sprinters have plan to hold they lead all the way.
No chanche..other teams also helped to chase them down. Here they are..probably also has loose energy enough to be out at final sprint.
..sprint. Traaversoni wll have best chanches today for stage win..now or never
Traversoni jumped out at the last corner..he is leading now...come on keep it this way.van Poppel is biggest threat..no way. Traversoni will celebrate today he's career top moments.
Few events more..Cippo is totaly cracked today. I'm already expecting thta superstar will step out of race. Probably he still have plans to take back green..
Banesto star Indurain is down at the mass crash..everything seems ok..no injury, no lost time.
Happiest man today..

Stage 16 (TT)
Boring stops..when Chis Boardman start he's day..he passes 3 rider's..this is not about seconds..he is 2'30 faster. (8. +1'14)
We have to wait over half hour..when we can find a rider who can get even close to Boardman time..Laurent Jalaber ..sprint legs or gone but rolling ok todays TT (14, +2'12)
Olano..strong spaniard who likes to be man after Indurain..(11. +1'42)
Castrorama TT specialist Thierry Marie (6. +56 sec.)
Breukink (4th. +34sec.)
Virenque has been hugh dissapoitment..cycling specialist's expecting that he will take festina captain role..but Leblanc has been so far much better (16. +2'29)
Another small dissapoitment Zulle (9. +1'16)
Now we have to talk about positive issues..Berzin has been just wondeful...ok there is also another youngster Pantani much better then Berzin..still great tour (2. +27sec.)
Rominger was nr. 2 GC win favorite..stupid fall where he loosed over 2min. this was hugh hit for he's tour (3rd. +28sec.)
Chiapucci..he is after podium place now..Has been helping Pantani 100%...
Indurain..this stage for hom is now or never he need to take few minutes back..damn he's fast ..stage win.
Pantani..he know how fast Indurain is moving..holding he's own speed..great (7. 58sec.)

Srage 17
Pyrenes..probably will see how banesto with he's leader Indurain...will atack against Pantani...and we cant forget there is one TT ride left.
Banesto controlling the race..they are planning something..
Last climb starts..Carrera jeans going for he's very succesful tactics..moving front at the group make very fast pull speed..take over Banesto control. Pantani is now at the defencive position..he's gonna be Indurain shadow for now. What ever Indurain does he follows.
Leblanc open's the game..first atack..
Zulle, Rominger..Rominger is off..Zulle has not enough power to follow.
..now it's time Indurain and Pantani follows.
Leblanc having solo ride. Indurain ..Pantani..Rominger trio caching early breakaway riders. Pantani gets for a moment stuck behind few riders Indurain want to use this opportunity. He moves front of that group..
..he's just gonna give up tour win so easy..he atacks when Pantani is chasing those two. Indurain using any trick he knows to get away for Pantani.
I am impressed about Pantani ride..he act's like mature rider..dont panic at all. He's coming back slowly but clearly.
Leblanc taking well deserved stage win..
Pantani has cached Indurain, Rominger duo..Indurain has extra speed left at final km. Rominger cant follow anymore.."shadow" follows.
Great ride Marco..first down ..2 to go.
