Mafia 2 was a real small map. I guess it'll be more than 10 times bigger, certainly.
Personally, I didn't like Mafia 2. It's not so bad as a game, but compared to the original Mafia, that was just so epic. Mafia 2 spend too much time in development and I waited so many years on it that it disappointed
But I see you how can really enjoy it, too had some good times on there
Instead of waiting for Amazon (+25€ cheaper), I cancellered and pre-ordered in GameMania instead, going to the midnight sale Now I can look forward to Monday evening instead of Wednesday/Thursday
I guess I might as well ask here, since GTA V is one of the main reasons I'm buying a PS3 in the first place: How much memory space is actually needed on a PS3? I know, that depends on the individual case but in general, is 12GB too little? And do you ever actually use 500?

12 is definitely too little.
I have 180 I believe, and it isn't full yet, though I'm not sure how many I use.
Given that only the Fifa 14 demo was 1,8GB, 12 is definitely too few.
Battlefield 3 for instance is 20 iirc. But that's one of the biggest ones out there, if not the biggest.

All i can say is f*ck GTA V... The series seriously lost out with IV when it became "serious" and "realistic". San Andreas was a move in the wrong direction but had enough fun left in.
Now it tries to be too big and too bland. The humor has gone, and if you play the old ones again you realize how over the top they were, and that without this they are just fairly bland overworked shooters.
That £50 can be put to a lot better use... I spent £25 on new bike locks, and £25 on handball equipment. My friend spent £30 on food and £20 on clothes. Much better investments.
Now i will look forward to getting the time to go back and play GTA London, 1969 before moving on to Vice City... FUN games
Humor gone? I don't think so, I saw a lot of funny things, actually. But those are just small things, yes. I like that there is a storyline, a rather serious one, but not like boring.
But allright, everyone his own opinion, I haven't played Vice City.
You are the first one I ever heard with that opinion though

Sounds a bit lowish. I'm a very casual gamer and have barely used it for any other games than FIFA and GTA, yet I've managed to use 22 GB (actually, more like 24 GB, but 2 of those are for games that I have downloaded to the console).
If you only play one game at a time and don't mind having to uninstall various stuff that previous games require to be installed to be playable, I guess it's theoretically possible to "live" with just 12 GB.
That being said, it is possible to put a hard drive in the 12 GB Playstation without too much hassle. Sony has released an 'official' mounting thingy for this purpose, and really - looks like anyone would be able to do it.
500 sounds really better especially if it's Portugal style. Here, a 500 GC white PS3 costs 289€ and a black PS3 with 12 GB costs an astonishing... 204€.

If you are only getting a PS3 to play GTA5 (probably also online for free) then 12GB might be enough to install the game.
If you don't bother about the Online for free part I don't see a reason why you shouldn't have a look at the XBOX 360. 250GB (probably also with 2 games) for just around 189€. Here I just see PS3s with 12GB for around 269-289€ which is bananas.

Personally, I'd prefer the PS3 above the XBOX, but lets not turn it into that kind of discussion here
I found a 500GB PS3 one for 230 Euros on a Dutch site and a 185 Euros 12Gb one, after a quick look, so shouldn't be thát expensive.
I can barely find things in between though.
Ontopic:
@Ian Those Typicalgamer videos are really nice, I watched a lot of them already

I don't know where you're looking but on Amazon, there are 12GB PS3s for 180€ new and 140 used
Anyway, thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll be looking around a bit and then either get a 12GB plus extra hard drive or the 500GB one. There's a bundle with GTA V on Amazon for 300€, maybe that's worth a look.
