End of January Press Conference:31/01

Press - So how do you think this month has gone.

SDB -I would say it's been quite a succesful month. With getting two podiums on the overall (Geraint Thomas, Santos Tour Down Under, Edvald Boasson Hagen, GP de Marseille) and i was especially happy with the podium place on stage 6 with Ben Swift. Well Done Ben.

Press - Whilst you were in Australia Bradley Wiggins seemed to take up your role in the press conference. Would you see him as being a coach or possibly even a manager.

SDB - Well i had that conversation with Brad, and i asked him what he would want to do when he retired from cycling and he said ' he would very much like to stay within cycling, even if it's a pundit a coach or even a manager and that he has loved cycling all his life and is honored to be a part of it to as long as his wife let's him.'

Press - Could you see him being a coach at sky or even replace you when you leave.

SDB - well he wont be taking my job that's for certain. No i'm only joking. I said to Brad when his contract run's out in 2015 that we would discuss wether he would stay on another or go to a different club, then he said that he wouldn't want to be at another club and that Sky's the only team he would want to be with. so then i asked him if when he retired if he would consider having talks about being a coach at sky, And he said he would be delighted to have those talks.

Press - What type of coach would you put Bradley as.

SBW - Well i would probably have him as a time-trialist coach and would definitely taking to as many tours as possible because he will be such an inspirational man in the coaches and would be one to look up to for the younger riders.

Press - Good to hear. How do you think your team will do in France now.

SDB - well as long as we don't give up to many time bonuses away I'm confident that Geraint or Bradley can win the GC.

Press - That will be all.

SDB - Thanks.
