EDIT: abovementioned is based on all the races i haven seen with Henao ofcurse
Oh, you'll eat those words in a month
I'm very confident Henao will be on the podium and absolutely certain that he's a better climber than Uran. Look at this year's Pais Vasco to see what he can do on climbs like those in the Vuelta.
Im getting grilled here, a lot of Henao support, interesting and very nice ! I hope he will live up to these expectations.
I will try to youtube it now, which stage to search for ? |

I might eat my words guys
How can I forget the Fleche Wallonne! I eat some of my words of Henao, but not all of them. Going to be very exciting, but I dont think he will finish in the top 3 this year. Might be surprised. But top 5 definately possible.
I still do rate Betancour as bit better and greater talent, I just might be a bit biased by the reminding of Iban Mayo. Gonna be an awesome race I guess ! |

Betancur is younger than him. for me he's a better talent than Henao. But Henao will be minimum in the top 5 at vuelta. he has peaked for it all season long. beancur was ill in the past few weeks. But I rate Henao a better climber than Uran. |

Henao won the Vuelta a Colombia at an extremely young age.
And people might not rate that race. But be sure, very sure, that neither Uran or Betancur could've copied that.
Only Quintana could (because Quintana is even better than Henao).
Imho in pure climbing abilitie
Quintana > Henao > Uran/Betancur
Then on hills
Betancur > Quintana/Henao > Uran

I'd say that Uran and Henao are quite equal in climbing.

I disagree. You only think that because you haven't seen Henao unleashed yet.
but in his last year before Sky he already did some spectacular stuff which I can never see Uran doing. + the Vuelta a Colombia bit. |

Henao is a better climber than Uran, he gets his shot to show it here.

I agree, Uran has been in Europe for ages, Henao should keep improving for a couple of years.
I feel bad for Uran, he gets 2nd in the Olympics and the Giro and yet is probably going to end up with the worst results of the 4 Columbians.

He doesn't like warm temperatures, so he wont do the Vuelta.

Henao is better than Quintana in hills. For me Quintana is the worst in hills from those four.He doesn't have a big acceleration like Henao/Betancur and doesn't have a very good sprint like Uran. For me Henao is the most complete colombian rider. Also his base form is incredible.Something like Evans.
For me is:
MO - Quintana>>Henao>Uran/Betancur
Hills - Betancur/Henao>Uran>Quintana - Henao beat Betancur in FW and on Trapagaran in Pais Vasco.Only hill race when Betancur beat Henao was LBL where Henao was very bad positioning on St.Nicholas.
TT (flat) - Henao/Quintana>Uran>Betancur

I'm gonna go with a (kinda) bold prediction regarding the winner:
1.) Henao
2.) Nibali
3.) Valverde
4.) Rodriguez
5.) Betancur
6.) Majka
7.) Uran
8.) Moreno
9.) Mollema
10.) Basso
KOM: Betancur
Points: Purito
Combine: Purito |

As far as I know, Stetina was nominated as a GC leader for Garmin some time ago, so it looks like they don't expect much from Martin, or they are going to change their mind, or it is just a red herring. :> |

No, of course, but how am I supposed to estimate how good a rider is if he isn't 'unleashed'. I mean, I can also say that Kelderman isn't unleased yet and is actually already capable of a GT win if they let him lead. But is that true? No.
Allright, though I still don't count the Vuelta a Colombia that much. Yes, it's tough, but only Colombians(alright, 3 others) were participating, and almost nobody of them has proven themselves in WT races. I guess it's just different climbing in Colombia, with the high altitude levels etc. Maybe Henao is just more used to that then Uran and is that why Henao could do it and Uran not. (Well, Uran never participated, so who knows?)
Henao has more potential, I definitely agree on that. But in 2013, they are about equal on mountain terrain.
Also, that doesn't mean that I rate Henao a bad climber, in fact quite good, I rate Uran high as well. Also, at this moment, Henao is in a lot better form than Uran, I think.
Allright, will post my Top 10 soon.

Last time you guys were hyping Henao I bought him instead of Uran for my Velogames Fantasy Giro squad. And then Uran wins a stage and gets second place in GC while Henao was no where to be seen. I would've finished in the top 10 if I bought Uran and not Henao.
But seriously, Henao might have more potential, atm Uran is the better climber of the two, while Henao is better in hills. |
