the daily show put it best. they just played a bush quote on brown. then they played a video of Brown talking about how he supports bush in every way.
Jon Stewart's comment was simply to hold out a bone in his hand and say "who's a good boy? who's a good boy? nice gordie, nice gordie. you're a nice gordie, yes you are"

it figures that your life's goal is to become prime-minister...and you're not an engineer either! (few people will get this joke)

yeah, but some magazine ran an article saying he didn't actually finish his degree and isn't actually an engineer.
it turned out to be crap and he did finish it, but there was so much misinformation thrown around and so many "he's not an engineer" jokes that a lot of people still think the rumour was true.
heck, I have a t-shirt saying "I was Sócrates' classmate at university"
then again i collect t-shirts with stupid sayings. right now I'm wearing one that says: "Unemployment 2008 - I'm going!" (you know...mocking those t-shirts that say stuff like: "[insert name of random music festival] - I'm going!" )

Talking about that...in some years there will be no Rock in Rio in Lisbon, because a mega-hospital is about to be built in that park, I think.
And yes, Socrates is an engineer...

Sorry to undig this thread but I have 3 things to say:
1) Good luck
2) What has it been like so far?
3) FEUP sucks... FEP on the other hand, is the pride of UP

due to burocratic reasons that are neither mine nor the company's fault I'll only start in August. In the meantime I'm working at INEGI. Which...well...sucks. But the people there are great. And it's only temporary
Basically every day on waking up my mind goes "Is it august yet?"
Above all because I'm waiting for that (hopefully) great day where I'll come into the office and they'll tell me "We need you in Dubai [insert any other random rich country in the world] during 9 months. you leave in 3 hours"
3) FEUP sucks... FEP on the other hand, is the pride of UP
Good luck finding a job FEP-boy

yeah, Flavio's a pain in the ass, he is. But you've got to remember he only says that to you because you go and talk to him
EDIT: also, he seems to appreciate the narration of the stages that you do.

That's too bad... It must be really disappointing to be expecting to begin working in a company and end up in another one, even if it is for a short period of time...

Good luck finding a job FEP-boy
I already have a job waiting for me to finish the course... Not based on merit, because I'm just getting started in FEP, but it's always good to have that safety net... And although I am in the course that has the bigger unemployment rate in Portugal, 90% of those unemployed have a 10/11 average... That's what you get for having a low entry average... But still, I wouldn't trade FEP for anything in the world... Who knows? I might even end up being your boss (not likely though)

You're fired Seriously, how cool would it be to have a boss like me?
Fyi: I was joking... Don't go thinking "oh good, another arrrogant bastard from FEP that thinks he's gonna rule the world"
