Let me just take this opportunity to share with you a talk I had with the DS after the time-trial.
DS "I understand that you're on top of the world now, that's fine. But I just wanted to let you know that you can't let it control you. For almost all of the riders here it's their first real race in 5 months or more, while you've been riding juniors in that time. You're on form, and their not. So you have to understand that you still need to work as hard as possible to keep your position, and your spot for the rest of the season."
Me "I understand, I was thinking why I was performing much better than I should've been."
DS "You still are, and let's hope you continue that. You just have to keep fighting. Remember, you're still a stagiare so you'll have a big rest after this. That means that you can give it your all now. That'll be all for now mate."
Me "Thank you."
DS "No problem, now you rest up. There's a big stage tomorrow."

TOUR DE SAN LUIS-STAGE 5
This is a big one, the GC should be decided today. I'm just going to try and stay in the lead group for as long as I can.
I started next to Weening and Moser. Two guys I haven't really got on the good side of so far. Weening for wheelsucking him on Stage 3 (he still beat me though ) and for quite aggressively fighting with Moser for the youth jersey. Oh well, all's fair in love and war, and we all had a nice chat together before the race, which was mostly me just asking what it was like to rider in the World Tour .
Lots of riders tried to get away, among them our very own Amir Rusli.
He was the only one to sprint for the intermediate points, and still only just won. Disgraceful and shocking... Disgrocking
Amir was fighting to stay on with the breakaway when they started to make moves. He was too tired from previous stages. Meanwhile, in the pack, I was feeling absolutely amazing.
At the foot of the climb, Serpa (LAM) and Kiendys (CCC) attacked and bridged the gap to the breakaway. Goesinnen and I were forcing the pace.
Most of the break were brought back, however Vorganov (KAT) and Schellinger (TNE) attacked and managed to stay away for a bit longer.
Schellinger was caught 23.5km out, while a split in the peloton meant that Goesinnen was out.
With no teammates in the group, I went back for water on the last bit of the climb.
BOOM! I was caught at the wrong end of a split, I thought I could get back though, so I gritted my teeth and really gave it my all.
It wasn't enough though, and I was soon with Floris in a small autobus.
Bazaev (AST) navigated some stupid spectators and some dodgy fence placement to take the stage win.
I finished in the first autobus with 28 other guys, despite the best efforts of Floris and Will Walker, who gave their hearts to bring me back. Thanks to them.
Post-Race
So, there you have it. I was on top of the world and now I've crashed back down into a hypothetical coal mine. One dodgy decision to go back and get water at the summit, and bye bye Ryan. I could've and definitely should've waited for the flat. Thanks a lot though to Floris and Will, who really put their bodies on the line for me.
Cheers, Ryan

Here we are at the start, I tell you I will be OK, I'm resistant to vodka!
Can't wait to show the team how good I am!
Road is starting to rise, I'm sitting in the back of the peloton. My legs feel OK, but my stocmah... stomach is starting to hurt... I'm not sure what's going to happen...
I'm feeling very... how do zey call it... dizzy, I'm losing contact with the peloton. I don't think I can finish the stage...
Yes, unfortunately I am done... maybe I should not have drank that last 3 litres of vodka... I wish I was now in that castle in the background, lying in a bed...
This is not OK. I was very irresponsible... I think that's how they call it.
I can't afford something like that again, it could cost me my career. RusVelo boss is surely not happy.
Fortunately I can still go on the Asian trip with my teammates. The next two races I will ride are the Tour of Langkawi and the Tour of Taiwan. I will try to perform better then. See you there! |

22 February – Vuelta a Andalucia
Doesn’t time fly? My first stage race has almost reached its conclusion and I have so far managed to come in the top 20 of a time trial and worked well as a domestique. Unfortunately, I have been a teammate in this race despite my obvious talent. Huzarski now has two days to try to bridge the considerable gap to Wegmann and it looks unlikely. However, the team will not stop fighting!
Today we have a stage with a hill at the end despite its classification as flat. Huzarski will be riding for victory today; the question is if the team has the strength to create a gap to the peloton.
The team assembled itself near the front early on and we found ourselves swarmed around the yellow jersey!
The peloton handling the first category 3.
With 7km to go to the finish, the break is caught but the team has faded from the front due to bad organization. We didn’t organize a train early enough and now it’s me and the team leader.
We forward fast to the final hundred meters where the win is took by Wegmann. Had Huzarski not wasted energy he could’ve won though.
Huzarski in second…

GC remained unchanged except for Huzarski climbing from 10th to 7th due to time bonuses.
Huzarski was happy at the end of the stage although he criticised the team for not being able to lead him out. I told him that he wasted his energy on a foolish attack and he seemed to shut up a bit then although he was clearly infuriated about losing the victory. The DS then managed to calm him down whilst I began my warm down exercises. There seems to be some friction at the moment between me and Huzarski which is annoying as all I have been doing is my job, I'm trying to impress these people and not annoy them as well. The DS seems to like me though.
Tomorrow is the queen stage though and it will be interesting to see who wins. We'll back Huzarski to the end and hopefully he'll finally deliver victory. Wegmann seems unstoppable at the minute though so we'll have to wait and see... |

Agreed that Vodka report was the funniest thing I've read in a story I think!! Great Stuff.
The friction elsewhere is for all to see, how long will you support Huzarski before you start to do things for yourself...ill be interested to see.
Excellent stuff from all 3 of you, keep up the good work, ill be following this one! |

TOUR DE SAN LUIS-STAGE 6
Me at the start, not really much to say.
Eduard Vorganov (KAT) managed to get into consecutive breaks, but he wasn't really able to do much. Petrov (CJR) managed to get to the Cat. 2 before Adam Hansen (LTB).
There was no fight for the intermediate sprint points. Steve Chainel (ALM) and Failli (AND) took them respectively.
Four riders tried to get up to the breakaway. They were Serpa (LAM), Louder (UHC), Kiendys (CCC) and Konig (TNE). They got away for quite a while, but the peloton was looking to go to the finish.
As the rode rose, attacks cam from the breakaway. Some riders were having trouble keeping up. Vorganov was showing us that he still had gas left in the tank, while Petrov seemed to be the strongest.
As the peloton got really close, it started to form a straight line. This meant that some of the riders found themselves struggling to stay up front.
I tried my best to stay with the leaders on the last climb, but it was hard. Vorganov and Petrov were still ahead though, definitely trying for the stage win.
We could see them at the front of the peloton, but when going uphill a few metres can be a lot of time.
And Vorganov stayed ahead! The Russian champion seemed to defy all the odds on the stage after being in the breakaway on the previous stage too and finishing in an autobus. He took some significant time on the rest of us. Pieter Weening (OGE) was showing that he was on some early season form. Getting second just behind. Denis Menchov showed that even at his age he has what it takes to compete, making it two Russians on the podium. He also managed to take yellow, and so late on in the tour that he might be able to keep it.
I finished at the back of my little group. The yellow and white jerseys were also there but as mentioned earlier Velits didn't do enough to keep his overall lead.
Pre-Race
Good result for me really. I finished with the yellow and white jerseys in the first real group. That makes me 6th in the youth classification, which is right now lead by Tim Wellens (LTB), even after what happened on Stage 5.

TOUR DE SAN LUIS-STAGE 7
Wow. my first race as a pro is almost over. One more stage now, flat. One for the sprinters. Seeing how we've gone in the sprints so far this might just be a race for me to spectate .
6 riders formed the breakaway, no-one of note though. So let's fast forward to the final kilometres.
We were really hoping to do something on the stage, so we committed all our men to the sprint train.
I took over just as we were catching the last of the breakaway.
Unfortunately we couldn't produce (again). It was CCC's Marycz who took the final stage of the Tour de San Luis by quite a margin.
Final Overall Standings
Denis Menchov (KAT) was the strongest in early-season Argentina. The yellow jersey switched hands quite a few times:
Stage 1: Manuel Beletti (ALM)
Stage 2: Daryl Impey (OGE)
Stage 3: Romain Bardet (ALM)
Stage 4: Peter Velits (OPQS)
Stage 5: Peter Velits (OPQS)
Stage 6: Denis Menchov (KAT)
Peter Velits was the only rider to wear the yellow jersey for 2 days, but he won't take much consolation in that. Otherwise, the winner of whatever stage (except for Stage 7) was in yellow the next day.
Final Young Rider Rankings
King of the Mountains: Denis Menchov-Katusha
Sprint Points: Daryl Impey - Orica-GreenEDGE
Post-Race
What an amazing experience to be part of! This is amazing, the first race of my professional cycling career is over now. It was a great experience and I hope to be part of a lot. According to my schedule I will next be racing in the Strade Bianche- translated into White Roads.
See you in Italy!

BEAUTIFUL TUSCANY
In preparation for the Strade Bianche, the selected team went sightseeing in Tuscany and Siena, the area where the race will be held. Here are a few pictures I took during the trip.
Tuscany
Siena
How beautiful is the area?! I just hope that I don't get distracted by the scenery during the race . I'll have an actual cycling preview up soon.
Cheers, Ryan

Bad news.
My save game won't load.
I might be able to continue in the story but as PCM 12 isn't working for me I can't complete the season.
Basically, whenever I try to load a game it crashes.
I'll be back with a new story (I was planning to anyway) as PCM 13 is working.
I could continue in the story but right now things don't look good |

The same thing was happening to me until yesterday. Just uninstall the game and re-install it. The files will all still be there.

francopell - Have you tried using an earlier save game from your weekly save list?! You may have to replay certain stages/race but it will mean not having to give up on the story... |
