In many of my continental races the finish is quite narrow and all riders sprint in one block, making it impossible to pass the first row all sprinting on one line no matter how much energy my rider has.
Is there any setting or similar to ensure this does not occur? When I run a sprint train I can usually split the peleton up enough to avoid it, but when I have a lone sprinter following another this occurs too often.
It's more a question that I don't have strong enough squad to send a train to all races, so for less important races or stage races with few sprint stages I usually only have one sprinter following others.
I don't experience this as often on WT level, maybe because a larger spread on the sprinting skills. In continental races there can be 20-30 sprinters between 70-75 in SP.
Continental races are a carnage for sprints. There are way too many sprinters and way too many leadouts... But I guess it happens in RL too. I've been struggling with sprints for a season and for the new season, even more so. You either have a very good leadout (and in very good shape) or just forget about sprinting all together, unless you can find a decent wheel to follow.
Plus, be very careful with your leaders as cuts in the field are very usual and time can be lost in a flash.
I think that in certain aspects, continental can be a lot harder than WT.
