Cheers all,
Yeah can't ask for much more from Stage 1 tbh, Roelandts did well but I knew his legs couldn't hack the sprint...
Someone asked for my PC spec, the old girl is clocking on a bit:
i7 2600K - stock or at 4.5ghz OC
8GB Ram
580 GTX Sli
256gb SSD

Kroon Edges out Jungels
by: Cycling News
All change in the TdU as Kroon and Jungels spoil the party
A testing day for all in the 116km ride from Mount Barker to Rostrevor, saw a change in leader of the Tour, as Team Saxo-Tinkoff's Dutchman Karsten Kroon came through to edge out Luxembourger Bob Jungels as FDJ fell away at a crucial stage.
Above: FDJ setting the pace with Vichot tucked in just behind
The early pace was indeed set by Vichot's FDJ team-mates as they looked to protect the Orange Jersey, however once a mini breakaway formed with about 30km to go, the FDJ train struggled to keep up and eventually rolled home with the rest of the peloton.
FDJ General Manager Marc Madiot said "The team had a plan to set the pace and hopefully control the rest of the field. Unfortunately individual had different ideas and when they kicked we didn't have enough in reserve to kick as well"
Kroon and Jungels would eventually leave what was a 5 man breakaway to work towards the finish, before setting up a dramatic run in that almost saw the need for a photo to split the riders. Kroon who now leads the General Classification standings was quoted "Unbelievable... I knew that Jungels was with me, but we worked well together and in the end I got the stage win, its a great feeling"

Wow, still impressed by your story-telling you must put a lot of time in it, since most are made into pictures you can upload
Anyway, it was strange hearing Marc Madiot so calmly |

FDJ Back on Top
by: Cycling News
RadioShack failed in their break; Delage becomes 2nd FDJ stage winner
If it were July and in the South of France, a whole country would be going wild as one of their home teams has started a little spell of domination here in Australia, collecting a 2nd stage win out of 3.
Mikael Delage this time came through to pip Beppu, Voigt and more notably Dumoulin (Argos-Shimano), who himself did enough again to this time take charge of the GC and have the honour of riding with the Orange Jersey in Stage 4.
Dumoulin remarked "We said today, lets help someone get close and I think the team did all they could, but I had to take it on my own towards the end to ensure that I could finish with the leaders. Its unexpected, but its nice and we will see what happens from here on in"
Above: RadioShack wanted to help keep Jungels at the head of the race; however the heat won out in the end
The heat once again took its toll on the riders with many contenders finishing well off the pace, as the TdU continues to surprise us with its outcomes so far.

Garmin Navigate to Victory
by: Cycling News
Above: Sweet Taste of Victory!
Dumoulin retains overall lead as Garmin's Maaskants takes the Stage
Day 4 and we are now entering the business end of the Tour Down Under and once again we have another stage winner, this time coming from Garmin-Sharp as Dutchman Martyn Maaskants sneaked through to pip American Huffman of Astana.
With the peloton mainly in tact, there was no change at the top of the General Classification as Dumoulin remains ahead of FDJ's Delage, who at 14 seconds adrift is potentially the only realistic challenger going into tomorrows penultimate stage.
As for today, we saw a resurgence in form from many riders and teams. Lotto-Belisol held a strong train and ensured their riders all came home in the pack, whilst BMC were very prominent early on before tailing off as we hit the final third.
Another new face on the podium today was Sky's young Englishman Peter Kennaugh who took charge of the Mountain points. He happily spoke after the race "Its nice to get some recognition out here, as a team we haven't really exerted ourselves on the Tour, but there have been bits and pieces that we can take away from here and develop on. Personally its nice to be prominent, but there's alot laying ahead to focus on"

Nordhaug Cruises Home
by: Cycling News
A pileup obliterates the field as Nordhaug closes in on Dumoulin
"Sometimes those are the breaks you get, today we went out to get something from this tour but a poor decision on a turn and the bike goes from under you. I take the blame and hopefully we can have an impact on the final day" said Lotto-Belisol's experienced Greg Henderson.
Lotto have struggled to make a real impact on this Tour but still harboured hopes for a strong finish for Roelandts and maybe a stage win, especially with Greipel in their ranks. However after a strong start and a decent looking train, Henderson's fall and subsequent crash with Sieberg all but put those thoughts on hold.
Above: Celebrations can begin for Belkin
Outside of Lotto's disaster, Belkin had a positive outcome as Norweigan Nordhaug took off to snatch the stage win and push himself into 3rd in the GC standings. However Dumoulin did extend his lead over Delage to go into tomorrows final run at Adelaide with a healthy 38 second advantage.
