This one is made for Kristoff.
I think Sagan will be his toughest opponent but once again get second.

The breakaway is apparently formed and currently it consists of Arashiro and Reza of Europcar, Lutsenko of Astana, Sicard of Euskaltel, De Gendt of Vacansoleil, and Delaplace of Sojasun. |

Over 12 minutes. Still 200k to go though. Going to be a long one. |

Sounds like De Gendt picked up the two points at the first Catagory 3 climb. Assuming the he takes full points over the route he could be within 3 points of Rolland at the end of the day in the King of the Mountains classification.
No idea if De Gendt is harbouring any intentions of challenging for the KoM jersey but it may be something he could target. |

Thankfully for Rolland, Europcar put two of their riders in the break to grab points.
Working well so far... |

I was thinking that as well, and maybe pick up a stage win along the way somewhere. Although they're not gonna let him get back too close.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Is the stage easy enough for Greipel to get to the finish in the main group? |

That's the question we're stuggling with as well
It should be easy enough, yeah. But the last 80km are all up-and-down, so it might be too tiring for the top-sprinters if the peloton drives a hard pace.

Possibly...the last climb is uncategorised and has some sections around 6% but the road is wide and I think we could see our first proper bunch sprint (probably minus Kittel mind ). |

Arashiro was so focussed on the spectators with Japanese flags that he completely missed that KoM sprint

Go home (to the peleton) Europcar you've been no good at these "deny the opposition points" tacticals for the last two stages with points.
De Gendt with another point to his name though in the King of the Mountains classification. |

Cavendish not really launching again, wonder if that's because he can't or doesn't want to. |

It does make you wonder indeed, what they're doing there in the first place if they can't even stop a recovering TDG with 2 guys on a cat. 4 climb.
Oh well, gogo TDG for combatitive prize today and KoM in the Pyrenees! |

What do you think of King being out due to the time limit? I don't see why people are up in arms about letting him back in. I mean, he didn't make the cut so there's no reason to let him back.
It's bad enough that the organizers doesn't care about the time limit because it's a large amount of riders, but it just gets plain silly if you should be allowed to continue because "you were sooo close".
If you're out, you're not. No ands, ifs or buts. Unless you're Cav, ofcourse, then you can arrive three days late.

I feel sorry for the guy because he was injured and was close but the rules are there so I agree with him being kicked out.

Greipel must be feeling confident about his chances of making it to a sprint finish and winning it with Lotto-Belisol coming to the fore to help chase down the breakaway.
Greipel nailed the sprint at the Intermediate Sprint again in front of Kristoff, Sagan, and Cavendish. |

It depends on your philosophy of why it's there. If it's primarilly there to make sure riders stay honest and can't have a day off riding at a leisurely pace then it's probably a bit harsh. He seemed to be trying and they can make an exception (seemingly they can make exceptions partly because that is part of the theory behind the rule?).
On the other hand being outside +25% is a long way out and perhaps if he can't make it he shouldn't be still riding and potentially doing some long term damage to himself.
Ultimately I can't remember anyone successfully arguing with a TdF decision, they just seem to become more and more entrenched, so best to suck it up, take a bit of publicity and move on (of course difficult not to sympathise with him though).

A good Cavendish wins this stage, no doubt. Just wonder how strong he is today. |

Apparently Bouhanni is struggling with stomach problems today. |
