Strade Bianche
Today's race has the first major goal for the team. A place in the top 10 is what they set up to do. Let's see if they can make it:
Right from the get go a breakaway of 3 riders formed. And they stayed in fron for a long time.
20 km to go: Attack of a group of 8. Reichenbach missed the departure of this group and had to counter on his own. With the help of Fumeaux he got back into the chasing group.
10 km to go: Reichenbach still is looking good for a place in the top 10.

5 km to go: Reichenbach is in 10th place with a small lead over a chasing group. Does he have some extra fuel left for the final sprint?
He didn't! Reichenbach finished as unlucky 13th. While Ratto (CAN) takes home another victory.

Trofeo Zssdi
Welcome to another race day in Italy. Todays race is another prep race for Tissot. Let's see if anyone of the Team will show of his skills in the last climb today.
The races started slow. With a breakaway of 3 guys, but the peloton didn't seem to care much about those 3 guys.
And they got caought back rather easily once the peloton put the pedal to the metal.
20 km to go, just in front of the final big climb. It seemd that today was Fumeaux's day. The ifrst attacks came and he was on his feet to follow those attacks attentivley.

5 km to go: Fumeaux once again just misses the legs to keep up with the best in the peloton. He manages to hang on, but he just misses the power to attack and catch Grazelli (VIN) who managed to slip away from the pack.
So it's once more up to Reichenbach to finish strong. He's been very passive today, but managed to hang on to the leading group. And with just a little over 2 km to go it's time for his attack. He quickly gaines several meters between him and the peloton. Just Rabottini (VIN) manages to barely follow him.

Another second place for Reichenbach! Having seen Team Tissots performance today it seems that only Reichenbach has what it takes to compete for a victory. We'll have to see how the team will develop over the rest of the season.

Just got through reading this. Good luck with it, seems you may need it in the 1st season, as you said Reichenbach looks like he may be the only one challenging for meaningful victories.
Hopefully the team can get their acts together and at least provide some meaningful support.
Best of luck I will be following with intrigue! |

Owen makes a very good point (although without maybe even knowing it himself ), although Reichenbach seems like he may do very well this season, he needs decent support otherwise there's no way he can compete on a consistent basis when doing all the work himself. Plus, he can't exactly go to EVERY race, you need stronger GC riders and climbers |

With my limitations I've set myself those are pretty much the best riders I can currently get. I'll certainly look very closely on the u23 races and get all decent swiss riders I can...
Will have to see how the second team will ride. I hope they do better, but I doubt it
I'll try for at least 3 seasons. If I see that it's not possible and I don't get any decent riders I might expand the team to austria and germany as well, 1/2 swiss, other half mixed, or even 1/3 ffa... |

Yeah that's what I was thinking, you wouldn't be able to be successful in the Pro Tour with an all Swiss team. |

I think you can get to the top with Swiss riders With enough patience and trial-and-error mode from scouting, it'll work |

10th March 2013
Paris - Troyes
Bienvenue à Paris!
Let's get right to the race, shall we?
The beginning of todays race was rather quiet. A breakaway of 3 move up front but never got further than 5 minutes away from the peloton.
With 35 km to go Schelling tried his luck today with an attack. He rode hard for the next kms but the peloton was riding hard to catch him again.

15 km to go: Schelling gets wheeled back into the peloton. 4 Riders are still in the front, with just a few seconds ahead it still is anybodys race.
And with the final climb it's time for the leaders to make their moves.

10 km left, Gross lead Reichenbach ahead of the pack. They were trying to get ahead of the peloton in this final descent!

5 km to the finish: Slowly but steadily they pull ahead. One meter after another Reichenbach lead by Gross manage to widen their gap.
The Breakaway is too far ahead tho. They will sprint it out amopngst themselves. But maybe Reichanbach still can catch Guillou (BSE) who is just 20 seconds ahead.

2.5 km to go: With the peloton closing in Reichenbach launches his final attack. He passes Guillou (BSE) with ease... Bertling (TRS) and Mooney (JSH) are not too far ahead, will Reichenbach catch them and get on the podium? He's sprinting full speed... and passes Bertling (TRS). But there comes the peloton! Mooney (JSH) over the line as second... Reichenbach... comes in third! Fantastic finish by him and Gross!

GP Nobili Rubinetterie Coppa Citta di Stresa
Todays breakaway consitet of 10 riders. Schelling from Tissot was one amongst them.
They worked well together, continiously expanding their lead to over 6 minutes.
50 km to go and the first of the two big climbs of the day: The breakaway still has 3:20 advance. Right from the bottom of the climb Schelling goes into offence forcing a high pace.
But the peloton set up a high pace themselves. Slowly diminishing the lead.

28 km to go: The breakaway was in the second climb, and with Schellings high pace the group of 10 split into two groups, leaving only 6 riders in the front. With 2:40 km to go it will be a close call for the breakaway.
20 km left: 2 minutes left for the breakaway that just passed the last climb. Looks like they will get trough. So for Tissot it's all on Schelling for a good result today. Let's see if he still has some fuel left for the final sprint, or if he worked too hard on those steep climbs.

5 km to go: The breakaway starts to sprint for the victory, but Schelling can't compete and has to let the other 5 go. And he comes in as good 6th. Overall a strong performance from him today, especially on those steep climbs.

Settimana Coppi e Bartali - Stage 1
Welcome to the first stage of this years Settimana Coppi e Bartali. Todays stage started with a breakaway of 3 that quickly gained 5 minutes to the peloton.
But the peloton never was too concerned about them and seemed to conserve their energy for the comming days.
20 km left: only 2 riders remain in front, with just 1:45 in front of the peloton. It's going to be tough for them to finish in front of the peloton.

10 km to go: Just 1 minute gap.
Meanwhile Reichenbach rides a very relaxed race today, and it seems like he'll take his chances in the comming days...

The two breakaways made it with just a few meters advance. And Fumeaux , after working for Reichenbach all day sprinted in the Peloton and got a good 4th place.
