Happy to see that we are able to establish a lead-out. Marinangeli and Craven has put in a couple of very good performances in the sprints. The 4th place from Marinangeli was especially impressive. He had a powerful kick also on the latter stage, but the tough finish was a kilometer too long for him.
The strong Pokerstars train makes it hard to capture a stage win here, though. The fact that our normally best sprinter Van Avermaet also stays out of the sprints, doesn't make the situation any easier. I expected much more of him, to be honest.
Loanie Favilli is having the best race of his season so far. 10th place on one stage and leading the KoM classification is way over my expectations. It will be tough, but I hope he can hang on and take the jersey.

Ha, I did not realize you replayed the race at first. Glad you did though, because Pedraza was not brilliant in that wrongly labeled stage.
Soon time for the TTT, really hope it will pay off sending Fiedler to this race instead of Dauphiné, where he could've got some good individual results. Looks like Pedraza could gain a lot of places with a good TTT, but you never know.

Pretty annoyed about those sprints, no problem being beaten by Holloway and Van Avermart. But Amador and Boassen Hagen?
Oh well, obviously had my share of fortune this year and I would swap a shitty race here for something special from JVH at the tour.
Onto the key section of this race, Hagen can he rely on his team in the chrono?

First of all, enjoyed the report. It was a tricky TTT to call, late race TTT's a bit out of the ordinary (most races put them either at the beginning of one or two stages in). In this case it seems to have increased the intrigue.
Second of all and I mean this in the nicest possible way ember, I think I speak for everyone when I say F*** you Hagen. Actually there was no way to say that nicely
LL Sanchez showed in the Vuelta is is very vulnerable in the climbs certain riders like Schleck, Machado, Amador, Rujano and Pluchkin are queued up behind him... and of course now Edvald Bloody Hagen!

Well, I would have liked to have got on the podium for the TTT, as it was a kind of pre-Tour test, though I have to be happy with being only 30 odd seconds down what with the hilly nature of the course.
Hopefully Ignatiev being brought in for the Tour will bump up the firepower some. |

I guess I just cant break the bad luck. 14th in the TTT with a team that should be top 5, is just hopeless, and the fact that mountains doesnt work means that Fothen wont even make the top 10.

Wow, Amador is looking really good here. Glad he's been contesting the sprints, that worked out well with the bonus seconds. I'm really happy we were able to take a stage win here at the home race above all!
I like the way this race is going, but it will probably turn in Schleck's favor in the mountains.

I'm sorry for not posting any reports yesterday. Work with Hushovd and the Norwegian road race championship just took too much time.
I hope to post stage 8 in 10 hours or so, and then post the final stage early tomorrow.
Again, sorry for the delay, but hopefully you'll get the reports in the coming 20 hours |

Don't stress yourself. I'm sure we will survive without a stage for a day of two

Bacardi really having a horrible season and might relegate even though their team doesn`t look weak at all...
Burghardt in the cobbled races - underperforming...
Ricco - Not as strong as last season
Intxausti - What a joke...
They will need lots of high pointers in the rest of the season. |

What's wrong with Pluchkin this season?

Intxausti really is their only hope, and in a team of underperforming leaders, he's even the worst so far.
I assume he's doing the TdF, then he has probably Colombia and Deutschland Tour left to get some massive points.
Still, for me they're sadly close to be doomed, as the points from Ricco and Burghardt winning Lombardia (?) and ToNE possibly wouldn't get them out of the CURRENT relegation zone.
Speaking of which, that was definitely at least one attack too many for Pluchkin, and Brajkovic couldn't deliver either.
Kohl should take some nice points for Pendleton's, but they look "best of the rest" at the moment anyway.

Favilli crashing and losing his KoM jersey to Amador is not at all what I had hoped for. I hope he's not injured and still able to fight for points on the last stage. He is still in a very good position to win it.

It's all set up for quite the battle on the last stage. LLS just holding on.
Very pleased to see a rider in the breakaway - which is gave my team an interest.
Intxausti and Pluichkin being not as good this year... Two reasons for me.
1) Mountains/cobbles less selective. Early attackers are disadvantaged.
2) Other climbers have improved, Protour is stronger overall.

Costagli is the biggest loser for me! 15 minutes lost and with it the Young Riders jersey. Great work. |

Uran, you idiot! Attacking on flat to empty yourself for the climb is clearly a great idea!
