I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed so far... I thought that you'll come with something completely new for PCM 2013, not with basically the same. I'd love to see you do something else than a one/two rider story, but maybe that won't happen. Anyway's, I'll still follow, good luck Ian, break records with that one too!
FDJ isn't a bad choice, although I'd loved to see him in IAM, it's so fun to play with them!
Oh and please don't say, that I started many SpiderTech stories... (I did, but...)

Something completely new? I can't invent new things for every story, you know. I'm real excited about doing this, so sorry if it's just another boring one-rider story to you

Well, I understand, I'll follow and everything, was just a bit disappointed to see, you know...
Ah leave this, good luck Ian, hopefully this one will bring success and excitement, like Stijn and Willy did!
EDIT: Not every, but sometimes...

Well, maybe you're right. But the fact is I started this story, I'm very much into it so I will continue it either way. I can have a million followers or only 1 (sutty's always there ) and it won't matter. The strength of a story is not how original it is, for me. It's about writing good reports and putting a lot of work into it, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do! So you can be disappointed, but I say, wait with judgement until the racing begins, maybe

How can you name Offredo for the cobbles and not Ladagnous?
Some tough goals! But I think you can do that, you're a big talent Jean!
It's actually more personal, I see incredible potential in Offredo. Maybe I should've mentioned Ladagnous, too, but the entire team is just so talented I can't name them all! I hope I can achieve all my goals, I'll strive for them with all my focus!

That's a very good team choice, with all those other young talents, I'm sure the team will suit you
Thanks! It's great to be part of a team this young, there's a lot of energy and potential. We might miss some experience once in a while, but that's why we have Marc Madiot as DS!

Wow, a salary of 36.000 isn't less money. Why is the amount of your salary so high?
Well, it's on a yearly basis, so it's a decent starting salary! I hope to have fun, too, but I mostly hope to prove I'm worth that yearly salary!

Nice team choice
I'm glad you like the team! I've always liked FDJ, too! Though I must as an amateur you don't have much choice. I was given this chance and I'm thankful for it!

I understand and agree, I think you're far the most talented writer here (sorry if I offended anybody) and it would be nice to see something else from you, other than what we already saw. Of course, the most important is that you have fun with it, it seems nice so far though. I didn't mean to "judge" it, maybe it just sounded like that, but it wasn't my intention. Looking forward to the racing, hope you will improve the reports even more, as you did with every new story of yours.

Okay, thanks for explaining better.
Just, the way I see it, story writing is a big hobby of mine, and I plan to keep doing it for a long time. So I'm not a rush to do a team story, one day it'll happen. But seeing that the mountain AI will improve a lot, I felt like doing a story with a pure climber (which I never done before), fight for KoMs, try to win a stage race despite time trials. And also make the story more personal (This story will focus on other stuff besides racing, too).
It's just that your comment really dissuaded me at first But I hope you'll enjoy the story!
After receiving my training gear yesterday, and the temperatures climbing to high degrees for late October, I decided to take my new jersey and bike for a spin! With my gear, I also found a package in the mail, it was a training schedule and diet written out by the team. Surprisingly, I'll have to cut down on riding. I used to go riding a lot more, but they warn me I'll burn out if I do that on a higher level.
First training in FDJ outfit
The training today went great. I've never had such an amazing bike. It's extra light so it's a perfect training for the mountains. Though on a day like this, I must admit, I miss the mountains of my home, where I used to set personal records. However, Martigny isn't far away so I might make it there on weekends, though the winter might arrive at any moment now.
Today's profile had two classified climbs and was about 110km, so it was a good training, I reckon. Especially since I went solo all the way. Though Gina and my dad followed me with the car (with spare parts on top).
Gina and my dad can't catch up!
The reason why it was only 110 km was because I also left some time open to get some training on the time trial bike. I might as well start training it, since I'm classified "worthless" on it.
To ease me into the art of time trialing, the team management haven't given me a complete time trial bike just yet. They transformed a regular, light, bike to a semi-time trial bike.
But nevertheless, it was a horrible training. I didn't match the speed the training sheet suggested and I was 0% aerodynamic.
Is this aerodynamics? Think not...
The bike is way too light, too. The wind was blowing pretty hard near the end of the training and I almost fell twice. I'm not comfortable on a bike like this.
Only uphill I matched the suggested speed
All in all it was a nice day, though. I love the FDJ outfit, it's white and clean, though after today's training I'll have to wash it to keep it that way. The bike is amazing. I'm afraid about the time trial results, though. If I want a new contract for 2014, I'll have to train hard on that part!
