Missed his fall? Pfft

But a nice result for the team, considering the lack of a decent sprinter.
A shame that the team doesn't have one, most sprint stages will end like this... Smile

Haha, you got me! Grin
And thats one of the reasons why we will try to get Bole next season. He is our first transfer goal! Smile

Pre-stage comment

And we comes to terrain where we have absolutely no chances for win. Its short stage, reserved only, and only for sprinters. Our best one is Hocevar with 67 SP , but can that get enough , for at TOP20?

Report

Last stage of Valley of the Sun Stage race for 2013.
Its flat stage and only 70km long , so only sprinters has chances here!

At start of the stage, peloton didn't want to let anyone goes infront, but after few tries, they allowed them, but not with gap more than 2 minutes.
Members of breakaway group was: Frattini, McCarthy , Mucelli and Mortensen.

www.dodaj.rs/f/3z/Ys/4IdIoglb/pcm-2013-04-30-20-25-51-.jpg

Few minutes after that, an american youngster (with strange surname  ), Wrona , decided to join breakaway, and try something!

www.dodaj.rs/f/16/W2/3D052pdP/pcm-2013-04-30-20-26-38-.jpg

Nothing interesting to report in next 50 kms,when,E1 got caught at 17,5 kms until finish.

www.dodaj.rs/f/2j/zB/4aCqbKU0/pcm-2013-04-30-20-28-21-.jpg

Aaand, after everything got prepared, trains , positions, sprint could start. Hocevar got Clancy's wheel who was at about 3-4 position,Hocevar was pretty good today, indeed!
After great sprint, total favourite for todays race,Juan Jose Haedo got win today. But what place got Hocevar?

Pre-race comment

With these riders we can do something. It will be great if we get TOP15 with teams such as Sky,Omega-Pharma and Cannondale parcipating.

Report

At the start of the stage, many riders tried tons of times but peloton didn't want to let them go. This is breakaway, probably 20th or something, but first one that got bigger advantage. Riders in this one was : Polivoda , Koch , Popkov and Del Santo.

www.dodaj.rs/f/2F/iB/2CKKAREF/pcm-2013-04-30-22-21-59-.jpg

Gap was bigger and bigger, and , at the end of 1st lap (out of 3) , gap was 6 minutes. This was also kind of terrain checking.

www.dodaj.rs/f/1V/le/2VWULrao/pcm-2013-04-30-22-23-50-.jpg

At the front of the group, chasing teams was AG2R and OmegaPharma. These guys has some awesome players, that can win this!

www.dodaj.rs/f/2k/nF/4GmlJ4BT/pcm-2013-04-30-22-25-33-.jpg

48 kms to go, After shortening gap to 1'50" , Popkov decided to attack! Few minutes after,he got caught by E2.

www.dodaj.rs/f/V/2u/2OM3hWiX/pcm-2013-04-30-22-29-53-.jpg

Meanwhile,at group, Leukemans, Boasson Hagen and Betancur attacked! They are favourites,so peloton should get this really seriously!

www.dodaj.rs/f/3z/ko/QpZtgyp/pcm-2013-04-30-22-30-40-.jpg

But,OmegaPharma got that quickly. Now there are few riders 100 meters in front of peloton, with Leukemans chasing.

www.dodaj.rs/f/v/12G/4aUiSj2D/pcm-2013-04-30-22-31-58-.jpg

Aand,2 minutes after that, there is about 100 riders in peloton. Its compact group. 3 riders from Adria - Mobil are there.

www.dodaj.rs/f/40/CO/3Ih9yhOf/pcm-2013-04-30-22-33-03-.jpg

Murgeli felt great and he attacked on next climb, now its only 7km to go,so he can get some awesome result! Also , Boasson Hagen attacked with him, again.

www.dodaj.rs/f/V/77/15bAwUlk/pcm-2013-04-30-22-33-40-.jpg

Sprint is just about to start,Boasson Hagen and Murgeli infront of E2 (made by 8 riders). This is just awesome! Can Murgeli get podium?

www.dodaj.rs/f/2J/FU/EKmarJS/pcm-2013-04-30-22-34-21-.jpg

Hagen started sprinting and any chance for anyone just disappeared. Now its question, who will be 2nd , 3rd , top10.

www.dodaj.rs/f/2g/UZ/29lhPgUt/pcm-2013-04-30-22-35-03-.jpg

Group behind started sprinting,also.

www.dodaj.rs/f/1V/A9/3cUh33DE/pcm-2013-04-30-22-35-07-.jpg

And, Eddie got it, great win for him, but what can Matej do?

www.dodaj.rs/f/0/xM/3Rhzdpz8/pcm-2013-04-30-22-35-45-.jpg

Matej, with his bad sprinting skills finished 11th. Thats great result!!!

Stage no.1

Pre-stage comment

We can search for some TOP10 place here,if we do good, but this is mainly etape reserved for sprinters (RB3 and MTN).

Report

At the start of stage, noone of 70 riders wanted to attack, except Korevaar (RB3), who decided to set off alone.

www.dodaj.rs/f/3I/MC/2OP76Zwg/pcm-2013-05-01-11-08-46-.jpg

This is absolutely most boring stage in this year,no fight for any sprints/kom passes so we will skip directly to 7km to go,where group was just behind him.
7km to go: Korevaar is now tired, and group behind him is eating seconds, everything seems like it is going to finish in mass sprint.

www.dodaj.rs/f/14/Gy/Tw0282g/pcm-2013-05-01-11-11-43-.jpg

Sprint is launched, our main hope for today,Rogina, didn't have good place and lost much energy to get it again,so he couldn't sprint better than solid. Van der Lijke, from Rabobank Development Team, got this.
