People are quick to jump to conclusions about racism now-a-days, and I honestly believe Toni Calderon. |

it's not just that. in england you make fun of someone for being bald it's okay, but if it's for being black, woah stop, that's racial discrimination.
over here, it's exactly the same as if he'd poked fun at hamilton's huge ears. all light-hearted.
Here's a simpler way: watch the South Park, season 4, episode 1 "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime". It's a gross exaggeration (as is usual in South Park), but you get the picture: Two 8 year olds get into a fight. perfectly normal. But because one is white and the other black, suddenly it's dubbed a Racial Hate Crime.
(I can't believe I just used South Park to illustrate a point )

I tend to agree with you - I'm just echoing what everyone else thinks.
We seem to think given our nation's history of racism, we can make up for it by being incredibly quick to point out other countries now

Bold prediction: Mark Webber will continually be the fastest in qualifying. however will complete very few races this season. My tip - Red Bull Racing , 10 points |

Well, we're done with the first Grand Prix. More exciting than most GP I've seen for a while. Though it's quite early to draw conclusions.
Removing traction control definitely makes races more interesting, and mistakes more frequent.
Nice win by Hamilton, although he never really had any competition today. |

After what we saw today, we can't say F1's boring. Total domination by Lew. I hoped he'd find some contest with Massa and his teammate, but that didn't happen. Fernando was able to hold on, and that's already nice. |

There was action for all positions except number 1. Unless the Ferraris can do better or other teams can up their game, this season could be easy for McLaren.
Button didnt last long

This was a very exciting race, yeah. I really enjoyed it, and as a McLaren-fan it was a joy to see Ferrari "die out" like that |

I am also McLaren fan...(starting when Senna and Prost was in that team). But now has Kimi riding in Ferrari..they get 10 extra points. |

Great race, Alonso drove really well to get up to 4th, but Hamilton was always going to win really with Kubica, Kovaleinen and Massa behind him at the start.

Well, I finally saw the race. remember last year when I kept saying how you'd better beware of Nakajima who is a real assassin behind the wheel?
Well, he did his usual bit...he hit 3 different guys during the race, including once while driving slowly behind the safety car!
Not as awful as last year though in GP2 when he hit another car from behind in the middle (literally) of a straight after the race had ended
Anyway, thoughts from the race? only one: the Ferrari is clearly the faster car. The next few races should be interesting.
Oh yes, aslo, Traction control ups the number of overtaking moves substantially. even at a track like this where overtaking is so insanely hard. It'll be much better sunday at Sepang

The absence of traction control and other driver aids has improved the excitement a lot
also, Todt has just quit his job at Ferrari

Wait for next weekend at a track where overtaking isn' almost impossible. And the one after that at a track where overtaking is almost easy

The night race in Singapore will definately be interesting as well. I'm trying to imagine all the chaos that happened on Sunday, but racing in the dark
It was also great to see Alonso strugling in his Renault on Sunday
again I forgot to say, Toro Rosso are up for sale as they aren't allowed Red Bull cars after 2010, i think. They definately suprised me in Melbourne, looking suprisingly strong, whereas Force India...well

I just love seeing Sato going like a rocket into the first corner. I imagine him screamin Banzai every time he's trying to pass someone.

Yeah, he looked like some sort of kamikaze pilot - in a race car. |

clearly you are yet to see nakajima in full flight
I'm being 100% honest here when I say that F1 will now go through the same that GP2 was going through: meaning no matter how big the leader's advantage is, it's never certain he'll win just because Nakajima is out there on the track

Just small news for any British viewers
The BBC has secured the television rights to show Formula One in the UK from the 2009 season.
The five-year deal for an undisclosed fee marks F1's return to BBC screens 12 years after it switched to ITV.
The contract covers all platforms and will see F1 broadcast on the BBC Sport website, as well as on TV and radio.
