Ian , its indeed nice . Smile Having our stars Cavendish and Tony Martin with us until 2015 its very nice . Keeping our key riders is essential Wink

Thanks Sutty for the support .

Thanks for following Selwink . Indeed a good question : Serry and Van Keirsbulck decied to wait until July to decide for what team to sign for , lets hope it will Omega Pharma Wink

MrUfo87 its indeed surprising but keep in mind that Blanco won STDU in real life , so lets say that Cyanide has an excuse Smile

Thank you krisa!

The team doing very well. Keep it up

Fenn is on fire, smart move getting him to a new contract. Nice job tying up Cavendish too.

Team looks to be going well. Classics times soon approaching!

OK , Its time for Etoile de Besseges - 6 stages including 1 ITT in the last stage . We come here with decent hopes for GC , despite the big names Kittel , Degenkolb , Cancellara , Hushovd that start their season here .

Line-up

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0002_zpse6b80e85.jpg

As you can see its the exact same line-up that we used in GP Marseillaise , so lets hope that our guys keep winning on French ground . Our leader for GC will be Stybar and lets hope he will not have the bad luck from STDU .

Stage 1

A short flat stage that will probably end up in a mass sprint . Lets hope can Fenn can continue to have good results .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0001_zps3bfda31d.jpg

The BOTD was formed including G.Van Avermaet , Turgot , Muravyev , Lemoine and Rossetto . Not very big chances for them to fool the peloton .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0003_zps4cf71569.jpg

With less than 15 kms to go FDJ was working hard at the front to place the French champion Bouhanni in a good position . But Omega Pharma-QuickStep and Argos had a lot of riders in the front of the peloton too .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0004_zps985243cb.jpg

Excellent job by Keisse who put us in a very good position , right in front , with 6 kilometers to go . It was up to Stybar now .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0005_zps22f40b59.jpg

In the last 2 kilometers unfortunately Meersamn lost some of the speed and Fenn had a hard job to do if he wanted to fight for a Top 5 place . Degenkolb , Bouhanni and Ventoso were all well placed , ahead of us .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0006_zps3ad5377e.jpg

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0007_zps00e1900b.jpg

And Bouhanni wins for a small margin ahead of Ventoso . Fenn was rather dissapointed with only a 10 th place .

Bouhanni taked the Leader's Jersey , Points and Young Riders Jerseys.
Edited by alex valceanu on 20-03-2013 21:25

BikeRoel
well your lead out wasn't the best but there are more stages to fix the gap to Bouhanni Smile

alex valceanu
Stage 2

A more difficult and interesting stage , with a downhill finish after a small hill with a max slope of 5% .This will cause some problems to some sprinters .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0008_zps9f2ab802.jpg

A 4-man break-away was formed , including Rathe , Ponzi , Urtasun and Lappelle .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0011_zps1c2e2dff.jpg

Pineau attacked at the last meters of the climb to get some of the remaining KOM points .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0010_zps1b1ee35a.jpg

And he did it again , 4 points in total .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0012_zps75b0a33e.jpg

Then a BIG move by Stybar who attacked with 10 kilometers to go , just when Rathe was the last man from break-away to get caught . He used his good puncher - downhiller skills and had a lead of 25 " . But with 1 kilometer to go the peloton was really close .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0013_zps533d8108.jpg

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0014_zps04623afa.jpg

WHAT was that ??? Stupid-placed finishing line , on a downhill portion , right after a curve . After 100 meters from crossing the finish line he realised that he won . Crazy stage and amazing win !

How on Earth does Ventoso end up with leaders jersey?

Nice win though. I love this tour actually, its one of my favourites to play. I remember being totally baffled at the finish too the first time. Now I utterly exploit it XD

Thank you fcancellara and sutty68 Smile

Thanks Ian , I m glad you like it Wink Lets hope he will take revenge here after a disappointing STDU .

Flair , Ventoso had a 2nd and 3rd place , so that means -20 sec from bonifications , just like Bouhanni and Stybar . But I guess that 2 podiums > 1 win .

Tour of Qatar will start soon , where we will see Tony Martin and Mark Cavendish . But I would like to finish the reports from Etoile de Besseges and then post Tor of Qatar , hope its ok with you ! Smile

Stage 3

Another flat stage , but the last kilometer has a slope of 2.5 % , this might cause some problems to a few sprinters .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0016_zps0663d30b.jpg

At the end of the first climb Jerome Pineau attacked and got a 4th place .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0017_zps595e195f.jpg

And he kept on attacking , catching the other 3 guys who were in front of him . Well done for getting in the break-away , this way he can fight for KOM Jersey .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0018_zps16a7bd51.jpg

At the second pass over the hill he was the strongest , beating Rasch , Bideau and Barbe .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0019_zps1eb459dc.jpg

And at the third and last pass over the hill Pineau was again the strongest and tomorrow he will wear KOM Jersey .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0020_zps05cdcf44.jpg

Meanwhile the break-away was caught . At the fron of the pack there were 2 trains : Omega Pharma-QuickStep for Stybar and FDJ for Bouhanni , who was in yellow . The Leader , Ventoso , and the number 1 favourite for today , Degenkolb , were also there .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0021_zps088ed014.jpg

With 1.5 kilometers Wesley Kreder launched his sprint . He was first . Meanwhile , Stybar was staying behind Fenn and Soupe was lauching Bouhanni . No sign of Ventoso or Degnkolb , this might be our chance .

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0022_zps72180f33.jpg

And with an amazing sprint in the last 500 meters it was Degenkolb getting the win , coming from nowhere ! With 200 meters we were 5th , behing Urtasun , Badgonas and Bouhanni . Can we get a podium ?

i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p495/usuperstar/PCM0023_zpse00f5cb1.jpg

Yes ! Well done Zdenek , 3rd place . That is very good for us !

The 4 points that we won in stage 2 seem to be decisive for KOM Standings . We were very inspired to attack with Pineau .

Guys I am really sorry but my week-end was so busy that I could not even upload the screenshots from the game . I finished racing Etoile de Besseges and hope that in 1-2 days I will post the remaining stages and move to Tour of Qatar . The fact that I am 2nd now in Pcm Daily Fantasy Classics gives me even more motivation . See u soon ! Wink
