I don't think he'll be the only one wanting a deal for Ulissi
You sure he's leaving your team for definite ? He might have some great surprsing results yet, never loose hope.
It's not because of this result I'm selling him. A GC top 10 was always the very best I could hope for here, and well I can live with him flopping one or two races in the season. He isn't the best puncheur for races like this.
I'm selling him because I decided to try other things, such as making the team french, and obviously because I don't see much point in having a very expensive hilly rider when the game AI seems to favour suptop riders equally well.
So Ulissi will definately be for sale at the end of the season. Obviously he isn't going just to get rid of him, but if I can get a decent backup for him, and someone would be willing to do a nice trade/buy then he's definately up for grabs.

If you want to make your team French, why the keeping of him through the transfer season?

My pure climbers don't perform well in the race, but neither do the pure puncheurs of others. Seems like a pretty tricky race.
Didn't expect much from this race, but i would have like to have some more people in the break. Pardilla did very well today, but the other days were pretty lackluster for the team.

Definitely not a race for the "pure" puncheurs, with Boasson Hagen and Bakelants struggling to make an impact, while great climbers like Rujano and Van Den Broeck are incredibly strong on the toughest stages.
Happy Boasson Hagen managed to get the better of Roelandts and climb a spot in the GC. 6th is the best possible outcome as it looks now though, and I'm only hoping he can hold on.
Great report again, Smowz!
And congrats to SN. Schleck definitely still has it.

Really solid ride by Nepomnyachsniy here. Too bad that he lost a lot of time in previous stages..

RIDICULOUS
Actually even beyond that...I mean distancing Hagen, Bakelandts, Schumacher, and finishing ahead of Trofimov in a straight uphill sprint... in a stage that shouldn't favour the MO stat enough to justify that, this result is simply incredible.
VDB leading the points classification with so many strong puncheur/sprinter-combining riders competing here says it all.

It's a tough cocktail really, especially in the Basque country. Hilly stages are either not decisive or too much in favour of mountain stats. Rest assured it would have been worse if we'd have kept the Eibar stage in. Rujano and Van den Broeck would have been highly placed there too.
I do think Van Den Broeck's high GC place is somewhat inspiring him (and likewise Keinath) to do better than he usually would.
I am really shocked how poorly Bakelants is doing, he never seems to make the right position. He was ding dong with Schleck - Trofimov last year in these sorts of things. With the exception of the odd stage in Tirreno he has been very ordinary looking.

Long may Schleck continue to be at the front of attacks! Nice to get a stage win out of the race, and a GC podium looking good ... until he crashes again.

That stage was the worst with a rating of 0.45. Hill was still the most important stat. But yes, 0.45 is too high - but its so tough to find a stage in PCM12 that is hard enough to make gaps, and not be favoured to the mountain stat by the stupid automatic system.

Love to see Matthias Frank and Albasini being more active than Schumacher
What an odd race, this AI is no good, but I guess its great news for the climbers with low hill stats in GT's.

Sorry guys for the lack of mini's eyes just rolling shut!
This stage had a better hill mountain ratio but as you can see a lack of gaps.

Even though the victory is not secured yet, the podium is which means that Project 1t4i have achieved their first goal of the season

That Pro Tour win is really hard to get, but what a try from Nordhaug! Really can't ask for more, and he was incredibly close. Well done!
Boasson Hagen also looked strong, but either he mistimed his sprint or he was simply not strong enough. Will be an interesting battle with Bakelants for 6th in the overall standings.
Thanks for another nice report, Smowz.
And Gesink should win this, as he won't crash in the time trial |

Nothing spectacular for us this stage, good to finally see a breakaway appearance, though it was a bit risky to do so with VDB's best helper.
5th place should be secured now (YAY!), now it's about daily form who of the two most surprising riders will be 4th.
