No offense to anyone but I think everyone's rating Gesink too highly for this Paris - Nice... I think the profile isn't mountainous enough for him. |

Pff, Montagne de Lure should be enough:

Gigantic differences. Granted, there was Contador causing the biggest difference.
But still, the mountain provides ample opportunity for Gesink to create a difference.
The difference between the groups on that finish were pretty large in 2009 too

Well... Let's hope so, but things might slip together. Though looking at that link, there may be giant time gaps. Gesink will probably lose a minute falling elsewhere, though, it might be an exciting Paris - Nice |

Gesink is a good time trialist, he could pick some time on riders like Quintana there. I estimate him highest due to a good shape in Mallorca and his great climbing (shame he fell in the tour last 2 years)

This isn't a course for TT riders though, with only Col d'Eze making any real difference. Given that that is mountainous, there is only so much difference that the usual TT talents will make.

So far Bozic leads the prologue ahead of Bonnet and Tjallingi.
As expected, the route doesn't really favour sheer TT specialists. |

Wilco Kelderman takes over the lead, with 3'39.
The time will be beaten a few times before the end, I fear

Quintana only 10 seconds to Wilke. Good time by Nairo.

He's still best young rider, though. |
