In rain, I'd say that Sweden is better |

after Euro 2008, Scolari and Ricardo are gone, so we will be that much better against Sweden and Denmark

Yeah, it seems so
So after having a closer look, better then I expected. The attackers are not good, so as long as we can control there midfield ( Linderoth can't be injured ) we should have a decent chance |

Goalkeeper - somebody help us
Right Fullback - take your pick. two very good, one world class
Left Fullback - if Caneira plays, crap. hopefully one of the right fullbacks plays here
Two Center-Backs - Best in the world. no question. and this coming from someone who tends to understate his national team.
Defensive Midfielder - if Petit plays, meh. average. if young Veloso gets the place (which seems likely), we'll have a great shot at the title.
Central Midfielder - Maniche when on form is our best player by quite a margin. hopefully he'll be on form then.
Attacking Midfielder - Deco is inconsistent, but offensively only about 15 players in the world have his offensive ability. none of those have the ability to be a great defensive player. which is what makes him unique and in the words of Barça's Laporta, Rijkaard and several players: "the best player in the world" (not that he is. they just want to make the point that he's heavily underestimated by the masses)
Wingers - if they're on form, god help you
Striker (singular) - crap

I really don't care about Sweden and Denmark. I'm more worried about Malta, Albania and maybe Hungary cause Portugal has a history of underperforming against weaker teams...

haha, well we are not good at crosses
our team:
Goalkeeper: Isaksson
Very good if he is in form. Can have a bad day though.
Left back: Edman
Only person good at crosses, if he does good you have a big problem
Center backs: Mellberg and Hansson
Mellberg is world class, Hansson is a bit under, but very stable most of the time. Especially in important games.
Right back: Nilsson
here is the weakness, no one good really. Your big chance.
Defensive midfield: Linderoth
Most important in the team, if he has a good day you won't win. Draw maybe, but you won't win the game
Other midfielders: Källström, Ljungberg, Whilhelmsson, Svensson
Form of the day decides really, but all are great players, except maybe Whilhelmsson.
Attackers:
Zlatan, Elmander, Berg, Allbäck
Zlatan is world class and the rest is just below. Allbäck is a great goal scorer, underestimated. Berg is doing great in the dutch league, won the swedish scoring league this year and is a big talent. |

this is the part where the danish make a rundown of their team, criticising every single player
anyway, I'm thinking that whatever the call-up for the Euro is, someone will be out who didn't deserve to. we've got about 8 or 9 midfielders who would walk into most teams, and we can only take 6 or 7

Goalkeeper: Thomas Sørensen
Sucky goalkeeper, is not even playing in his club, so he's out of form every day in the entire year.
Left back: Nicklas Jensen
Costs at least one goal pr. match
... Oh, wait, this is not any fun.

In fact, I'd say our two best players are centre backs -- Agger and Martin Laursen. But that's it. |

I can't complain about our team. I just hope Ballack, Frings and Schneider recover soon.

isso, I don't think Veloso will play if he is out of form like he is now...
For me, Petit is close from world class, an in great form nothing will pass. He's not the leg broker he was anymore...

defensively he's good. not great but good. offensivelly he is horrible.
also, I have a grudge against him since the days he was 20 and played for Gondomar on loan from Boavista (and was in the sixth grade. yes, at 20 ). for one simple reason: he's an idiot. ever seen an interview with him? he seems dumb as a door. he's far dumber than that. I could tell you some stories, but I'd be here forever. (some are funny though )
anyway, he's good defensively, but not great. and Veloso is just as good defensively and excellent ofensivelly.
Veloso is not off form. he's just been getting very little of the ball at Sporting, which is quite stupid from Bento, but then again Bento is hardly a tactical genius. same tactic, same exact plays every single game and just pray that it works. sure it will Paulo...sure it will

That looks like the toughest of the Asian groups for the Aussies but I expect theyll get through.
