Not best pleased with how Trentino turned out. Stage 2 was a great battle with the favourites, and then the final 2 mountain stages were just tedious climbs of ineffective attack after ineffective attack - and then whoever attacked with about a kilometre to the top found the 'secret code' allowing them to actually get a gap. Not much fun to report, those two stages.

AI seems to get even more annoying. Congrats to fenian! This really is Pozzovivo's race. |

Except for the 1st mountain stage, a very dull race. Still, Vrecer finished 13th in the GC, much higher than I expected. Congrats to Vespa for taking the win and SN, still, we such a dull race, great reports. |

Devolder Well that very much made up for the fuck up in stage 2. And it's ridiculously awesome to see Zsolt Der top 10 here with his super 73 MO stat. That and a stage win was more than I expected from this race, so I'm kinda over the moon.
I have to agree with SN though, quite terrible showing by the AI.

I'm quite happy hills and mountains are the least interesting terrain for me this season...

Getting away from this race with over 30 points (if I have counted correctly) is much better than expected given the tough line up here in Italy.
Congrats to Hollister for Kiserlovskis win and thants for the reporting SN! |

Yeah this awesome race was greatly spoiled by this boring AI. The last couple of stages were seriously frustrating.
It's great to see my former rider Pozzovivo prevail with such a strong startlist, and my loanee Rodrigues doing such a good job for Hollister as well. On the other side Abal and Alarcon performances haven't really lived up to their reputation.
On the long run Trentino's main outcome is that Hollister is the most serious promotion candidate by now

Really hope this isn't the way mountains will go in the future, because 9th isn't good enough at all. Good thing I wasn't planning on promotion this year.
Thanks SN, and yeah really dull racing to say the least.

Acceptable result here, but those two last stages was not that exciting racing in. |

Well, that was not the outcome I hoped for.
Osella's second place was pretty awesome, but other than that: meh. Stage races will be painful to watch if they'll all be like this.

Fortunate win, but nice collection of jersey's for Pozzo.
I don't actually mind the attacks going nowhere and been ridden down when it's ridiculously steep - main problem is the complete lack of a selection being made/race splintering on such climbs. |

Thing is, Stage 4 wasnt really that steep at the end. Averaging around 7%.
I have a feeling part of the problem is the too high Sta/Res/Rec stats in the ManGame DB. PCMdaily's DB has them as lower for the best riders, but that wasnt pointed out until pretty much the start of the season, so too late to change anything.

That's a nice point score for us in this race. After stage 2 I was afraid we could score a ridiculously low amount of points, but Devolder's win and incredible Der's top 10 made this a good race for us after all.

It might indeed be part of the problem, but it goes beyond that for sure. It's not like Der, for instance, has high stats in either of those, plus things like this can be experienced with Daily's DB as well. I had a 60 men sprint atop Jabal Al Akhdar in the Tour of Oman, for instance. Cyalogic striking hard again.

Hollister are really proving the surprise package so far this year and seem to be getting the rub of the green with strange AI. As it was a 4 day HC stage race most teams did okay out of it in the end.
Is Alarcon's reign at an end? Too early to say, he didn't do that well at Trentino last year.

I was looking forward to this race, as possible higlight of the season and it was the borefest of the season, despite perfect reporting of SN.
We started with great podium in TTT, continued with action packed stage two and ended with complete joke stages, where 80+ climbers attacked like madmen on 10+%, to being later beaten by 75-78 climbers who attacked few kilometres before finish at less steep gradient.
Popovych fifth in the end is not disaster, but i hoped for podium maybe. Why u Popovych attack at steep gradients with 69 accelaration??? You should diesel power up the climb, not attack!
I fear now the next top field mountain stage races.
Anyway congrats to Vespa, Pozzovivo was clearly cut above the rest in his home country.
