@Jesleyh
Pietropolli is old anyway, so he was never on my list, except near the bottom of the 30+ restricted round It's more the talented U-25 riders that get picked a lot ![Pfft](../images/smiley/pfft.gif)
@TMM
Well I'm targeting one specific French guy.. would be pretty sad if I miss him

Bulgari - Inditex heading south in new draft rounds
Round fifteen was a restricted round, but due to having first pick we didn't have to search long for this huge Italian talent. His name is Stefano Agostini and he is 22 years old. His biggest result to date is third overall in the GiroBio in 2011. We are really happy he signed a three-year contract with our team.
Next up, we have a big talent from France joining our team, Romain Bardet. The 21-year old will join our team on a one-year contract, but we will most likely renew his contract at the end of the season. His biggest achievements to date are a couple of stage wins at the Tour de l'Avenir and Tour de l'Ain, while also securing a 2nd place at the 2011 edition of Liège - Bastogne - Liège Espoirs.
No restrictions in the next two rounds, so we will certainly look for more talents to please our sponsors and fans. |

Continental Tour Calendar Revealed
Today the Calendar for the Continental Tour was revealed. While there are still a few races that could be changed for other races, we updated our calendar on our front page. This will also give us a chance to take a closer look at our goals.
Also, Wildcard application opened, so we will take a look at that soon too.

Just that you know, all of the races you will ride are catagory CT instead of 2.HC, 2.1 etc. They are all the same, although you can maybe call them one day/stage race

Another two Italian talents strengthen our team
In round 17 of the draft we secured the signing of an Italian Champion to our squad. We're talking about Adriano Malori of course. One of the biggest talents on an TT-bike. He will join our team for two years.
In draft round 18, we signed Matteo Pelucchi. He is one of the biggest Italian talents when it comes to sprinting. His biggest win to date is the Clasica de Almeria. He signed a 3-year contract with our team.

Bulgari - Inditex signs four more riders
The first one is a Spanish rider Gorka Izagirre. He is the older brother of Ion, so it would be rude not to sign him. He is not as allround as his brother though, he is more a hilly rider.
The second rider is also a Spanish rider. We noticed him when he won a stage at the Vuelta a Burgos in 2011 and we are happy to have Mikel Landa on our team.
In the 21st round of the draft, we managed to get another huge Italian talent. Although we were aiming for Puccio, we are very pleased with Daniele Ratto. He will be an amazing help in the hilly races this year.
The fourth rider we signed is the biggest talent in San Marino. Silvio Penarossa is great at time-trials. He agreed on a two-year contract, but we will renew his contract if he makes gets good results. |

Our first signing of the day is 24-year old Rafael Valls. He will be joining our team on an one-year contract. He is at his best when he is riding in the mountains.
Our second signing today is 22-year old Nelson Oliveira. He has signed a two-year contract with our team. Oliveira is one of the best Time-Trialist of Portugal and he is the current Portugese TT Champion.
Our third signing is 22-year old Davide Cimolai. He is one of Italy's biggest sprinting talents and he will be one of the main helpers of Petacchi, Favilli and Pelucchi. Davide signed a three-year contract. |

UCPCL Draft comes to an end
After 28 rounds and a bit of negotiating with riders from other teams the UCPLC Draft has reached it end. We've had some cheers and some tears when great riders joined our team and when great talents declined our offer and signed at other teams. Lets do a fast recap of our final signings.
In round 25, we signed Arkaitz Durán. He is a mountain / hilly rider and has a decent amount of TT-skills.
In round 26, we signed Sonny Colbrelli. At only 21-years old, he will be a nice addition to our talented squad. He is a sprinter for flat roads, but in the future he might develop in the hilly area as well.
In round 27, we signed Enrique Sanz. At only 22-years old, he is one of Spain's future sprinters. He signed a three year contract, so he has time to develop with our team.
In the last round of the draft, we signed Ricardo GarcÃa. He will fit nicely in our team as a 23 year old. He signed for one year to prove he deserves a longer contract.
After the draft rounds we got the opportunity to sign a rider from another team. It took us only a few minutes to find the rider we wanted, as he was a big target in round 8 of the draft, but we lost out on him. But now we can announce his transfer anyway, because we managed to get Jonathan Castroviejo from Magners Pro Cycling.
Also, we managed to protect our leaders from getting lured away and no-one else seemed of any interest to other teams, so LIFE IS GOOD.

![](../images//flags/SM.png) SILVIO PENAROSSA HQ
Introduction
Hello world of cycling fans! I'm Silvio Penarossa and I recently joined Italian cycling team Bulgari-Inditex. You probably haven't heard of me before, so let me tell a bit about myself:
I'm Silvio Penarossa, and I'm born in Chiesanuova, San Marino. Chiesanuova is a little town in San Marino with one football club, SS Pennarrossa. My father had the same last name as the football club. However, he made a small mistake when he was doing my birth papers. So I had to live with only one n instead of two. At the age of 5 i got my first bike, and I loved it. I loved cycling. I went to join the only cycling club in San Marino and they noticed I was talented. Possibly the best cyclist from San Marino ever. I won every race in San Marino. I was very good in time-trials, they were my speciality. But I also won sprints etc.
At the age of 21, some professional cycling teams saw me at the San Marino National Championships (with 5 participants), and they were so impressed about me, they had to fight for me. But in the end, I decided to join Bulgari-Intidex, because they made the best offer of all.
This is me, Silvio Penarossa, don't forget that name!!

After receiving our Wildcards and completing our season planning, we have updated some of our goals.
The Tour de San Luis, which sadly isn't on the calendar, will be replaced by the Int. Österreich-Rundfahrt, where we will aim for a podium place in the GC.
We also added a race in Spain, where we will try to get a Top 10 place in the GC of the Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco.

Team review
With our squad complete, we found some time to review our roster.
Our full squad counts 26 riders and our sponsors demanded that 25% of those are of a Spanish nationality and another 25% of an Italian nationality.
We got 10 riders from Spain and 10 riders from Italy, which means that both nationalities are represented in 38,46% of our team and a total of 76,92%. The sponsors will surely be happy about that. The other riders are from the BeNeLux (T. Slagter, J. Vermote and B. Jungels), France (R. Bardet), Portugal (N. Oliveira) and San Marino (S. Penarossa).
Our sponsors also wanted us to focus on a young squad to ensure the team's future. We will split our team in 2 categories for this part.
1. Age 26 and above
2. Age 25 and under
1. This category is the experienced part of the team. They got years of cycling knowledge and are vital to the development of our younger riders.
We got 4 riders that fit into this category. These are A. Petacchi (37), D. Cunego (30), E. MartÃnez (33) and G. César Veloso (31). The only ones declining soon are Petacchi and MartÃnez, which is why they are on a one-year contract. The average age of this category is 32,75 years.
2. This category marks the talented part of the team. Our sponsors will be delighted that 22 of our riders fit into this category. With the age of 25, A. Durán is the oldest of this group, while with an age of only 19 years old, B. Jungels is the youngest of our team. The average age of this category is 22,18 years.
The average age of our full squad is 23,8 years. This is in line with the aim of our sponsors and will gives us a great prospect for the future.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now lets take a look at the attributes of our squad. Our best overall rider is D. Cunego with an average of 77 and our worst overall rider is S. Penarossa with an average of 63. Our team's average is 72.
Below is an overview of the team's average in every attribute.
It is pretty clear that our team has no talent at all on the Cobblestones. All other attributes are pretty close to each other.
Staff
Recently we hired a new trainer to help our riders progress. His name is Shawn Spencer. He will teach our riders how to read opponents / situations and train them mentally to get us the best performances from the riders. |

That average age is awesome! ![Shock](../images/smiley/shock.gif)
I thought I was good with my 27. Then again, having many young riders gives you a disadvantage in the offseason progress.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Volta ao Algarve
Startlist:
M. Moser
E. Favilli
D. Ratto
I. Izagirre
R. Valls
N. Oliveira
B. Jungels
R. Bardet
The starting team in Portugal consists of only youngsters as this race isn't a priority for the team.
Stage 1:
![i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage1_zps4664261b.jpg](https://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage1_zps4664261b.jpg)
![i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/UCPCL/Algarve-Race31_zps277eabf4.jpg](https://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/UCPCL/Algarve-Race31_zps277eabf4.jpg)
Today was the first race of the season and we are off on a flying start with a 2nd place for Romain Bardet, gaining the overall lead in the youth classification. He went for the breakaway and they managed to stay ahead of the peloton at almost 4 minutes. In the peloton sprint Elia Favilli sprinted to the 16th place, 3rd of the peloton. Our other riders finished inside the peloton.
Stage 2:
![i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage2_zpsce6aabdb.jpg](https://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage2_zpsce6aabdb.jpg)
At the start of the 2nd stage, R. Bardet was proud to wear the young rider jersey. The break was once again victorious, but this time we did not have a rider in there. It was not a good day for the team, with E. Favilli as the team's best rider in 17th position. R. Bardet keeps the young rider jersey for another stage.
Stage 3:
![i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage3_zps2eac6d23.jpg](https://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage3_zps2eac6d23.jpg)
R. Bardet starts the 3rd stage with the young rider jersey. Again, a large break made it to the end, where Ted Mosby crushed his opponents and created a big gap. Our team failed again today, but R. Bardet remains the leader of the young rider classification. He drops to the 4th place on the GC.
Stage 4:
![i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage4_zpse1bd12ab.jpg](https://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage4_zpse1bd12ab.jpg)
![i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/UCPCL/Algarve-422_zps7c1d8683.jpg](https://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/UCPCL/Algarve-422_zps7c1d8683.jpg)
Stage 4 still sees R. Bardet in the young rider jersey. Guess what? Another break made it to the finish line. This time B. Jungels was there for us. In a 12-man sprint he finished 3rd. Another podium place for the team. In the peloton sprint we finished 13th (M. Moser), 14th (I. Izagirre) and 17th (E. Favilli). R. Bardet holds on to the young rider jersey.
Stage 5:
![i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage5_zpsfe7bc6f8.jpg](https://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag59/CEriksie/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/VoltaaoAlgarvestage5_zpsfe7bc6f8.jpg)

A 19km long TT, to complete the race in Portugal. All eyes where on R. Bardet to keep the lead in the young rider classification and 4th on the GC. He finished in 27'40, which was just enough to win the young rider classification and remain 4th in the GC. Furthermore, M. Moser showed his quality and finished 10th on the stage. A great day for the team
Rider of the race:
R. Bardet
