CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS
THE STATISTICS OF TULIP - GUINNESS
In general the draft worked out very well for us. We missed out on a few great riders we would have liked on the team, but we got a good bunch of the most important riders from our native countries as well as a true GT-leader.
In the 28 ordinary rounds we got
Our 1st pick 19 times
Our 2nd pick 6 times
Our 3rd pick 1 time
Our 4th pick 2 times
When forming the team we wanted a team with the beat years ahead of it and a few experienced support rides. It turned out with an average age of 27 years.
Out of 31 riders 8 are 30 or older with Davide Rebellin (40) being the oldest one. Our two oldest riders Pinotti and Rebellin both have 1 year contracts that most likely won't get extended. Apart from those Hushovd and Verdugo are the only riders older than 34 at the end of their current contract.
12 riders are 25 years or younger, 8 of them U23-riders.
The youngest rider is Peter Neilly, who is 19 years old and Alexander Kristoff is the best U25 rider on the team.
So in general I think we have a good mix of ages. Lots of talented youngsters and captains under 28 for all terrains.
We wanted an international team with at least 50 % riders from our three main countries as well as captains from each of these. All targets achieved as we have riders from 13 countries distributed as
As we have 6 national champions, a bunch of former NC's and a former World Champion we have had a number of special jerseys created:
Our goal was to form a team capable of performing well in all kinds of terrain, so lets see how that worked out.
If we calculate the average skill of all our riders we get a 27 year old allrounder with all skill except cobble within 3 pts of each other. He's not that good a cobbler, but that's OK since we have a couple of good captains for those races.

New accessories have arrived!
Our riders started complaining that they got cold while out on the bike, so we had to order them some arm- and leg-warmers.
The company made us a very nice offer on some other custom equipment, so we decided to go all in. Now it is finally here:
Racing in January
In January we will only be racing in Tour Down Under.
We have already selected the team and they have been training together for some time now to be ready for the race.
Competition
There has been a lot of competitions going around lately. We have stayed away from contests in the "Visitor number XX"-category.
But now we join in the competition race with a contest that require a bit more than showing up...
We took a picture of the Tour Down Under team on a training run the other day.
First to correctly name at least six of the seven riders will get to choose between three prizes representing our three home countries.
Answers are to be posted in the HQ. The management will tell how many correct answers are in each post and the contest will continue until all seven rides have been named - either by you or when The Tour Down Under starts.
Rider of the month
Each month we will name a Rider of the Month based on the performance of the riders. Even though we haven't had a single race day yet we are ready to announce the first rider of the month:
Thor Hushovd: Thor gets the award for being so enthusiastic about our project, that he convinced his team Pure Black - Genesys to let him change to our team on the very last day of the transfer window.

Thanks sutty and Jesleyh. I'm pretty content with my first attempt at jersey/accessories as well.
BTW: The rider in the back of the group (without a NC-jersey) is a former Danish Champion (the sleeves are blurred in the jgp )
Hope to get a few submissions in the contest - four of the riders should be easy

What the hell I'll up the prize: First pick of prizes to the rider who first guesses 6 out of the seven riders (it'd not as hard as it sounds if you look at the picture and red my posts) or the user with most correct riders when TMM ask for the startlists.
Second pick to the user, who makes 7 correct.
I will throw in a few clues once in a while, you are allowed as many guesses as you want but no answers within 2 hours of each other unless I have given a clue or another user has submitted an answer (which I have responded to).
To sum up the picture we have 4 NC's, one former Danish Champion and two, who haver never been champions...

Aaaand we have a winner!
Marco, SSJ2Luigi and Ollfardh all have five correct riders but Jesleyh is first to six.
You can choose between three prized labelled Denmark, Ireland and Norway.
Who is first to get all seven?
Spoiler Jesleyh can't participate in the last round
