Yeah, kinda figured that out. Although I seriously hope that:
Average Could mean up to as far away as 80k, but could also mean much closer than that
Actually means that if I raise my offer by 80K then I'm sure to get the rider. Otherwise I would have played my cards very differently in the process.
That's how I played my contract offers too. Though I feel like 4 rounds would always be nicer...
If it makes anyone else feel any better, it was nice to see SN squirm when doing Vesuvio renewals. He may know the system better than most, but that still doesn't mean he gets it any more right than the rest of us!

I had hoped we would see big names not sign new contract, any big names not signing I've missed?

Rujano, Holloway and Mohs, if they can be considered as big names, eventually renewed their contracts in Round 3, luckily

Tony Martin became a big name by not being renewed

I somehow avoided round 3. Vantomme, Boom both went in round 1.
Round 2 was mainly for some shit riders, who think they deserve a good contract because winning one race out of a breakaway. |

Another tactic than me then, only riders that signed in round 1 for me was the ones accepting minimum wage Then it was just about trying to get the others as low as possible in round 2, then panic in round 3 and give everyone what the demanded (except Marzano, and I paniced again when I sent in becuse of him... Luckily he signed)
I think many will be after Tony Martin now, Germany should finally be able to challenge Netherlands for the TTT-gold (Fiedler, Schädlich, Kittel, Martin, Fothen... Then in a few years time also Sütterlin)

I did the same Heine... I signed only 50K riders in the first round, and then I fluked with one of my riders, where I offered him less than half of what he asked, but he still accepted. So with him, I should have offered less, but I can't know how much I got off. I reckon it can't be too bad, and even with his current wage he should be decent, or fairly easy to sell.

I'm only a round in, and all but one rider accepted my first offer. I guess I played it too safe
Also left a 0 in the offer for a rider I wanted to re-sign. Such a stupid mistake for me to make.

I have the feeling the renewals went very well for me, I feel it was the best I've ever done after being very generous before in my opinion.

I luckily had my remaining 3 riders down to "close", so I just played safe and offered them 20k more.
First round was all about starting very low, with only 50k riders signed (plus Croket).
Second round was all about securing Bennati, Kelderman and Vogt with rather safe offers, and it worked like a charm.
Only 3 riders have a higher wage than before, and that's only 40k, 10k, 5k.

I accidentally had all but one of my riders signed in round 1. My last rider was signed in round 2. The biggest disappointment was knowing that I could have pushed Pozzato even further. Here is roughly how it happened:
"Ima lowball that bastard with this offer ********."
Opens up round one results
Filippo Pozzato | ********* | Accepted
"Awwww fuck you, you cheap bastard!"

I also overestimated what some of my larger waged riders would accept, although I think they all still took paycuts from last season which is nice, but since they all accepted Round 1, it would have been nice to try and get them at an even lower wage by being a bit riskier.

I found the limits of all my riders pretty nicely, except for Ricco, who i could have pressed more. Didn't really want to risk anything though, but he already accepted in the first round.

One manager has yet to return his Round 1 file, so lets hope he doesnt look in this thread for clues before doing so
I do find it interesting though how people seem to think they know what Tony Martin's new stats will be...

I doubt you'll create a right away challenger for Phinney, Coppel and Zabriskie, but he could make a nice PCT rider if he gets more than, let's say, +4 on MO, HIL and TT...

That would be the worst personal revenge for putting him on the FA list

My negotiations went pretty well I think. Managed to cut a big big chunk out of the initial "budget", and all important riders have been resigned without too much of a problem.
