Jesleyh
Wow, First and second!
Nice top 10 finish for Bart Wink
Oh btw, are you going to race the TTT in 3D? I think you will lose some time if you do that, because the short TTT's are really bad at PCM...

PCMdaily Awards: 12x nomination, 9x runner-up, 0x win.

the_hoyle: Thanks a lot!

Jesleyh: I've thought about it, and I'll most likely just start the race in 3D for a screenshot, but then quit and quick-sim it, because of the PCM TTT bug Smile

What a Great start in Qatar with four in the top ten Wink

And nice to see Bart grabbing a top ten spot as well Wink

Thanks, sutty Smile

Tour of Qatar - Stage 2

Today was a Team Time Trial. Normally that's really our cup of tea, but we've got some boys, including myself, whose shape is not good enough yet. So today we rode to keep Tom's leader's jersey.

Here's a picture with me leading. It's an amazing experience to ride with the World Champion Time Trial.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/PCM0001-3.jpg

We failed in our objective today by finishing fifth, but Tom is only 1 second from the leader so with a couple of more sprints, everything is still possible. Here's today's result:

I gave full gas in the beginning, but unfortunately I couldn't keep up at the end. I'm not ashamed of this, but it's always a downer to be the first to drop, especially when you're the only one to drop in a (short) team time trial. But I did my best, it's only my second race of the year, after all.

Our team result:

Pure class. Martin putting the hammer down and Tom finishing it with ease. Great job!

Good to see you back in another story. Good luck for both of them. Smile

A decent TTT, mainly thanks to Tony Wink
Let's hope Tom will be able to win some more stages and possibly the GC in Qatar Smile

Mr. S (Wink): Thanks! With cannons as Martin and Boonen, not much can go wrong Wink

FreitasPCM: Thanks a lot!

juszta: Tony certainly did his part in the TTT, as reigning World Champion. Thanks Smile

I've written some reports over the days but our internet connections were severed in the landscape of Qatar. Now that I'm back in Belgium, I can finally post them for you to read.

Tour of Qatar - Stage 3

Qatar, so flat. That's all there is to it.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/qatar01.jpg

Today, Niki Terpstra felt good and was part of the lead-out train for Boonen. He picked up the remaining breakaway riders.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/qatar02.jpg

Again it was my job to lead out the three sprinters and today I felt I did an excellent job.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/qatar03.jpg

It's always great when hard work pays off and Tom rewarded us with another stunning win.

Tour of Qatar - Stage 4

Today we expected a mass sprint. But we made a grave calculation mistake and lost Tom's jersey.

Unfortunately, Tom couldn't deliver. I was partially to blame, as our lead-out train got boxed away by Liquigas' train, whose Peter Sagan missed absolute speed:

The final stage, and our final chance for a stage win. The points jersey is as good as ours, but Tom has a lust for victory.

The profile was a criterium of 106km, and as flat as all the other stages. We found our lead-out train back from the first stages, the result:

Well, there you have it. My first race as Tom's lieutenant, I think I did pretty good. I finished 46th on the General Classification, which isn't bad. I think Jantje has one more race and then we'll finally ride in a race together for the first time: The Omloop.
