That is a very clear team structure, but transfer season is a mess for those with a clear conception, so watch out not to pay more than necessary just to match that
If your interest in loans returns, feel free to contact us
I will make sure I do, as I explained to SotD. Sorry for the double post. |

Interesting. I do hope you will take that loan thingy into consideration again though - It could benefit your team in the long run also, when you get XP 3 riders, whom are better of in the PT.
Some PT teams will need you to help with XP Level 1 rider, so opening up for loaning 3-4 riders could be a good start. I'm hoping that I get a couple of french talents, and those guys needs developping
Those French talents wouldn't include Lecuisinier and Barguil would they? The idea with the free agents is that I'll have money for wildcards and training my Mongolians, but if a loan would benefit the team then I'd be interested.
Could be, but not necessarily. I'm very pendantic when it comes to wages, and thus not very loyal to my nationality. If I can get better talents at a lower cost, simply because they aren't french, then those are more interesting to me...

In a desperate attempt to unsettle Daniel Eliad from his new french-mongolian surroundings, Bjartne told this to "cyclingmagazine.ir" :
It's hardly news any more. We've been circling around Daniel's name for quite a while and there's no doubt he would be a huge addition to our squad.
It remains to be seen if Evian-MIAT are keen to sell the young israelian.

We were not planning to renew Daniel's contract, so we would not try to extract a fee from you. Daniel will be available as a free agent. |

I actually saw your twitter post after I had posted my availability request. I went trough your HQ to find out if others have attracted his interrest, but obviously I missed the most important post. Thought we could try to negotiate a low fee since you dind't have any plans for him. Haha.
Lol, will read more carefully next time |

I could try and haggle 50,000 for him, or I could let him go. And if the haggling fails, I lose 50,000 wage cap space. So he's on his way. |

Reports in the French press today have linked Evian-MIAT with moves for the following currently contracted riders:
Thibaut Pinot (Wikipedia)
Cyril Gautier (Bpost)
Benoit Vaugrenard (Project 1t4i)
Pierre Rolland (Puma)
Morgan Kneisky (Bouygues Telecom)
Jerome Pineau (WWE)
Kenny Elissonde (Wikipedia)
Mattia Cattaneo (Wiggle)
The interest in Elissonde and Cattaneo is believed to be for loan deals mainly, as they know they are unlikely to be sold - ditto Pinot. The other riders mentioned are all targets, but Evian understand that their teams may be reluctant to sell riders who are happy and also they understand that they may not be financially viable.

Welcome to Ulaan Baatar, where the Pro Continental Team Evian – MIAT are about to announce their goals for the upcoming season. Assembled media guests are here, and there is a video link back to Evian-les-Bains for those not wanting to travel to Mongolia. I can understand that – the food isn’t great and I’d kill for a strong Wi-Fi signal - but I want to develop Mongolian cycling and so we must make little sacrifices.
Ok, let’s get underway with our first goal and in our opinion our easiest. As we are a Mongolian team, I think you’ll find it no surprise that we have targeted the only Mongolian race on the calendar. Our first goal is to win the Ulaan Baatar GP! That may seem ambitious, but we want to sign a top class sprinter anyway and this goal will suit them, as will our next one.
The second least difficult goal we have is to finish in the Top 5 at the Eneco Tour, a HC stage race over four days in the Low Countries. Once again, we’ll need a top sprinter but we believe we can easily achieve this. In fact, if I was braver or stupider then I’d be aiming to win this race. But I’m no Waghlon, so I must leave it as it is.
So, our next goal then and it is another HC race goal. This one is a goal to please the sponsors at Evian, and it is to finish in the Top 5 at the three day stage race, the Corsica International. This will require a Climber who won’t lose too much time in the TT, but we believe we can achieve the required result with a Frenchman, although foreign talent will be signed if necessary.
Our penultimate goal then, is to win the Tour of East Java. Similarly to the Eneco Tour this is a stage race for the sprinters, and similar to the Corsica International it is a three day stage race. Winning it will be difficult, and we may fail this goal. But we won’t be far off, and it will definitely be a race that contributes significantly to our final goal.
The final goal is by far the most difficult. We want to, in our first season, win the Asia Tour team standings. It won’t be easy, but we’ll definitely enter all the Asian races and show off both the MIAT and Evian logos around the continent. Most of the races in Asia are flat or hilly, so we’ll look for strength in those areas. With the goals in Ulaan Baatar and East Java we can contribute to this goal, and if we do miss it then we won’t miss it by a lot.
That concludes our goals. I’ll put a list of our goals on screen for those of you that want quick information. You stay classy Ulaan Baatar!
Win Asia Tour Team Standings
Win Ulaan Baatar GP
Win Tour of East Java
Top 5 Corsica International
Top 5 Eneco Tour

Ambitious for sure!
I reckon the most difficult ones will be Asia Tour and Corsica. The others should be achievable.

The Corsica one depends on who I sign, and the strength of the field. Asia Tour will sure be tough, and with your team as well as Bintang and Meiji to name just two who'll be around, it'll be tough. Thanks for the kind words though. |

Youre going to need a great transfers now, all 5 are easily failable if you dont. Youve made a mistake if you think Corsica will have a weak field!

Target Number 1 should get me three of those. Target Number 2 should get me Corsica. Targets Number 1 and 2 consist of five different riders for each. |

Corsica will have a huge field. But as Ruijgh showed last year for me it`s possible to perform above the expectations. You surely need this.
Winning Asia will also be difficult with lots of Australian/Asian teams. |

For the first time, Evian – MIAT manager JPH has come on record to talk about his targets for the upcoming transfer season in relation to his goals. The goals have seen the team move away from their TT focus of last season and instead into uncharted terrain with races in the Mountains and Hills, although there is still a focus on the sprints. Here’s what the man himself had to say when asked about his targets to allow the team to reach their goals.
“Firstly, we need a leader for the Mountainous stage races. I’ve got 5 main targets here, of which I hope to sign two. One of them will lead in the key races for us like the Corsica International, and the other will lead the team in other races, as well as operating as a Super Domestique for the other climber – and yes, he will probably be French. From the free agency, we’re targeting Vincenzo Nibali and Stefan Denifl as our main leader – Nibali is favoured as he can TT much more strongly than Denifl, which could be the difference between a Top 10 and a Top 5 in Corsica. However, if I had to name one target currently signed to a team and who could leave, then Alberto Contador definitely interests us. He won’t be cheap, but he could be a worthwhile investment if we can afford him and Festina will sell, as he would be one of the best climbers in the division and a strong Time Trialist to boot.
As for the Frenchmen, I’d love to sign Thibaut Pinot on loan from Wikipedia if I could. He’d reach his full potential with us, and go back to Wikipedia a much improved rider. He’s not a great time trialist so he’d struggle in Corsica, but he’s not a top climber so he isn’t really the man for that goal anyway. My other French target is John Gadret, who is believed to be leaving Simply Red Bull for nothing. He can’t TT either, but he’s a strong climber and could be a solid point scorer for us.
The other area we need to focus on for our goals is the Sprints. I’m ignoring the Hills for now, as I don’t have a clear set of targets there yet, although I can confirm we’re targeting Jeremy Roy. Danilo Napolitano is someone we aim to sign at all costs, as he’s one of the best sprinters in the world, but failing that we will target Mark Cavendish. Both riders can achieve our goals in Ulaan Baatar, East Java and in the Eneco Tour. Erik Mohs of Pokerstars also interests us, but like with Contador it depends on the price.
Mathieu Drujon is definitely a target to lead and lead out, as is Khayabrkhaa Uugunbayar. Both of these riders can do well at this level, and Uugunbayar would definitely be strengthened by racing in Mongolia so he’s one to watch.”

With so many teams promoting to te ProTour, I highly doubt you'll get the top stage racers you're after. They'll have more money, and more need for them, after all. Contador could be a smart target, providing you have the cash from your high goals.
edit: that said, ambitious plans, and if they come off, you'll be very strong indeed.

I suspect you're planning to have more money than you'll actually get
Even if a rider like Contador is for sale, I suspect he won't leave Festina for anything less than 2 millions. As an example, I got 3,6 millions in total budget as a continental team (PCT this year) last year, and I believe my team was one of the new teams that got most money.
But I like your ambitions, and it will be interesting to see if you can succeed to bring one or two of your targets to your team.
