I'm now confident of winning Ulaan Baatar, but slightly less so about my Asia Tour goal. I think we can beat you though. |

I'm really impressed by your team compared to last season - so much more depth in most types of terrain.

You upgraded you team successfully in the transfer season. As 1st year PCT team it is hard for me to judge where any of us rank, but with the balance and depth you have I have to think you will be above the division's mid-point and should not have to worry at all about relagation.
Looks like our sprinters will clash in a good number of races this season.
Well Done and Good Luck in 2013.

I like it Meiji are going to be competitive.
Zaini is a high quality punchaer, alright the race days for such riders have been curbed but they still offer great value for money in terms of wage to points scoring ratio's. Jianhua Ji has been on quite a journey, I thought he may end up as a deluxe ProTour helper, but much more thrilling for him to be the leader of an Asian PCT team.
There were long periods of pretty ordinary results for the sprinters last year, not sure they have the gas to change that but we'll see.

Well I certainly haven't been very active here, and I've really got no excuse. That said our 2nd year in the Man-Game peloton has proven to be much more successful than our inaugural season. Here are the biggest highlights so far!
We started the season off at the Down Under Classic, where Manan took 4th place for the team! Later at the Tour Down Under Hatanaka finished 8th overall, while Sung Baek Park got a nice result at the Tour of South Africa finishing 2nd on the final stage of the tour.
Now skip to the end of February, where Zaini took 4th at the Gisborne GP, another nice placing for the team, but still searching for that 1st win of the year!
Next we highlight the Tour de Langkawi where Ji finished in an amazing spot 4th overall, after it was all over and done with. He can thank the Genting climb for moving up in the GC.
In the Tour of Taiwan Hossein Nateghi finished 3rd on Stage 2, a great result in the Asia Tour!
The Mt. Fuji TimeTrial! Need I say more? Its probably going to go down as the win of the season! Mt. Fuji means so much to Japan, to have the best Japanese team win on their home climb is something special! Ji took the overall for 1 stage, but lost it the stage after! A 2nd overall is also an amazing performance for the team and vital to survive in the PCT and hopefully help take the Asia Tour title!
Tommy Zaini's win during Stage 2 of the Tour of the Czech Republic! Taking the overall lead in the process! Later that month Murakami took 3rd at the Tour of Kumano!
Now on to the Azerbaijan Tour! On Stage 5, Jianhua Ji made a legendary move taking a massive victory and the overall with it! Stage 6 Ji held on for the win, and Shimizu also took 6th place, making this race a big haul in terms of points for the team, once again being ever so important for the Asian Tour rankings!
--------
And that pretty much concludes the review of the year so far! Its been great, but even better results to finish off the year wouldn't hurt
At the start of June Meiji sit in 18th in the PCT with 1357 points while in the Asian Tour we sit at the very top of the rankings with 874 points to Evian's 760 who sit 2nd!

Thanks Wacko! He's certainly paid for his transfer fee
Anonymous Tour of East Java
In our first race in a while and it really didn't bring any results for the team!
Stage 1 was a very boring day from the teams perspective, with nothing of note happening. Stage 2 saw Nateghi sprint into 8th place on the stage, which was atleast an improvement on the first stage, where our highest finisher was Baek Park who finished 21st. Stage 3 was probably the most exciting stage for the team, because Santambrogio although he only finished 17th on the stage, he managed to finish in the first group on the road, during a stage in which the peloton was split into several groups. Because of this, he moved well up into the GC and took 13th overall.
The overall win went to Allan Davis, who also won the final stage!
Overall, we would have liked for a better result here, but 13th overall is okay I guess, and it wasn't a race we had wanted to good result, but just hoped maybe we would get lucky with a good result!

The fight for the Asia Tour is still on. Going to be close, with you and I out front but Cisco and maybe Hollister could catch up. Good luck, but not too much or you'll beat us. |

Meiji and Cannondale Remain Sponsors for Next Season
With the season closer to the end than the start, most teams have begun announcing their sponsorship changes and their rider plans for the off-season!
Both sponsors were very pleased with the results thus far! Meiji are extremely happy with the results in the Asian Tour, and the fact we are leading Asian Rankings was a huge boost for their exposure and that in itself was enough for them! They've been really happy with the progress the team has made over the past 2 seasons and hope it continue at the same rate.
Cannondale on the other hand were a little more uncertain about renewing, but with the success the team has had at the Tour of America, it soon became clear to them that this was the right move for both parties. They mentioned that they would love to somehow keep Peter Stetina on a full time contract instead of being a loanee, but the team isn't sure how possible that is.
Now on the exciting part, where we will list our roster plans for the upcoming off-season!

Even though he's not from our main region, Kwok is a very interesting rider, providing that you train him as Track-TT and his wage stays low.
If we are going to expand our roster to foreign markets, he's definitely very high on our list.

He might need a team to go out on loan with next year, but of course I'm willing to listen to offers as well. As long as his wage is really low, he's at least being renewed though.

Well, all I can say right now is that we're going to meet often during the transfer season
EDIT: The ones listed as staying, are they definitely staying or possible to lure out of the contract with a very good offer?

Valverde. If I get into the Man Game next season, although I know I will be limited to a small number of good riders I would be very interested in Jack Bauer and will pay quite a bit to get him.

@ Bjartne - Yeah Hopefully not too much, but Im sure we will.
Out of that list, the only ones that would leave if there was a great offer would be Park and Doi. The stars like Ji and Zaini are basically untouchable and of course the weaker riders could leave but I dont see why anyone would overpay to get them when Im sure there will be loads of equal talent available for a much better price
@ LLS - Sounds good. I dont think you'd have to pay "quite a bit" to get him, but he's not going to go for pennies either

Whats his current wage? As my plan is to have a Kiwi based team he would be a huge rider for the team.

If we are going to expand our roster to foreign markets, he's definitely very high on our list.
Well, he is currently topping our shortlist, so expect some chick fight over him.
Hmm, you actually have quite a few riders I am interrested in apart from Kwok. Would be so convenient if Meiji just became 100% italian

He's 165,000 iirc. It should go down though.

Well thats great to hear! The team is never going to lose its Japanese focus however, but if the right price came up Im sure a few riders could be on the move! I've become attached to a few riders though, so you'd really have to pay to take a couple of them off of me

Well, most of the riders who catched my eye is labelled as staying, so I dunno how great you think that sounds. Damn I hate feelings towards riders/footbalers in manager games. I know through FM how strong they could be, and that their total value now is multiplied with 10 in your head |

Well, when the time comes, go ahead and make me an offer I suppose everyone could leave for the right price I think there are a few riders on your team I wouldn't mind having. Lo Cicero if his wage drops is one
