Expectations was high. Contador had done well here previously, and with a good setup for the TTT and a good sprinter to setup in the flat Contador was pushed to stay in front of the race at all time. One stagewin for Contador gave him the overall win of the race, and two stagewins and one runner-up for Guerao gave him the pointsjersey. Overall a fantastic race

Having the reigning champion of the race, and winning it again as a sponsortarget, we were obviously here in the strongest possible lineup, and with hopes of a great result. The race itself bored the crowd - and in the end it was a pretty uncontested fight up the hills. In the final sprint Diego Ulissi showed that he is still capable of performing at top level regardless of how the race is ridden, hence making it 5th.

It was a race that suited Steurs pretty well on paper, but a crash forced him to the ground. In the end the result was horrible.

Another cobbled race, in which Geert Steurs was basically alone all the way. Without the crash from last he was now doing significantly better, this time fairing to 11th in the end.

The flat German race was a nice opportunity to see how well Óscar Guerao could do against the top sprinters in the world. Coming from nowhere we have to be very happy with 7th in a race that was won by Tom Boonen.

It was a mixed chance for our team today. If the race was ridden softly then Óscar Guerao could have potentially survived the stage, and if the stage was ridden in the front, then Geert Steurs should be our captain. The stage ended up in the latter scenario and here Steurs showed immense strength to take 4th.

We came to one of our favorite races, historically, fully content to serve Diego Ulissi a fine result. With Ulissis sprint in mind we decided not to bring any other fast riders, but merely supply him with strong hilly and flat riders to pose a serious working threat for Ulissi to jump through for a overall top 10GC. The race turned into a face with Ulissi not performing at all, the team not getting close to a single top 10 positioning through the 6 races, and a final GC spot of 66th for Ulissi. The worst race of the season clearly

Back to the cobbles, and perhaps the most prestigious of them all, deducting Paris-Roubaix later on. We have a tradition of performing well in this race, and with Steurs we had hopes of another good race. Despite the fact that we wanted a good result, we seemed to carry the PaÃs Vasco form with us, and in the end Steurs ended outside the top 20.

Having just performed below par in the Ronde we were unmotivated to ride the Hell of North, but as always with legendary races like this that motivation turned through racing. Lebris was very active and in the end Steurs did a fine 12th overall in the race.

The hilly season started in Holland and we had to expect better from Ulissi to really be part of the race, and with a bunch of young helpers Diego really had to show himself in this race. He didn't - But in the end 11th is an acceptable "blooper".

Having had to satisfy with a result outside the top 10 in the Amstel Gold Race pressure was on Ulissi to actually move inside the top 10 here, but it seems that the sole leaders role is too much of a task for Ulissi whom did even worse to take 12th in the Fleche Walonne.

The race every rider wants to win came directly after two dissapointing "test-days" in the hills, and expectations was not high when Diego Ulissi pedalled out into the terrain. Remarkably Ulissi decided to find a little bit of extra strength in this major race to finish 6th. A strong result from the young italian.

Moving into our terrain - The short GC races, expectations rocketed to the sky yet again, and with the Romandie, Alberto Contador was set for a top 5 GC place. The race started well with Mathieu Bernaudeau taking 3rd on the prologue, with Rolland not far behind in 11th, and when Contador took 3rd on stage 3 the race was lined up for a nice result overall. 4th in the GC was a very nice result showing that Contador was on his way to a massive Pro Tour season.

The First GT of the season, and Markus Fothen was back for more. Last season was a huge disaster where first Markus Fothen was in a split, then a crash to come back, and finally a crash and withdrawel. Also Diego Ulissi was injured in the race last season. The race was hardly started when Markus Fothen lost 1'30" on most of his competitors, and on the hilly finished stages he also wasn't paying enough attention and lost another significant amount of time. However, in the timetrials he was at the very best of his life, clawing his way back into the race. In the end he was able to climb to 5th by very consistent riding in the mountains. Diego Ulissi and Anthony Lavoine was a major let-down non-the-lessThis was Markus' first race of the season and we can only hope for more of the same in the later part of the season, including the Tour of Germany, Tour of Switzerland and Tour of Colombia.

Contador was back for more - Or so we thought! Last season Alberto was riding his was safely into the podium of the GC, when he crashed in the final km, and withdrew. It was unbareable, and this had to be better... It hardly was. Contador was on his heals the entire race and through very passive riding he dissapointed to take 12th GC behind significantly worse riders. Óscar Guerao was a shadow of himself, and whilst Rolland played it cool for a long period of time - Looking to enter the top 10 GC, he fell way behind in the end to end up 40th.

We took a brief trip into the world of one-day races with the Strade Appia Antica, between the Giro and the Vuelta, and as always Geert Steurs was the man to put our faith upon when cobbled races was in sight. The race turned out a bit as anticipated and Steurs took a satisfying 8th from the race, actually outsprinting faster riders in the subtop-group of riders.

Among the very favorites to shine all over this race, we entered full of optimism. We were quickly let down by af below par Guerao though. In hindsight it was too optimistic to expect that he could manouvre his way to stagewins without the much needed support. Instead the support focus was towards Alberto Contador, but in the end it was a bumpy ride towards 3rd in the GC in same time as Vincenzo Nibali in 2nd.

With a in-form Contador as team captain we were fairly optimistic about the race, but also fearful that he had peaked already. It was also Sinners chance to shine, as the teams sole sprinter. The race started out well with Mathieu Bernaudeau taking 3rd on the opening prologue. The first true test came on stage 5, where Taylor Phinney showed his remarkable strength from the Giro wasn't over yet. Alberto Contador took a nice second place on the stage. The rest of the race was all about defending seconds, and a 3rd place in the GC is a fully respectable result for us.

On the pendant to the french Dauphiné challenge, was the Tour of Suisse. A favorite race for the former swiss funded Team Festina. With Markus Fothen in the lineup we were hopefull of a top 5 in the GC, but in the end it was a fairly dissapointing race, as no real selection was able to be made. Our bolivian climber Piter Campero, though, showed what to expect from him in the future, by taking 5th on a very difficult mountainstage. Markus Fothen was 6th overall which is alright.

The Luxembourgian race have been a positive encounter for us in recent years, but without a top hilly rider we were not looking forward to this race. The race was ridden like we had expected, but with the lack of a top rider to ride for, and a subtile setup we couldn't establish any sort of pressure on the other riders, and had to settle for an anonymous 11th overall which, including all circumstances, is a fairly respectable result.
