Tour de San Luis doesn´t have a long history. It´s only 7th edition of this 2.1 race
but already have some famous winners like Vincenzo Niballi or Levi Leipheimer.
Last year winner was from our team and he will do his best to repeat his achievement, but he will be happy even with top 5 because great oposition.

Tour de San Luis

Stage 1

Interview before race with Galimzyanov:

Q: How are you feeling at the moment?
A: You know. I don´t feel really well. I think today it will be really bad and i won´t be able to do a maximum for my team.
Q: What is your pre-race tactic?
A: I should find a wheel of Demare and than just do all I can.
Q: Thanks for your time. Bye.

Race Profile:

This stage was made for sprinters. Or long brakeaway.

´´R.Flens´´

Flens is first rider from the peleton to attack he was soon joined by 4 others.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/11a09371.jpg
´´R.Flens,S.Pirazzi,D.Loyd,M,Chavez and a big gun Damiano Cunego´´

They soon create a margin of 4 minutes.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/00fc0a75.jpg
At the intermediate M.Chavez is first to cross the line.

Pack is now 5:36 behind and with 75 km from the line it looks fine for them as the pack is still slowly loosing ground.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/7766314b.jpg

With 30km to the finish Contador and his Saxobank start to chase down the breakaway.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/7327d71a.jpg

Under 20 km banner BOD still have 1:20 to pack but it doesn´t look good for them.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/0216b2d1.jpg

10 km to the line and they´ve got only 28 seconds it looks clear that their day is over.
We are now 2.5 km from the finnish and it look really bad with Galimzyanov.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/fa137dfd.jpg
´´Galimzyanov´´ stucked behind one of the Katushas cyclists.´´
When he was under he could see that today was a really bad day and he stopped sprint and end on 20 position.

Nice report indeed Smile Just two tips: I think it would be nice for the readers to know the squad that is participating for the team without having to look at the full schedule. And imo, the result would look better if it was in a table.

Keep it up!

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/87581066.jpg

Right from the start there where a lot of attacks but in the end olny 4 riders where the ´´chosen ones´´

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/f5ca728d.jpg
´´J.Pineau,A.Bertolini,E.Vona,M.Wynants´´

They created a 5 minute gap but that was enough for duo of Lampre

´´T.Sechi and D.Cunego chasing the breakaway´´

A.Bertolini won both intermediate sprints and
M.Wynants won the mountains sprint.
The gap was still decreasing but 13km before the line on small hill Moreno Bazan attacked from the peloton.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/6580e520.jpg

3kms later he joined the BOD,but the pack was near.
i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/d62dd009.jpg

But when we set up a train with 5km left we caught them quickly.

´´T.Kritskiy leading out Greg Smukulis and Galimzyanov.´´

With 2.5km Smukulis started to sprint Galimzyanov was perfectly set to his wheel.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/a4e9def0.jpg

1.2 km to go Smukulis is empty,Galimzyanov start sprinting towards the victory.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/36562cfb.jpg
´´After perfect lead-out he is just kilometer from victory. But T.Gallopin is well placed right behind him.´´

With 0.5km it is Gallopin against Galimzyanov. Our sprinter is wheel in front
but Tony is coming and he is coming fast.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/06e306c1.jpg

Can he hold it??

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/67ceb086.jpg
No.

Tony was faster today but it was close. We can still be happy after 20th place to 2nd.Huge jump forward.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/d9b28115.jpg

But wait a minute! Sprint was so fast that 36 riders lost 1:27 today. Amongs them are Andy Schleck,Roman Kreuziger,Ivan Basso,Janez Brajkovic. So a great day for Rein Taaramae too.

Rein Taaramae attacked from the peloton.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/1e41e4c9.jpg

After two kilometers he created a gap of 40 seconds but from the peloton atacks a big group of favourites.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/98e11f43.jpg
´´De Gendt,Moser,Kelderman,Vandewalle,Voeckler,Gasparoto´´
After 2 kms they joined Rein amd create a group of 12

Rein Taaramae is well placed behind De Gendt.
With 500 meters its between those two.

i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/39087aff.jpg

But De Gendt was strongest today.

Stage 4

Today it was ITT and one of two decisive stages. So Rein Taaramae wanted to take some of the time from De Gendt.

Squad:

Profile:
i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/ScreenShot002_zps54ea753a.jpg

First one to start from our team was A.Akmetish he rode a decent time trial ended on 42nd and lost 1´05 to a winner.
Karpets set the first time to beat with 27´20 and it last long.
But then M.Monfort beat his time by 7 seconds.
Then come G.Smukulis he ended on a great 28th place right behind T.Kritskiy.
Winner of today´s stage is:
i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/JuanMotr/Tour%20of%20San%20Luis/ScreenShot004_zps03b666b8.jpg
´´Stef Clement´´

He beat time of Monfort by 9 seconds and time of WITT champion (Contador) by only one second.
Then Rein Taaramae was off it was him aggainst De Gendt.
De Gendt was better by 6 seconds on the first time check, provisionally 7th.
Rein was provisionally 14th.
But then Rein put pedal to the metal and beat Thomas by 3 seconds and ended on great 6th place 12 seconds behind leader.
