Because I'm unskilled when it comes to riding time trials and because I find them rather boring, I always quick sim them.
So, in Paris-Nice, I was 2nd in the GC with VDB 1" behind Kreuziger, Tony Martin and Contador being only about 30" behind. It's the final stage, a mountain time trial, and I thought I should consider myself lucky if I could keep a podium place behind Martin and Contador.
I press the quick sim button, the game loads and much to my surprise VDB has won the TT and the GC as well. Also, my earnings now cover two months of staff salary.
(Does difficulty affect quick sim results? I'm playing on hard.)
Love the idea for this thread. Glad someone brought it back up. My best PCM moment was definitely winning a tour stage with Haussler when Cancellara celebrated too soon.

For me, it was a while ago winning the Giro with Nibali on hard. There was 2 seconds to the nearest rider, Cunnego. Evans was third, 13 seconds down. Without Basso, there would have been no way I could have achieved this! Such a great rider to have as a domestic. It unfortunately looks like I'm losing Sagan this season though but I'm not too worried as I'll start a new career when the next PCM daily database is released
Last weekend, I was happy to win the Amstel Gold Race 2012 with Iglinskiy after a solo of 12 km. After the hard work of Katusha and Kiserlovski, there were only 9 riders left at the front, so I decided to attack with Iglinskiy, while Gasparotto could hang in the wheel of the others to demotivate them. Worked perfectly!
I was doing a smaller(2.2) stage-race in a continental team career, and it was stage 3 I believe. My GC man was positioned in the Top 3 of the GC(2nd I think). Stage 3 was a sprint stage, and I got a perfectly positioned sprint train, with my sprinter being an outsider. Suddenly, with 6km to go, when my GC man was leading the train, he fell, and with him, my whole team...
Luckily, I didn't lose time, since I went straight to the attack when they were on their bike again, and the game gave me the same time as the peloton. I won the GC after that
First of all i have to say this thread has been a great read so far!!
Best thing I've archieved in career mode (hard) was winning Milan San Remo with Hoogerland (without training camps).
Formed an attack train with Karsten Kroon and Johnny Hoogerland tailing him on the final hill. By the time the other attackers caught up with them Hoogerland gave them the final blow and ended in a solo victory.
I'm sure this might be nothing compared to the other stories I've read, but i still fellt like sharing
Playing the 2013 season with Daily beta with Blanco.
In the Giro, Gesink was my leader, with Kruijswijk, Kelderman and Nordhaug as most important domestiques. I had a great fight with Wiggins until 3/4th through the Giro. But ultimately Gesink collapsed a bit in the last week and I finished 3rd, 4 minutes behind. Nibali was 2nd. Others were only briefly in the mix but I was still suprised by the strong field (also there, Froome, Rodriguez, Hesjedal, Evans and the usual Italians).
Then in the Tour I intended to make Gesink leader again with Mollema as backup (since Gesink already did the Giro). I didn't really think I'd have a shot at doing something since all the big guns were there and even Andy S. was in form.
Thanks to a great TTT and smart racing, midway through the tour I had Gesink and Mollema in 3rd and 4th and Ten Dam in 7th. The battle was mainly between Contador and Froome. But then came the Ventoux.
Due to the crosswinds on the flat I tried to rip the peloton apart. It didn't work as intended as all the big climbers were still there when the climb begun. But halfway through the Ventoux I noticed all of them were pretty much dead. Even Contador didn't have his usual spark.
Then I upped the pace with Mollema and Gesink and only Nibali could go with them. Contador had a very bad day and lost 3 minutes. Now it was a 4-way battle between Froome, Nibali, Gesink and Mollema. Unfortunately Mollema quickly dropped away in the following mountain stages and Contador was giving us a hard time by ripping the field apart every mountain stage.
On the 2nd ITT however (mountainous one), it turned out this ITT was very favorible to human players and Gesink could pull a nice advantage against the rest. Suddenly I found myself in yellow with Gesink, 30 seconds ahead of Froome and 50 ahead of Nibali.
Almost I started to believe in the stunt, but in the final mountain stages Gesinks form plummeted (which was logical seeing his schedule) and Froome only became stronger. I first thought I could become 2nd still, 12 seconds behind Froome. But on the last mountain stage it was utter carnage. Again Contador, who had risen to 4th place, was attacking all over the place and almost cost Gesink a spot on the podium. But in the end he saved it with 40 seconds to spare. Froome beat Nibali by just 40 seconds in the end, Gesink was a bit more than 1 minute behind and Contador 1'40, with A Schleck in 5th at 2'00. Mollema finally finished 6th and Ten Dam 16th.
Verty good Tour for Blanco, and a great battle in all mountain stages between Contador, Froome, Nibali and Gesink
